Yeah they were mainstream. This was a big hit. So technically they were stars. Unfortunately they were overshadowed by the Dixie Chicks but i think they also had personal reasons for leaving the industry.
@@MidnightVentures They got dropped by their label and didn't want to play the politics anymore. Kristen used to be active on social media but hasn't in years. There stars in their own right but the industry at the time were in love with the Dixie Chicks.
Man, this song is all but forgotten ! I kind of like how some songs i swore were classics wind up with such abysmal views on TH-cam , It's a great way to judge how these songs were really remembered by the public. Country music is an endless string of the same kind of stars, who get some big hits and then they fade away only to be replaced with the next up and coming singers.
The phrase you don’t know what you got til it’s gone applies to many things. The fact that current country music bears little to no resemblance to what came before makes you appreciate when you do hear the classics like this gem.
These ladies are all pitch perfect. I absolutely love their sound and to me they're incomparable in that era. A perfect combination of talent and beauty
The blonde with those green eyes is mesmerizing! Saw them on stage and had to constantly remind myself to not keep staring at her like some freak! haha
Shedaisey and The Dixie Chicks were a new era in Womens Country bands after the 80's saw bands like The Judds and Sweet Hearts of the Rodeo pave the way for a different sound and twang in the 90's and beyond. Shedaisey paved the way for smaller bands like The Wreckers that popped up in the lower 2000's. As far as all out harmony...nobody could touch Shedaisey and this song proves it.
It's just sooo sad they just couldn't keep their big mouths shut about politics!!! Just like those dumb Dixie chicks...I mean come on...they all know it would be SUICIDE to keep trying to shove their opinions down our throats and risk alienating over half their fan base!!! Smdh
My 77 yr old grandma is on her death bed. She was more of a mother than my real mother. I've been trying to find all her favorite country songs so i can add them to a playlist. This was one of her favorites. Brings back happy memories.
Bought a Faith hill album off iTunes last night and under it was "People who bought this also bought" and saw Jo dee messina. Forgot about her so on youtube listening to her, falling in love all over again and then thought "Wasn't there a girl band, a trio, a blonde, redhead and brunette country group I used to love watching on CMT? Typed that into google and came across shedaisy! OMG I'm so happy. I had CMT from 1999 to 2001 and loved all these singers but forgot about them!
Brings back lots of memories of the summer of 1999 when I was 10. =P I hadn't heard this song in 11 years before I finally looked it up. All I could remember was the "lipstick tube on the bathroom floor" line.
I love 90s country, but I always get a kick out of the TH-cam comments that talk about how this music needs to come back because it was "real country". Here's the thing: when this music came out, this was not considered real country then. Traditional country fans bitched and moaned about how real country was dead because pop had taken over country radio. Every generation processes the new sound through the lens of nostalgia. Country music, like every other genre, goes through an evolution. Nothing stays the same. No doubt that if the world is still spinning in 2030, somebody will be complaining about how country music sounds and will be reminiscing over Sam Hunt or Florida Georgia Line.
Linda Mills believe me a friend of mine was wit a chick named harmony & from wat I heard she was far from what her name was for being a smooth person a real winner
They were incredible. Beautiful voices and great songs. We purchased all of their albums as they came out. Then we excitedly purchased front row center seats to one their concerts in Palm Springs approximately 13 years ago, and WHAT A LET DOWN! The base was cranked up so high so you could not hear their voices at all. So we tried moving further back, then further back again; finally we were at the exit, and still all you could hear was base, no voices. Sadly, we left disappointed and heartbroken. I guess they stopped performing shortly after that concert. No wonder if that's how they performed live...
This was a hit in the summer of 1999 when I was 10. That was a really fun memorable summer :D Wish I could have another. The last really fun happy one I had was 2009.
robert gardell They wanted to get married, have children and live out of the limelight. I don't blame them. They were so young when they hit it big! So they can time-wise & financially afford to live two lives! Pre and Post Country Stars! 😄 I’d love to see an update with the sisters, though! (Only if they truly want to update us fans on what's happened in their lives since their last big album. I pray for Kristen, Kasidy & Kelsey!!! Love you, ladies! Cheers, 👱🏻♀️👩🏼👩🏻🦰
*Trudy* No, music is not simply music. It breaks down into genres, sub-genres, mixed genres, etc. Something tells me you don't fully know, understand, or care about the deep roots of Country music. Yeah, the Dick Chicks have managed to reach such a WIDE audience that they aren't played on the radio, get everywhere in the South & are CRAZY SJWs! It's almost mighty convenient that they dripped the ”Dixie” part after they'd made the $150 million the three are collectively worth. They just decide to drop it now, hoping for some Woke Virtue Signaling. It doesn't really matter since they'd made well over $200 million on the name. If they REALLY cared, wouldn't they donate the money made from using a Southern name to HBCUs & organizations that help take care of the Black people they've money off the backs off. #sofake
Still listening, but the ears are doing a lot better than the memory. A couple of weeks ago, I was looking for a song, "Midnight Girl/Sunset Town" that I've thought for years was by SHeDaisy, only to find it was Sweethearts of the Rodeo (1999). I looked at the songs that SHeDaisy had had recorded and none rang a bell. It wasn't until a few minutes ago that the words "Japan" and "Funny little Budda man" popped into my mind for some reason and a quick search later, presto! I don't know why I associated the 1986 song with the late 90s, but I'm happy to finally be reunited with it.
I remember when my mom ALWAYS had this song on in the car then whenever I would wake up in the morning it would be on GAC or CMT I came back to this video because my mom recently passed away so watching and hearing this brings back memories
Hold on to all you have because i know what its like to have someone close pass and even the little things remind me of them and it helps me!!!! It puts tears in my eyes and sometimes a smile on my face!!

They are very talented as you can tell.
This is a LOVE 💓 song about a man who thinks he's all that & not realizing that the only thing that matters is that you have someone truly does LOVE 💓💓 you & wants you to see that before it's too late 💔 ✴

This is really how I feel about my family. I just want to disappear one day and just feel like these things I’ve left behind are all that’s left of me because I’m gone!!! At this point I don’t think they would miss me at all.
I am shocked that they didn't become major stars. Their voices complement each other very well.
They did become major stars. They were very big for years. They ended up walking away after their label shut down.
Yeah they were mainstream. This was a big hit. So technically they were stars. Unfortunately they were overshadowed by the Dixie Chicks but i think they also had personal reasons for leaving the industry.

I remember that they had one big hit in the 90s. Never forgot ‘em. I called them the opposite Dixie chicks.
Favorite line "put through tv in the back of my car have fun watching the vcr"
It's loaded up the TV.
One of the most under-rated groups. Awesome sound!
"I got the umbrella, here comes the rain. . ." 😂

Love their Christmas album !!!
Still missing you here in 2024. The world needs your humor + beautiful harmonies now more than ever.

Agreed. They are all beautiful but she really stands out. Her smile and her eyes are AMAZING!
For me honestly, probably no one else would make this connection, but it goes Wilson Phillips, point of grace, shedaisy.
This song puts a smile on anyone's face, doesn't it?
Rosanna Nadeau sound of silence

Rosanna Nadeau yes ma'am

10 years ago you told me the score....now you're a memory.......thanks for the heads up....little good byes
Reminds me of Fridays when my Grandpa picked me up to stay with them in the country every weekend. I can barely listen, the pain is too much
One of my favorites ever!!! Beautiful Harmony and a great sound of country music in the background!
You stole my name!!!!!!
I totally forgot about this group and song. VCR 😆 my grandkids aren't even going to know what them are 😆
Love you SheDaisy. My husband is deployed and this song gets right to the heart of things. Love Come home soon.
Love the late 90's fashion and the short red hair that the one singer has. That was really popular back then!
I met these beautiful ladies(and their mother actually). They were so nice and friendly, and talented to boot.
So missed. I hope they are staying healthy and happy.
God I LOVE this song. the background "yeah-oohs" during the "you come home tonight and turn on the lights" is intoxicating.
Dixie Chicks, Shania Twain and Faith Hill put together! Crossover Country-Pop perfection! :)
it sucks
They want to be just the Chicks now. They insulted President Bush and now Dixie , they just keep disappointing me.

on Wikipedia, it says they're still together
You shouldn't believe Wikipedia. It's sometimes false information.
Are you sure?
I used to listen to this while I was deployed in 2001. It still has the magic. My daughters are now 19 and 21. My wife is sadly with Gavin.......
