She’s from my area of the UK and we call everyone luv, pet, or flower. I’m so happy you understand her accent. It’s called a Geordie accent and at one time, it wasn’t allowed on television. Everyone on TV had to speak the queens English. Thank God that people hear it now and love it. I’m proud to be a Geordie, we have a reputation for being warm, friendly and caring.
At Newcastle airport I ended up taking off more than I had to, thinking that was what the security guard was telling me. I had already started to remove my suit trousers when I realised I should have stopped at my belt! They were going, "Naw, naw!". I thought they were saying "More, more!" 😀 Lovely people, but that accent is hard to understand. Sarah Millican's accent I'm fine with, but other Geordies - help!
Terms of endearment here in the UK: Pet Love Flower Petal Poppet Duck Dear Rose Treacle There's probably loads more, but you get the picture, we have loads of affectionate terms. Great post guys. 😂
WOW you will enjoy seeing her live, what a treat... she is wonderful and from near my neck of the woods...... You must try to say hello to Sarah , she WILL adore you for doing so
Flower is normally a term of endearment spoken by people from the north east of England (like Sarah). My mum used to say it all the time, she would call my wife flower every time she was on the phone to her. I usually addresss my wife by pet and sometimes flower.too.
My niece and I are from the UK and live in Bulls Gap in East TN. We will be there to see Sarah in Nashville. She is one of our favorites! We will look out for you 🙂
The wife and I have clocked up 20 years now. Our relationship wad different at 5 years, 10 years, 15 years, and now. The longer we spend together, the deeper our feelings get.
"Flower" is a Geordie term of affection, in the rest of the North of England it would be "love". Did you notice she said bairns for children? A Scottish word that's popular in Geordieland.
@@flarey9495 I've often heard "Ey up, chuck" in West Yorkshire where my grandparents lived. Chucky was an endearment my mother would call me. (I hope she didn't mean I was an evil doll).
Hi Mike & Jess, great reaction. So pleased that you will see her live next year. You may want to have a look at her husband, Gary Delaney, well funny and worth a watch 🙂
Love is a sense of belonging for me. Belonging to something that is greater than one self. Love is that, Belonging some where with some other person that is not your own self doubts and hates. Belonging.
I've only recently discovered your channel and what a breath of fresh air. I'm a brit and no offence, you guys are so down to earth and... dare I say normal... 🤣 Love the channel
The wife and I have been married 48 years next year, people ask what we put that down to and I always say , Neither of us wanted custody of the kids. lol, not true really I love her to bits.
WHAT?! No seriously! I'm from the UK and even I've been there, done that, got the T-shirt, got the hat, you should definitely go and stream the holiday, make it a special
G'day Guys! Greetings from Australia, OZ , my sister and I have been to Sarah's last two tours down here and will be seeing the new show in February... She is always just was hilarious as in these videos! BTW "Flower" is a common term used in the North of England and can be used for blokes was well as ladies... Cheers!
Great reaction video, guys! But please be aware (if you aren't already) ..... when Sarah refers to a "throbbing fanny" ... she's not talking about a 'throbbing tush' ...... 'fanny' in the UK is the 'front bottom' 😮😂🤣😂
Great reaction Mike and Jess. For sure Sarah Millican is a brilliant and such a funny comedian. I know you guys will have a fantastic time when you go to see her in Nashville. By the way, you two give me butterflies. 🦋🦋🦋
Hi you two. I know you enjoyed reviewing Queen a while back. Try Queen - Hammersmith Odeon, London - Lap of the Gods. Its a TV broadcast from Christmas Eve that was shown live on BBC2 in the 70's - From around the Night of the Opera / Bohemian Rapsody era - Enjoy
diff up here ish lol we speak way diff in the deen.........great couple I send regards from Aberdeen Scotland , have a great life, you were born for each other x
Love is a wonderful thing! I remember it well! But that was in the past! I am now divorced! It all started to go wrong when I turned up with a baseball cap on back to front! It went downhill from there!😂
Sarah is from my home town and I’ve met her couple of times back stage at gigs, if I see her I’m going to point this video out to her see if she’ll point you out? 😂
I knew when i met my husband i wanted to have children with him. Now he is living in France, married to someone else. Dont feel sad for me, i could never have left my grown up kids to move abroad anyway.
Of course that Man was a Plant. Why do you think Sarah keeps saying Flower? Ha!Ha! I discovered the meaning of Love...Never having any Money in your Wallet.
Love you both and love Sarah ❤️ As you mentioned seeing her live and as you have now reacted to her a few times , it's obvious that audience participation is a thing Sarah welcomes and jokes with but are American audiences likely to be as vocal as the English ones ? Was just curious. Keep laughing stay healthy love from Northern Ireland ❤
There are a lot of comics that feed off of the audience engagement here in the US, but there are a lot of comics that also hate it when the audience chimes in.
I think for guys you know you're in love when you just know you would take that bullet for her - although, and I've asked a lot of them, very few women would seem to do the same.
Just been to see her ourselves assuming she does the same thing in US you'll be able to collect a badge with a saying or words used in show have 2 now with Flower and Eager Beaver on lol
I would love it if you could react to fenwick christmas window 2020 usually there's a crowd waiting to see it but it was covid. It shows previous windows over the years and almost everything is animatronic, fenwick is pronounced fenick the 'w' is silent. My auntie used to be part of the team that put the window together, please take a look at it.
Jess laughing at Mike at the beginning was great. Still waiting for you guys to react to Queen - Love of my life at LiveAid. Link below: th-cam.com/video/v3xwCkhmies/w-d-xo.html
To be honest, M&J, I'm just wondering how either of you are going to manage to cope being at it??? You struggle now with sore jaws and stomachs from 10-15 minutes worth already - at her show, it may be anything from an hour to 90 minutes or so . . . So you may both have to practice a lot more just to survive and get through it!!! lol . . . Yes, we use the words Flower, Pet, Love, even Hinny is an older term still used by much older folk, too . . . All regions, countries, areas, counties and towns over here can have, and use their own words of endearment . . .
I am intrigued, so how did Mike feel when he met your sister Jess ? Am I remembering correctly that you are a twin lol When are you both coming to the UK ? I can't wait to see what your vlogs are about. Love your work keep it up x
I actually met them both at the same time. They are not identical twins, though they do like a lot alike. Her sister is great and all, but when I saw Jess I just knew she was the one. As far as us coming to the UK hopefully in the next few years. Our main focus now is getting out of debt. Our oldest son turned 15 today, so we need to get him a car by his 16th birthday. His brother is right behind him. Our lease is up here next May and we want to move into a new place if possible. Lots of things to save for currently. Hopefully before any of our kids turn 18 though 🤞
You clearly picked the right one Mike, you make a great couple. I hope your TH-cam channel keeps growing and growing and the income helps with the debt situation,
@@RNTV I would wait until they're 18 as then you can all enjoy a pub. Hope all the targets happen though, its good to have a clear vision of what you are after when it comes to money. And belated 15th to your son, hope he enjoys it! All the best Frank.
She has got a talent, and can be funny; but I wouldn't go to see her. Way too crude, and relies on shock value. Not the UK's best export; though worse "comedians" have done big tours in the US.
Mike , totally agree with you, Jess is the wife we all dream of finding, for you the dream has come true, lucky you 😍x

For some reason I call all animals and pets "Sausage" 😂
As a Geordie, I will add Bonny Lad and Bonny Lass
A strange one where I'm from is c *ck, it's a generational thing but I've definitely heard it used.
A neighbour calls me hinny, a term not used much these days
What happened to "twinkle"?😊
I want people to tell Sarah that you're coming to the show. Your faces if she picked you out (Jess' in particular), would be priceless.

When she said Bairn that’s a North England term for very young child.
NIce one, I'm sure you'll have a great time watching Sarah live.
I love her calling people 'flower' and 'pet'. It's a northern thing. Here in the Midlands we say ' me duck', 'love' and 'chuck'.

It's like pet. Others don't know it's short for petal.

The sound is terrible. You're laughing just when she is speaking so its hard to understand what her comeback is.
I dunno if the americans will not like Sarah's tribal english. They may be a bit prudish in Nashville
