    Just installed my 5/16 Blox plenum spacer.After disconnecting the battery I didnt have to remove anything but the 10mm bolts, disconnected the intake from the plenum to be able to lift it and all hoses were still intact. I reused the 3 back bolts on the very top of the plenum and put them in the top front 3 holes as they were long enough with the large rubber washers provided in the pack. I put a dot a gasket maker in the rubber washers to help stay on the 6 top bolts. Make sure to take the 2 studs out that had nuts on them and replace with the bolts from the pack or you can back them out just enough yo get the original nuts back on,tightening them to the specified torque(If you tighten all the bolts and forget to attend to the studs, you'll end up with the famous whistle indicating a leak. Also remember to check that the rubber around the oil cap in not in between the plenum anywhere and you shouldn't have any air leaks. With a extension I hand tightened all of the bolts in the correct order , then nut driver then a final bump with the ratchet only using the weight of my hand instead of applying much force double and triple checking since one side being high will prevent the other side to torque down at the complete tightness.
    So far I noticed my car wants to growl more when slowing down to a stop. There's more throttle response , it seems like I can push Rpms faster with the pedal. I usually get a sort of hiss sound around 5-5500 rpm, now I get it around 4500rpm. And one more thing is my car seems to 'free roll' a bit easier, not slowing down as fast as it was while not mashing the gas at all.

      Glad youre happy with it! Yeah I had to do more steps because I replaced my OEM plenum gasket. Was all bent up and wouldnt seal properly.

      Static 90 That more sensitive throttle/easier to get moving means more power. It's not your imagination.

    I've seen that. In a more stock/mild application I would 100% say 5/16. But I'm revving to 7200 now and with breather mods more suited for upper rpm power so that's why I went with and my tuner (LMT) recommended 5/8

    Do u know if 5/16 or 5/8 is better for the Blox brand??? People say 5/16 is better but that’s with Motordyne

    • @OPDrags
      @OPDrags  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The size has to do with where you want your power band to be. 5/16 is popular because it's the more daily driver setup. You'll get good low to mid range power and that's where you're usually at for daily driving. 5/8 is for mid to upper rpm power. So you wont feel as much down low which is what people usually want so they go with 5/16. As far as brands go, I'd go with blox or Z1. Motordyne is way overpriced

      OPDrags thanks for the Info really helps, and I don’t think Z1 makes them I can’t find them, only the Blox one but Also I am skeptical bcuz everyone on the forums has mixed feelings about the Blox one but idk i just don’t want the plastic breaking off into my motor

    Which is bigger 5/8 or 1/2 spacer? And for the install you just unbolt the top plenum bolts put some silicone on the top of the spacer, sandwich it in there, and bolt it down?

    • @hiddenkard3101
      @hiddenkard3101 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      And do they come with extended bolts or do the oem fit?

    • @OPDrags
      @OPDrags  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      5/8 is bigger and yes the kits come with the appropriate extended bolts. Yes I just added the gasket maker stuff on both ends of the spacer and tightened it shut.

      I dont have it anymore. I installed the kinetix velocity plenum. But while I had it, i didnt have issues with it. My stock plenum had messed up threads or something and it would never stay tight so I kept getting vacuum leaks. So I replaced everything for the velocity plenum
