Arguably, one of the best non-superhero/villain characters in the DCAU. She showed that one does not need gadgets, superpowers and/or fight skills to be a badass.
This is still my favorite version of Lois. She’s just so smart, and Dana Delany is so great in the role. I can see why she frequently returned to it after STAS.
One thing I noticed while re watching Superman: TAS is that Lois is very passionate about getting truth out, wants to see justice done and see people treated right. Unlike most version I can see why Lois and Superman would fall for each other.
Wish the show had develop Lois and Clark relationship even futher, with her coming to learn about Clark secret and the two getting married. I feel that moment is important since shows Lois, someone who always stand for truth, at first having difficult to accept that Clark lied to her but, in the end, comes understand why he kept his powers a secret from others.
Agreed, I'm doing a rewatch of the dcau, and Lois never discovering Clark's double life is probably it's single greatest failure and a real Achilles heel for stas in particular. Better grounds "Clark Kent" as a distinct character and earns Lois her reputation as the best journalist in the world. Without it, it leaves this gaping lie hanging in the air between them and makes the context of any relationship she and Superman end up having by justice league seem unbalanced
The creatives did admittedly plan on Clark Kent revealing himself as Superman in the end of JLU Season 2's "Divided We Fall", but changed their minds because it just felt way too obvious and cliche, far as I know. But even so, there are hints that Lois Lane already knew at that point. She just kept her restraint on that moment speaking of Superman still being "human".
@ Gets worse when consider that Superman shows up later in Batman Beyond and it's never revealed what happened to him and Lois, if they did got married or not. Considering how Bruce became old and loner, it would make sense for Clark to follow the opposite path, being able to get married and have a family.
@ Despite those hints, I feel not having Clark reveal his secret to Lois is a mistake, since it takes away his agency and development, with Clark realizing that, in order for him and Lois to work as couple, he can't keep lying to her. He needs to open himself and tell the truth, letting Lois finally know who he truly is.
@alexandrefrauches132 The matter with Starro also complicates things... personally, I prefer the 2.0 interpretation that Lois has already passed away peacefully at this point in time, which may even explain Superman's new look.
The relationship with Superman reminds me of the conversation Indy and his dad have on the Air ship. "You left just as you were becoming interesting." I really wish they could have played with that some more. I also like the brief fling she has with Bruce and the point he makes to Calrk about how she really likes half of each of them.
I loved this video...thank you. STAS doesn't always get the love that BTAS gets...but this is one aspect of the show that I'm very proud of. Dana was the best Lois ever and this video helps illustrate why.
I love alliterate names. They sound great in movies and TV shows. I find it weird sometimes when I'm looking at my name because I often forget that my name is alliterate. I prefer my married name ut for some reason I always see my name as my maiden name. It's so weird.
Lois is definitely, or at least since I am from Superman since born in the 90s 😂, portrait as a damsel in distress, maybe a lot of that started or was accentuate since/because of TAS 🤔🤔 Great video! New sub ❤
I love that take on Lois. She was insufferable during the 50's up to the 80's. They really took her back to her roots as a no-no sense reporter who wasn't pining 24/7 for Superman.
Lois Lane may have been kidnapped a lot, but she's definitely fearless and she's a very intelligent news reporter. In fact she's one of my characters ever!💜🎤
While Lois is Crazy in the comics, 😂you can see that, once viewed carefully... she has a strong will, integrity and want the truth above her own safety. She's usually the 1st thing we see in Metropolis before even heading to The Daily Planet!❤️ That said, Lous does have her issues of being headstrong, stubborn and often refuses the word no....she can be quite the asset that can help someone grow into a better person.
I find it so interesting that in the DCAU shows we got to see a lot of character growth. I can't really think of a lot of shows that didn't just reset in the next episode. Another one would be Men the animated series. That was great for seeing character growth without a reset in the next episode. I totally agree about her being able to help someone grow into a better person.
Ah, Lois Lane, the womanly definition of a true blue journalist who fierfeks around and finds out. 0:32: You should see her Superman Adventures tie-in comic wardrobe. Noticed that there's a bit more fanservice there compared to the show itself. 1:24: Reminds me a bit of Maxine Gibson from Batman Beyond. People still call her too whiny and a burdensome load on Terry McGinnis and Bruce Wayne... I suspected the critics never watched all of that show in production order, and haven't seen the show since vague memories of childhood if not teenhood. (Oh, hey, that comic book moment reminds me of S:TAS' "Monkey Fun".) 2:43: The character crutch, if you prefer. 4:18: And sometimes, other worlds like this one from "Brave New Metropolis"... no wonder there's a League of Lois Lanes (although their recent actions in My Adventures with Superman should have irked their Founder, Lois Prime... who may or may not be the same Lois in Batman: Caped Crusader). 4:50: Such an article would have been too groundbreaking, though. The fact that there are alternate parallel Earths out there means confirmation of Multiverse Theory, and the fact that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE with Multiverse Theory, even Godless universes, Nazi-ruled Solar Systems, worlds without humans... *so much to think about and ponder, for good and for ill.* 5:13: Sorry, My Adventures with Superman. 5:50: Heh, what new duds? 7:32: Was wondering when the definitive voice for the character would show up here. Alas, no mention of other roles like Vilsi Valar that S:TAS/Silver Age love letter Batman: The Brave and the Bold's "The Super-Batman of Planet X!". So, who's probably the next topic for a vid like this?
I'm thinking The Flash or Wonder Woman. But I also want to do some videos about Man of Steel and Batman V Superman at some point. There are so many things I could write about Lois Lane from the other shows and movies. Maybe I should do another Lois Video later on talking about them. Not comparing but just chatting about them. Also talking about Dana Delaney more. I really need to watch My Adventures With Superman. Someone else reminded me on here of that show. I'll pop it on my watch list and give it a go. You're right I think if Lois released her article it would have been too much for the public. :P
Been watching Stas with my friend lately, and he feels Lois in this series is too full of herself and not a good match for Clark. He prefers this series Lana Lang more. Personally I liked this take on her with the sharp wit and attitude. We also both laughed at the fact a so called 'ace reporter' like Lois can't pick up on Superman's real identity, but Lana did right away.
I liked Lana as well. I wonder why they didn't have Lois pick it up soon as well. I was having a chat with @serumlake the other day about The Star Wars films. There are so many of them. I don't think I could name them all anymore.
It is very weird to me that not only does she never discover Clark's secret, but she does go on to have a romantic relationship with Superman (Not Clark, Superman) We see in Justice league unlimited they sneak off together to have dates in private. I just look at that and laugh like "What are you doing Clark? You're just making things worse for yourself"
Well you think that if Lois ever dies or maybe left Clark for another man this causes Superman to go insane and murder people in ever very of Superman.
This is why I considered her the best version of Lois Lane of all. Also, what are your thoughts about Luz Noce... uh, I mean herself from My Adventures With Superman ?
@@aidanhever3369 Funnily enough, Mae Whitman, known as Luz Noceda's beloved Amity Blight, did play a young DCAU Lois in S:TAS' "Monkey Fun" via flashback.
I haven't watched that series yet. But it will defiantly be going on my watch list. Thanks for reminding me about it. I might talk about some of those characters once I watch it. :)

Lois Lane my hero without a cape.
@@MarySusanMearsas the old saying goes not all heroes wears capes.

She could voice any character and I would watch it.

There's also Lex Luthor and Lana Lang.

Best DCAU's Side Character:
1. Alfred Pennyworth
2. Lois Lane
3. Amanda Waller
4. Richie
That's a great team there.
The reason I think that some people see Lois lane as a damsel in distress is because they have read to much gold age superman comics.
