Thank you very much for sharing this Joe . Ive been trying to sort a simple wiring system for my dwarf signals with out using fancy electronics & this works great for me.....Your lovely daughter brought me some memories of my 4 daughters when they were cute ..the eldest one is now 60 ..how time flys by...Cheers from Brian UK modeler
Joe, this is a great video! I will be using the Peco insulfrog turnouts as well on my new layout. I have always liked those dwarf switches and now that you've shown how it's done I may try to incorporate some into the layout. Thanks again and great how to video!!!
Joe, just subscribed to your channel and this is a very good instructional video. I've been pondering the question to "signal or not to signal" in some areas. This is a good inexpensive way to accomplish that. Thanks for the video and will be watching for more in the future.
That's amazingly easy!!! I've got several manually thrown, Peco Insulfrog turnouts, that I was sure was never going to get target signals. Thanks!! BTW, your daughter is such a cutie - and a HAM! She really loves the camera, and her Daddy!! It's Carmine. I'm sorta back, new channel, starting over from nothing.... Not out of the woods yet. Not dead yet either! You've made a LOT of progress! I'll have to catch up. Carmine 🚂
COOL! When we're back on our feet again (been almost a YEAR now!) 😩, I'm definitely doing that. I can't believe it was that simple - and uses the DCC buss!!!
i did something similar. i used magnet wire at 28awg. its thin enough to be hidden into the signal. also i joined the negative from each led to 1 resistor. then the positive leads went onto the spdt switch in a tortoise. since only 1 light is on at any time the resistor it only working 1 negative lead at a time, eliminating 1 wire/lead. also i have my leds powered by a single 12v DC wall wort. not using ac power from track.
Great info Joe. I am very interested in installing signals, and this helped a lot. (BTW: your little "associate" is just too cute and adorable. Please be sure to give her plenty of hugs and kisses, no matter what age.)
Thank you for the great video! I'll be re-watching this when I start building my layout. Hoping that I can make it work just as easy as you made it look. :) Actually making an EZ-track DCC layout, hoping to make it all still work with additions like this.
Been trying to figure this out for some time now...And now you have given me the complete info on it.. Just wish others would show how things are done like this...I`ve got 8 manual throw switches on my small layout on some double crossovers And now you`ve shown the perfect video for it... One question tho will it also work with the feeder wires???
I like your signal you made. Im new and I am doing n scale I understand most of it but can you explain about the bus wiring not familiar with that. Thanks.
Thank you very much. I have a video that explains the way I did the bus wire on my layout. Let me know if you have any questions after watching it. th-cam.com/video/EYI_Od5j30c/w-d-xo.html

Not very prototypical but it works very well! And its cheap!
Looks very good Joe nice scratch build dwarf signal ! !
***** Your welcome Joe !
One resistor per two led is ok soldered on the common. Happy railroading !
Thanks I will be doing that on the next LED.
Joe great how too and nice and cheap cheers Robert

Well done. I will give this a go!
I enjoyed this video, I'll have to consider doing this on my layout.

Thank you for the redirect to the bus video.
Just a thought, would it be possible to solder the wires for the leds to the rail joiners instead of cutting away from the track to get to the rails?
+Super Afr0 it might work. the only way to find out is try it. let me know if it works
Joe G well i been playing around with the lights and beleive it or not i managed to melt a right turn out in the process but ill figure it out. Lol.
She’s adorable! Make her part of your channel.
She's a teen now and doesn't like the camera 😆
Nice and clear, thanks for your video.
Youre welcome, it works very well for me!! I hope you got something helpful out of the video!!
Awesome Job!!!
Good tutorial Joe, your daughter is a cutie, and loves the camera, lol Tom
Super cool Joe - glad to see you putting out content again! -Rick
Thank you, its good to be back
Joe,
Are using DCC or DC?
John Griffin
Great job
Thank you!
Good instructional video.
so you use the AC from DCC to power the led's?
The LED's are not as bright when using DCC since they are only carrying current during one half of the AC cycle.
thanks for the info and video on this think I will give it a try
Great video Joe (Hayden)
no problem
Nice Demo.
Thank you very much
how would this idea work with Atlas code 83 custom line of #4 and #6 turnouts?
Thanks you is the good teacher you is the best
Luis Acosta Thank you very much. I'm glad you like the video.
Dorf signals?
As in small lighted signal's
very nice I run N scale and this is great
nice job man good job
Yes they
You can find these LED's already wired at All Electronics. They have 2, 3, and 4 high LED lights..
Yeah, I have since gone to those type of signals.
Look like a challenge to hook up
They weren't too bad!
You have an lovely daughter...
Thank you very much. She's a lot of fun
