A guy I cut for a long time ago would put chunks of carpet in the bed of his truck where his saws rode to keep the handlebars from getting worn down right there. And that will keep them from cracking longer
The Jb weld steelstik epoxy putty works well also.

Curious. Why no light bars? I've seen it said you won't run them but not why. Also those are good tips.
because they are not durable enough for my abuses and they tend to cut crooked more often.
Have you ever tried the Pro Safety full wrap?
I've used a couple saws that had pro safety on them.
