I’ve actually been meaning to comment at some point (meant to on the year end review but forgot-thanks, ADHD!) because I found you through Sleep Token reactions (loved your TMBTE album review, especially Euclid), and through you I discovered Bilmuri. Other than stumbling into Sleep Token last year, Bilmuri was definitely my favorite musical discovery of 2023. AND you also like Beartooth, who I also just discovered last year (2023 was a big year for new music for me, what can I say 💁🏻♀️) Anyway, THANK YOU for taking the time to do Bilmuri and for shining some light on Johnny’s brilliance. I really doubt I would have ever come across them if it weren’t for your videos (specifically the short where you lost it trying to say ABSOLUTELYCRANKINMYMF’INHOG), and that would have been fucking TRAGIC. So to see you immediately did a review for Better Hell made me so happy. Basically THANK YOU for taking the time to share this little hidden gem with people! 💜 🐗⚙️💪

I was waiting in front of my computer for the premiere last night. What a banger! Watching you react to it this morning just made me love it even more. That’s the Steve OG effect. 😊 I can never understand how Johnny writes these unbelievably catchy songs while not taking himself seriously at all. He makes everything look easy and effortless. He’s an eccentric and loveable genius! I’m always looking forward to watching your reaction to him. The joy you feel just makes me so happy ❤
Bilmuri only knows one thing and that thing is make HEATERS Also I’ve noticed that you’ve really appreciated the drums in the Bilmuri tracks you’ve listened to, and those are all Josh Manuel. You should also check out Issues, the band Josh used to drum for. They’ve got a pop/R&B style fused with chonky heavy riffs much like Bilmuri and The Home Team, so I think they’d be right up your alley.
I couldn't help but laugh when you just with full sincerity said "Yeah, thickness to that" talking about the guitars in the bridge, but all I could think was "Yeah my boy Johnny do be looking thicc in them jeans".
Listeners are super superficial sometimes. I turned down the band for a while mainly because i could not take the album covers seriously, especially the cover of 400LB BACK SQUAT made me think of hyperpop, which is just not my thing. I then saw an interview with Gabi, their saxophone player. Decided to give Bilmuri a new chance. Which i'm so glad i did, it's one of the few bands that manage to constantly try new things. But still keep their very distinct sound. How many rock bands dare to have Banjos, Sax solos, 80's Casio bell plucks and growls in the same soung? And they still make it work. Have yet to find a single track of their that i don't like. Better Hell is insanely addictive, and even if it's toned down to comparing to the Goblin Hours sound, it's just pure rock geniality through and through. A perfect alt-rock song. I love these guys.
