    Hello Dr. Dan, thank-you for a very informative tutorial! I just started Saxenda last week, on the 0.6 mg dose, I was wondering about the best time , if any, to do the daily injections? I had been on Saxenda last Nov 2019, had success with about 15 pounds lost then the world turned upside down and I stopped taking it in February 2020, boo! Anyways have definitely struggled with will power the past two and half years, ie daily activity, diet etc so hoping this can jump start my motivation to continue on a path of health and healthier habits! Glad I found you on Tik Tok a few months back, very informational and great content! Thank-you!

    What about swelling and redness at and around injection site?

      This is normal. It depends on severity. Discuss with doc or pharmacist!

    Almost everytime i take my saxenda there is a drop of the medicin on the tip when i remove the needle from my stomach, and i keep it in for 10 seconds everytime, what do i do wrong😰

    • @theofficialdrdan
      @theofficialdrdan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is fine. That is just residual volume from the needle tip. The entire dose is being injected.

    If you need to take 0.75mg and the pen only marks 0.25mg and 0.5mg doses - you’re likely to do two shots, one by one, one of 0.25mg and one of 0.5mg. Do these consecutive shots still require swapping needles?

      The best practice would be to swap the needles. As once you use a needle it becomes dull. So second dose will be more painful and can cause more bruising.

    Thanks for this video, Dr Dan. I haven’t yet committed to talking it (Ozempic prescribed to me), so clear instruction like yours helps in my decision-making process. One question: when you say wait until it “zeros out”, do u mean wait until the dosage reading returns to zero?

    Hi. This video was helpful, thank u. Was concerned coz i bought my second pen and it has a few bubbles. I think my mind is at ease. Still getting use to injecting myself. Dont want to make mistakes.

    Hold up I thought you’re only supposed to use the needle that comes with the little container one time and then throw it in the trash? Isn’t that right can you keep saying reusing the needles don’t re use the needles?? I thought there’s only one week you take this and that little needle that you put on the end of that is the medicine for that one time isn’t that correct?

    Storing question, once open and using - once per week where are we storing this ? Prior to opening I am advised to keep refrigerated
    Thank you in advance

      The manufacturer states when using a pen it can be kept at room temp for up 8 weeks - avoid direct sunlight and drastic temp changes.. Any unused pens need to be kept in the fridge.

    Wash hands? Alcohol swab the skin?

    • @theofficialdrdan
      @theofficialdrdan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am hoping washing hands is common sense! No need to alcohol swab. Studies have shown it provides no benefit against infection.

      @@theofficialdrdan Thanks for that clarification on the alcohol swab. I hope washing hands is common sense, too.
