You're right, but you misunderstood what the first commenter actually meant. All they meant was "this is my favourite album". Regardless of the words they typed, as you pointed out, it's impossible to actually genuinely apply the true categorical nature of the words 'best' and 'ever' to something like this. So why pick him/her up on something you know they couldn't have actually meant?

I presume that directed at me. Well I was one of those hard core fans who thought Richey was God. I wanted to be like him, I wanted to write poetry like him. I cut myself, I drank, I was seriously depressed, because I was under the illusion that I HAD to be that way in order to be the kind of genius that Richey was. Hence I was a very impressionable 17, 18 year old at the time. That's what I mean when I said it ruined my life, but I must admit that "Ruined my life" is an exaggeration. I like to think that now I'm 37, I've grown up a bit. It's weird but I don't even particularly care for the Manics these days, and I'm in no way part of that Richey cult anymore. It was just a period of my life that I've let go.

I just discovered this album yesterday and I've gotta say this is the best album I've ever heard in my life. This is what I've been looking for.

For about 10 years I was so obsessed with the manics that it ruined my life. I still love them but I'm happy to say I'm no longer addicted.
