The ending is just perfect. The moment he saw the faces of his kids, he doesnt even care anymore if either he’s still in a dream or reality. All he wanted is to be able to see his kids’ face and be with them. I love it, some people dont like it tho. Lol
23:16 omg what a gem of a line. "They dream 4 hours a day but it's 40 hours dream time".. .. "so theyre all coming here to wake up" what a line to encapsulate those people perfectly
Just imagine that as a life hack, I need to learn a new skill, let me duck off for a weekend, sleep 8 hours, and train in that skill for 80 hours and surprise everyone out of nowhere. Especially being fully aware of and in control of it. It's similar (for good reason) to the effectiveness of the time inversion tech in Tenet, being able to do a mission over and over, forward and reverse and forward again, kind of breaks reality and causation.
i believe that the ending was real life… if you really notice cobb is wearing his wedding ring in every single dream, because mal still exists there, but in real life he never wears it. in the ending he’s not wearing the wedding ring… also michael caine said that christopher nolan said to him that every scene that he was in was real, and he’s in the ending scene
Congratz on being able to just say "Yeah, it toppled" there at the end. I've seen this movie multiple times and am in the same boat. I've really enjoyed your reaction!
I’ve watched this movie probably more than 10 times and never get bored because the more you watch it the more that’s unravelled and discovered. Which is what makes this a brilliant movie and my favourite of all time.
Inception is one of the greatest science fiction movies of all time. It was something new, fresh, unique, inventive, stylish, cool, edgy, hip, and updated such as the concept and themes. The story, performance's, music, images, direction, action sequences, and cinematography was spectacular and phenomenal. It also identifies and analyzes the boundaries of perception and perspective between reality and fiction. It was decent. To this day I still watch it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old. 😍😎👍💯
The catharsis was when Fischer held his Dad's hand and sobbed after seeing his Dad kept the toy from his young age from the picture. That was the 'idea' sticking and the inception working.
Iv watched this movie many times and I can’t lie there’s still parts I get confused but you guys did great understanding it for a first watch Christopher Nolan’s mind is crazy to me for making a movie like this lol
This movie is insane because it actually features some real aspects of how dreams work….. I’m sure everyone has experienced some of it, at least that „wait, am I dreaming?“ realisation. Since you seemed a little confused, Mal can be compared to an intrusive thought. Yes, in the real world she is dead, but in his memory/dreams her projection is vengeful and unpredictable because that‘s his view of her. Unfortunately he can’t control that.
I loved this movie because it gave a name to something i experienced a lot...never knew it was lucid dreaming and really a thing. amazing that nolan took that as the topic of his script. One of my favourite movies
Cobb waking up in the plane is a stellar performance. It's all facial expressions and looks, but you really see and feel how disoriented he is, looking around, oh it's the airplane, having been so far down for so long. And then the flight attendant saying "Hot towel, sir? We'll arrive in Los Angeles in about 20 minutes." really brings you back. And just thinking how long Saito was down there.
just to help you guys understand a little bit: - the first dream, they’re going into fischer’s subconscious and the dreamer is yusuf, he has to stay in that layer because if he leaves, the dream collapses and he has to do the kick to wake them up. - the second dream, also fischer’s subconscious, the dreamer is arthur, he also has to stay there, the same thing as yusuf. - the third dream, also fischer’s subconscious, the dreamer is eames. - the limbo is the last “layer”, it’s not inside anyone’s subconscious, they just see what was left there by the last person who was there, in their case it’s cobb.
also, when fischer opens the fake safe, he sees the testament but most importantly he sees the pinwheel, the same pinwheel that was in that picture of him as a kid with his father, meaning that they implanted the idea in his head that his father truly loved and cared for him, and wanted him to not follow in his footsteps
This movie gets better and better with rewatches. I always notice something new, or view a scene in a new way. And I love how the dreams all feel like their own self-contained adventures. Plus, every member of their group had a role to play, which made me cheer for each of them!
When you see the movie again, look at Cobb's hands and you can see that in dreams he doesn't have a ring and when he is in reality he does. that's when you can see if the ending is real or not. remember that cobb uses his wife's totem but if you think about it he has one, the ring. I think that totem belongs to the viewer.
Dude, love your guys's reaction. If you're new to Christopher Nolan movies or haven't seen any of them (and you enjoyed this one), I'd highly recommend: Memento, The Prestige, Interstellar, Tenet. They're all fascinating studies / commentary on "time" and "memory"
I have a disorder called narcolepsy. Basically my sleep cycle is all fucked which has impact on the timing of my rem sleep and impact on how I experience dreaming… and let me tell you it’s trippy, having regular sleep paralysis including hallucinations and also a lot of lucid dreaming. Lucid dreaming can be fun but also very disturbing. And if you are lucid you experience your dreams like reality and have increased chances of it getting saved in your long term memories. Basically you’ll be able to recall/remember those just like other „real“ memories. (Bevor medicated) It was like that for me on a frequent basis and with very intense dreams. You might be able to imagine that that had quite the impact on my daily life. Having to think and reflect on those crazy intense very real feeling experiences during daytime 🤷🏻♀️
This is the kind of movie that stays in your mind for a while after watching it. It made me question reality for a little bit after watching it for the first time! Genuine masterpiece
No we will never know if it toppled or not that’s the point… it was to show that it didn’t matter in the end because he got what he wanted So he made that his reality whether it was a dream or not.
Yes, we don't know if it toppled or not. But in the last seen he isnt wearing a wedding ring. When he dreams, he has his wedding ring on cause Mal is still there. But he doesn't where it whenever he isn't dreaming.
Inception is phenomenal. A movie with such complex themes can be easily botched in production but I think it was executed brilliantly! I have seen this multiple times and it still hasn't lost the ability to blow my mind. I am so happy you guys enjoyed it! Thanks for the reaction. 😊
I find it interesting that you kept referring to "dreamception" (or "inception") as "dream within a dream". The word _inception_ has nothing to do with dreams, but rather refers to the establishment or starting point of an activity. In the context of the movie, "inception" is the planting of an idea on someone (like Cobb making Mal think her world is never real, or planting the idea for Fischer to dissolve his father's company). The X-ception (X in an X) meme is actually derived from the title of this film. So I find it entertaining that you seem to know the dreamception meme, but not know its origin.
Same.... They kept unironically referring to dream withing a dream as inception despite not knowing that its derived from this movies speaks a lot about the cultural impact of this movie....
If you all haven't seen Arrival would you consider reacting to it, please? It's a brilliant, mind-bending movie. Thanks, guys, I think you're hilarious and I love your channel. ✌🏽
One of my top five movies, and I loooooved y'alls reactions. Sorry to see middle guy is sick, many well wishes to y'all in y'all's day! Loving the stranger things and umbrella academy, btw
Now that you've seen inception, time to watch Satoshi Kon's Paprika. Inception referenced that animated film a lot in the movie. Other hollywood films that drew inspiration from anime movies: Ghost in the shell (1995) = Matrix Trilogy Perfect Blue = Black Swan
To get you guys up to speed as well as to give more food for deeper thought, there's a popular theory that Cobb was the actual target of inception and the protagonist is Ariadne. Check it out!
As in, the goal was to get Cobb to let his wife go ? That‘s crazy, but then why would all the others be on board ? Or was it just Ariadne and Cobb dreaming together ?
@@a.j.1819 The theory says the whole thing was elaborate setup initiated by his father(-in-law?) Michael Caine with Saito and Fischer being hired actors to trick Cobb into thinking he was doing what he was doing. I've seen a very detailed video about this theory in Russian but not sure if there's any in English.
Was it that they grew old in Limbo but he had to convince her one later up that they were still asleep and that’s why they looked young on the train tracks?
If you like science fiction you should check out Battlestar Gallactica. It's a TV show and kind of know for being one of the best sci-fi shows of all time. It keeps you on the edge of your seat too.
Another great Leonardo DiCaprio movie that y’all should react to is Once Upon a Time in Hollywood it’s a Quentin Tarantino film based on true events but with a fairytale twist
Reminder that chromosomes do not change & biology is not a costume. Sterilization & mutilation should not be normalized or condoned, it is the opposite of self love & self acceptance.
you guys should watch in time with amanda seyfriend, justin timberlake and the guy that played the guy who they wanted to put the idea in his head it is an amazing movie please let me know what you think
Really enjoyed your reaction! This is my favorite film. In fact as a pre-teen, this was the movie that made me fall in love with films and complex storytelling. It’s so good. If you haven’t, please react to TENET!!!

Good Will Hunting is amazing. Robin Williams will be forever missed... 😣❤️

the whole use of "-ception" in memes and stuff came from this movie
Really great to see guy on right totally captivated and gets the story as it paces and introduce concepts and details.
I was so happy for him 😂😂🥰.

One of the few unique ideas in cinema. In such an amazing movie. Such a success 🙌
not really! it takes it’s plot from paprika (2006)
