    @ 3:35 YUP it's got plenty of power. I put this to the test the other day and holy shit, hold on to your balls. This is the most underrated bike ever. This bike is beast. It hauls ass. I'm really enjoying my past 3 months with it as a new owner of a 2016 gsx s1000f. The best bike i've owned, EVER. So underrated.

    My review of the GSX-S 750 VS 1000
    I rode the 750 and was horribly disappointed. I felt like I was whipping a pig and wringing its neck to get much out of it. The 1000? Everything was right there in terms of power and push. Getting into triple digits was absolutely effortless.
    Between the two, I didn't notice any difference in handling

    Here's what I'd like. A gsx-s 750 with an aluminium chassis, fully adjustable suspensions and that's it. This 1000 version is very tempting though, everything is easy and comfortable, especially if you are small. It fits my size perfectly.

    According to cycle-ergo website, my 6-2" and 34" inseam body sees the following:
    2015 GSX-S750:
    17° forward lean
    70° knee angle
    73° hip angle
    2016 GSX-S1000:
    13° forward lean
    71° knee angle
    78° hip angle
    The 1000 has slightly more relaxed ergos. I'm sure if you wanted to play around with new handlebars, seats, and rearsets any of these factors could be made different.

    I went to Haslemere Motorcycles on Friday and tested both these bikes. I found the 1000 too much and I'm gonna go for the 750. I noticed really smooth downshift, thanks for letting me know it was the slipper clutch.

      Have you tried the new Kawi Z900. I tried one the other day and I must say what a great bike it is. It sits, power wise between the Suzi 750 and 1000 and it weighs slightly less than the 750. Steering is super quick and the handling is just great. It's suspension I think is superior to the Suzuki's, being sporty but compliant. Anyway, try one if you get the chance.

    Despite the extra displacement put it in TC 3 and it goes off like a rattlesnake. I heard what said about usable rpm when deciding between the two. Well low\mid range wins out on the street. Even in a straight line drag with the R1000 the S holds it own for a time before the R hauls it in. The 750 didn't have a chance. I can ride the litre like a nutter with TC on (using everything above 8000rpm where the bike just goes berserk) and lighting TC frequently. As for the brake play well it can be adjusted out easily and if you really want bite the 2018 has upgraded brake lines. Yea u would get use to it, it's called 'brake trailing'. Something every good rider knows. Yes the 750 has better stability mid corner but it don't take long to feel safe, secure and as u say 'planted'. The Z is totally blacked out. Yes, not advisable except on track (TC off). You aren't pushing hard enough, i can use all the RPM easily on setting 3, it's really hard to get it all wrong. Worst i had (so far) was a turn in low slide due to gravel mid corner at 140kms. I thought i was a cropper but TC saved the day. As for using the higher RPM It depends on what gear your ramping up in. I enjoyed your 2017 thoughts video. Ride safe spicy110.

    Why, in 2017, are all new bikes not all fitted with LED headlights? Kudos for Suzuki not having "winky" headlights, where there are two headlamps and it perpetually looks like one bulb is burnt out on low beam.

    • @bushpig6837
      @bushpig6837 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I hate led headlights with a passion. Cars flash you every time you go over a bump or the driver has their hand up shielding their eyes. How safe is that?

      @Birky_41 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed if not setup or cheap LEDs. I run them on my Tuono with no glare, no cars ever flash and a huge improvement in lighting. Almost comparable to my MV that ran a H4 Xenon

    as for fuel economy, if you ride both sensibly on a longer run the 750 would give you 60/63mpg ( well my old GSR 750 does)
    My 2015 Thou will get you 55mpg, however if you ride a little bit enthusiastically the 750 will drop to mid 50s easily, the Thou will go to mid 40s, unless you go really stupid they will go even further down on consumption obviously

    Believe it or not for the 2018 models the 750 is heavier and has a taller seat height. The 1000 has a little bit longer wheelbase and is a yad bit wider of course but not by much. Haven't been able to jump on the 750 yet but ever owner I've spoken too absolutely loves it

    The snatchy throttle is real, I've got a 2018 GSXS-1000Z and the damn thing is aggressive with the on-off. I really feel like it's mainly the extremely hard suspension. I had my suspension professionally tuned by Dave Moss, and I've felt a difference of how that throttle response affects the bike.

    I actually prefer the 1000 because it's more my kind of bike. I like bigger feeling more comfortable bikes and the 1000 fits me like a glove, I like the easy roll-on torque and even though it's 1000 I find I ride it slower than the 750. The 750 is a fantastically fun bike that begs you to rev the hell out of it, meaning I find I push it more than I do the 1000. The big thing for me on the 750 is the seat - it's too small!

    Just written off my GSR750 (2016 moto gp) so with the payout I've just put a deposit on the Matt black 1000z yesterday. Probably should of watched this first but that 750 was incredible. So I figured this would suit and I wanted more power and I felt too big on the 750. Can you adjust the front break leaver so it's more ....... well..... better!!??

    • @ndperson1
      @ndperson1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      DaveyBoy what do you think of your new bike vs your last one. Where I am it is super hard to get test rides. I have the 2015 US version of the gsr 750 (I bought it as a hold over just last fall for a steal). Sometimes I wonder if I would like just a bit more power (probably wouldn't need 1000 level performance for what I like but the new 750 probably is just that bit more). Anyway, I always wonder how manuverable the 1000s feep like compared to the 750s. Everything is about compromise, but it sure would be nice to be able to figure out what the 1000s really feel like (been riding 21 years on the road, but haven't got to ride one yet).

      Thanks

    • @FRESHValetingAndDetailing
      @FRESHValetingAndDetailing ปีที่แล้ว

      @@warriorfit7517 I can't really speak for the S750 as I've never been on one.
      The XJ6N was a great all rounder that suited my needs as a first bike. It was good at everything but not the greatest. It was easy to ride meaning it was easy to exploit its power and handling which became its downfall. It lost its fun factor and left me wanting more.
      The S1000 was the answer. It's a brilliant all rounder that will suit all of my needs. A bigger capacity bike was always going to be less involving and harder to exploit but that means it's always going to reward me as my riding experience and skills improve. Its suspension and brakes make it far better to ride on the twisties and its torque delivery brings a different meaning to drop a gear and dissappear in comparison to the XJ6N.
      Neither bike has given me any problems with reliability or build quality but I'd say the S1000 is better due to its brakes, suspension and super slick gearbox. But you'd expect that from a bigger, sportier bike.
      Fun factor is dependent on experience. You can exploit the XJ6N but that becomes its downfall, it leaves you wanting more. The S1000 will give me more as I learn to improve and exploit my skills as a rider. It is also dependent upon your riding style. If you prefer a quick and involving country road blast perhaps upgrading to the S750 would be better and a more involved ride for you. If you plan on longer journeys I'd choose the S1000.
      Comfort depends on riding style too, the XJ6N had a comfy seat, the suspension was not too firm (although the front forks didn't inspire confidence and felt a bit too soft at times) and the riding position was good. Its only downfall was I found it too revvy and buzzy for long journeys. The S1000 is firmer but still comfortable. The suspension and brakes give more confidence and feedback. But where it excels is high speed comfort. Its quieter, feels more refined and the power and torque make it effortless. I'd imagine the S750 being more biased towards a fun country road blast with a bit of city/town commuting as it has the suspension and brakes that the XJ6N lacks but not the power and torque of the S1000 making it more exploitable.
      I love the back to basics feel both bikes give. I don't like newer bikes with too many driving aids as I want the bike to remind me to calm down if I'm being a plonker!
      All are still more economical and cheaper to run than your average car. Although I will say I fill the S1000 twice as much as I did the XJ6N. But that could be down to the longer journeys I can now enjoy!
      I hope this helps. Ultimately the S750 will do everything the XJ6N could do, but better. If you plan on longer journeys then choose the S1000. Test them both and see which fits you best. I'm glad I chose the S1000 and I have zero regrets! Whichever you choose, ride safe and enjoy!

      I have two answers, if you think you can control yourself on it and you don't have a physical response to anger or a short temper. Then there is no reason you can't go for a 1000cc at your age, tho I recon the insurance would be high for the first few years.
      However and this is my second answer that is more opinion based.
      I too am 36, been riding over 13 years and have ridden a lot of bikes. I can honestly say 1000cc bike for the uk roads are IMO too much. You can never really use the engine, 2nd gear top end of the revs is licence losing speeds. The CBR650f is not a slow bike and I doubt in training you would have ever got close to feeling what performance it had to offer. I would also say unless you have a lot of experience on larger cc bikes already somehow, there is no way you will be getting a standard 600cc anywhere close to its limits, keeping in mind our roads are full of corners. It is the classic don't try and run before you can walk.
      It is not simple to answer as i don't know your personality and skill level so please take no offence, I have just tried to cover all bases.

      Im getting my first big bike this week
      and I'm thinking between the cb650f and gsx s750 ( both 2018 models )
      do you have any inputs about these two bikes. And what is your choice between them ?

    Hi, I didn't understand, in the video you say that the 750 is lighter but on the technical data sheets it is the opposite: the 1000 weighs less. So, despite the fact that the 750 weighs more, is it more agile on the go than the 1000?

    I never really understood the allurement of a motorcycle without a windshield. I've tried and owned several, and being blasted with wind and wind noise isn't much fun. How do you pro-nakeds mitigate or deal with this, or rationalize it off as a pro to owning a fairingless/windshieldess bike over something that has some protection?

      You're never going to really find a bike that's intended for your height. That's why I own a Supermoto it's the tallest bike pretty much. I can't add anything other than what I've said in this video as it was so long ago. But my opinion was that the 750 is definitely the better bike. @@spicy110 personal weigh will never influence how the actual bike feels versus another. Sure the suspension will react to rider weight but if anything due to its softer, less adjustable nature, this would only go to make the 750 feel even heavier. Don't take it so personally, no need to go getting all defensive. You are a vlogger in the publics eye and post publicly for folk to comment. For your info, i have the 1000 and my Mrs, the 750 and therefore not just sat on a computer✌
