as a dedicated historic elves player, I can confirm "Elvish Elf" is a real card.

That slow transition was smooth i didn't even notice until the lawnmower started
Chekhov's Gun states that every element of a story must be relevant. That Lawnmower Elves wasn't a throwaway joke, it was a harbinger of the end times.
I got a real respect for elves even though I'm not a big fan of them. A good friend of mine used to play with elves all the time and put up really good matches 👽
I had the most fun playing Too Greedily Too Deep targeting Piru against a guy with 20 elf tokens on the battlefield in commander!

I've never understood why elves breed like manic rabbits in MtG lore. They're extremely long-lived as well, right? Feels like that would eventually cause major problems to the sustainability of their society and the environment.
It's not representing their rate of population growth mechanically the way goblins or eldrazi or soldiers might. Instead it is a representation of elf community and the unity of their culture through the natural world. Poking a goblin nest might get you attacked by dozens of goblins born and raised there. But poking an elf's home might earn the ire of every single elf in an entire world.
They breed like rabbits because they die so easily to removal.

One of these days, you're going to have to take the opportunity to play Mirror Entity (it's a Changeling with every creature type) and use its ability to pay 0 mana to turn your entire board into 0/0's.

Turn 2 I am going to play Heritage druid in to Collected company. Sweet, untap, upkeep, and scam fury, gg? I honestly can't wait for fury to be banned so I can play elves again.

Honestly an elfball player could just start throwing out fake mana dork elves and I probably wouldn't even notice.
