Am turning 77 this Yr in Nov. And she reminds me of me and my grand daughter. Love her attitude as I can do it. Only thing I have against her is she doesn't eat fish. Bet if I cooked some deep fired in the Cajun way she'd change her mind. Spent 30 yrs in La. so know all the way the coon-asses cooked. Shrimp, crabs, crayfish, Fish etc. If it's in the water and swims the Coon Asses will catch it, cook it and eat it and it'll taste good
When I was growing up, my mother always had a jar of baking grease in the refrigerator. I am now 67 years old and you know what?I have a jar of baking grease in my refrigerator It really comes in handy. You're having another great day of fishing. Enjoy life.
If I had room in my little fridge I suppose I would store mine in there too so Ramsay couldn't get it 😆
You can keep it on the stove, no refrigerator needed like crisco.

How fun! Those little Perch are a hoot! For my local Trout ( No. Colorado ), I keep a ready arsenal: Cabela's has a Tsunami "Rooster-Tail" 1/6Oz in yellow that works well for me. It's just heavy enough that I can get it "out there". Similar weighted "Macho-Minnows" and "Krokodiles" work, too. I also now use a braided line that is 2Lb size / 6Lb strength; it's light and doesn't hold those smaller lures back. If I had to choose one, I'd go with the 1/6Oz Yellow "Rooster-Tail" & lookalikes. Have FUN!
I need to get out fishing on my days off. A bad day on the water is better than a good day at work. You had a good day on the water! Congrats
The one thing that not a lot of people think of with their reels, is to straighten the line. After sitting all winter it will have that loop as it is going out and will not cast as far, and will get more tangles/knots. My Dad and I would take all of the rods out at the start of the year and just let them out like we were trolling with just the swivel on. Let the line out really far and go for a ride. It would make casting, etc so much easier and a lot less tangles.

I just found your channel and I love your attitude. My brother and I are both in our 70,s and live off grid on 16 acres in Washington State. We both have our own home built cabins. It was trial and error with our solar arrays, but I think that we have them dialed in now. I’m now binge watching all your videos. God bless and keep up the good work 😊

Catfish (No, they aren't muddy), bluegill, bass, I catch these around home. I mostly fish in the Mississippi River and local ponds.
When I go to Minnesota, I fish for walleyed pike.
@RodWmson1950 awesome! We only have brown bullhead here for cats and they are small. No walleye, bluegill, or Largemouth here. I really want to catch a Largie some day
I’m all trout ♥️ When they do the gasperoux ( spelling 🤷♀️) I always get a feed of those and then a few maceral ( spelling 🤷♀️😄 ) too - freeze a couple for a taste in like February 👍👍

I wish they were bigger, been a while since I caught a decent sized white perch and they are fun! I don't eat fish but yes I bet the cats would enjoy some fish flakes lol

Hi Jenna,
Well that was a good day of fishing. They weren't the biggest but they were biting. That small mouth probably felt pretty good on that rod and reel. My brother and nephews fish for rainbow trout sometimes. They use whole kernel corn and mini marshmallows as bait.
I see where Ramsey was being a naughty kitty getting into the bacon grease. Rory seems like he is being a good kitty, eating his special food. You just have to watch Rory around the stuffed animals, but we won't go into that.
Well, my kidney stone should have been gone by now but, alas, I still have it. They were going to pulverize it but couldn't pin point it so on the 14th they are going to laser it out of me. They put a stent in me in the meantime, so the pain isn't that bad at all. Just want to get this taken care of so I will feel like doing a little fishing. Late May, early June is the best time of the year for catfishing, here in southern Ohio. I'll have to check my tackle box and equipment, out in the garage, to see what I have left after my nephews raided my stuff. Darn kids. LOL.

Always enjoy checking out your channel as soon as one Pops up. I did want to mention, although it's probably something you might already know as a cat owner; when they go off food like that or when they get particularly picky especially if they have dental problems which it sounds like the one kitty does - you want to make sure their liver and kidney health are what they should be. Usually vets can run a test panel from a blood sample to see how the kidneys and liver are functioning. Declining appetite can sometimes be tied to liver issues so it's just something to keep an eye on
For sure thanks, Ramsay definitely has an appetite he is just being picky because he knows if he doesn't eat something, he will get offered something better, haha. He ate two cans of food first thing this morning 👍

Hi Jenna good casting remember when get up go pick up breakfast take boat out set up reel sit back sip coffee and bam rod and reel went overboard brand new too had to set up another reel as to not look stupid lol stay safe dear enjoy the weather

Some beautiful spots Jen. Probably the Perch were in a school. I don't no bout White Perch but I used to catch a Yellow Perch and put a gigantic bobber and some line on it and let it lead me to the school. Nice video young lady, thanks for share. ben/ michigan
Thanks Ben, oh yes, White Perch definitely school. I used to put a yellow perch head on a hook and fire it out with a bobber, fire on shore in the dark and catch eels. Those things are wild looking

Yes the cat fur would give it away, little monky. I wish I had the fishing bug as there is a river that runs through our town (The River Liffey) That was fun seen all the diffrent type of fish.

Best video of the year (so far)! What brand of spinning reel was that? It looked like it had a very smooth action. I love all your comments during the casting and reeling in.
