NICE! Did it turn out alright? I skate and have never sprayed my grip, did u use the adhesive? I'm gonna post a how to apply video to show how to get really sharp and clean results
Zach, are you still around? Interested in seeing the other parts of this tutorial but can't find them. I especially want to see how you avoid bleeding when stenciling.
Yeah it should, if you use good spray and it binds to the material well. I did a sweat shirt recently. Maybe ill put it up. Looks very good now that I use stencil adhesive
2 questions. 1. Do you have any tips and tricks to fix mistakes? Or are their any ways to prevent rips and tears? And... 2. What kind of paint do you use to print on t-shirts? Thanks.
the spray adhesive has a light tack and is just strong enough to keep the stencil in place for painting. you'll have more problems getting the stencil to lay against the substrate (the thing you're going to put an image on using the stencil) than taking the stencil off, lol.
I'd love too!!! how would u want them up. I think Ill make a slideshow video and have links or something. Ill figure out how. I have a lot of designs, and if u have requests i can probably make a stencil for you.
Yeah this is just for hand cutting and getting into stenciling, I also cut and design in photoshop and corelDRAW and use a Rowland Printer/Cutter (roughly 9000-16000 dollars, I could ask my boss) for huge layer.... as well as a high quality industrial laser cutter (Engraver) for single layer designs. I get to use this equipment cause I work at a custom graphic t-shirt shop. I understand simple... mate ;)
you can use anything to make a stencil, cardboard, regular paper, whatever. i used to make stencils on glass with self-adhesive transparent contact paper you'd use for shelving, bought at the grocery store. basically, if you can cut a hole into it it can be made into a stencil. that's not to say just any material will stick to whatever you want to stencil, but you don't need much to make a stencil, just some kind of paper (preferably, or card stock if you have it, but i've found that's harder to cut more intricate stencils), a way to cut it out (scissors or an xacto knife), some adhesive spray you can find in a lot of regular stores' craft department, a hobby/craft store or fabric shop, and some spray paint. i've found that the bullshit 'tee-shirt' spray paint you can get just suuuucks b/c it has a lot of bleeding around the edges as the cloth soaks in the paint (the stuff i used was just way to watery even doing very light coats. maybe you'd have better luck, but the stuff is expensive). i've had much better results using regular spray paint ~ i get a crisper edge and it doesn't fade too badly, though after several washes it looks like an old tee-shirt, lol. to lessen bleeding, spray paint on using light coats as you would paint anything else.... :)
there a lot of tutorials about how to make/cut/create a stencil, but you explain very clearly + fish eye = subscribed
So, did you go back and clean up the spray adhesive off the floor in the stairway or did you leave it for someone else to clean up?
When you were cutting the camera how were you getting through the regular paper or was it just stencil paper
yeah. of what and how do u want to get it?
Yeah it turned out clean the graphic i used was a cigirete with smoke and every thing thanks for the video

Can you help me understand the purpose of the spray paint as well as the stencil adhesive?
Could you do another stencil cutting video? Like, a face one? It would be greatly appreciated.
Awesome I'm glad to hear that! Hey, you should check my other stencil vid out so u can easily make your own images to stencil.
Great Job! Thanks!!
Could you do a vid on making T-Shirt stencils ?
How would you take it off the wall once it's stuck with the adhesive? Does it wear off on its own?

How many times can you use that stencil before it gets bad?

thanks really helpful
i have a rambo stencil but i dont now how to cut it
what is stencil paper for? and why couldn't you simply print onto the stencil paper directly?
stencil paper is more sturdy. Regular paper is flimsy and will screw up your painting. I personally use cardstock. Same results
you are great wow
Eat more HEMP! Happy 420!
