The preservation of books through deep and sudden cultural changes is another side to consider if you care about book preservation. The fungi and mold and poorer quality paper is the basic problem area. Culture has to be a fugitive sometimes, and without a lot of advance warning. China has recently issued its own communist version of the Bible, for example. And I believe it's mandatory (China Mandatory!) for the Chinese Christians to own these and not other versions now. This is an interesting look at the Reynard the Foxing issue.
wow, that's incredible. I can't say I'm too informed on that topic, but that's an entirely different field in information studies. You came to mind this week as I was at work and playing with the first illustrated edition of Milton's Paradise Lost. I made a very short video on the work channel: th-cam.com/users/shortsCN9y8Ue8NGM
@@InfiniteText thank you - I would have missed that Paradise Lost video. As you point out, the scores and scores of supporters listed at the back, who donated to Milton is a wonder.
I thought I was gonna dive in the world of books about foxes 🦊😅 which I love ☺️ and I kept wanting to watch this one 🧡 but wow what a surprise 😳 such an important topic and gave me so much awareness about taking care of books 📚 thank you for the tips! It was very interesting and at the same time spooky with the mold. Afterwards I ended up checking the humidity level in the room where I keep my dear books. I also had some books near windows, good to know 👍 Great video ❤️
Such a cool deep dive!
Interesting. Best wishes with what you choose to read and to your channel.
