Cool, looking forward to the trailer review, we are about to have our first baby too and it’d be nice to find something that will work with my road bike.
Jasper, believe me when i say this, take a small bidon with only water to throw on yourself. if you can have a head scarf or cycling beanie, it will greatly improve your feeling in the heat. because the thing that heats the most is the head! the water on it will serv you as a heat exchanger. you'll not believe how fresh it feels when you have some wet tissue over the head. the heat gets evaporated in the air by capilarity. the piece of tissue provide a bigger surface area. throwing water directly on yourself is good too but works only for few minutes. you get dry fast and overheat again. just don't forget to keep watering it on a regular basis with the dedicated bidon. the extra weight carried will out benefit you in terms of feeling during these hot rides.
Love the new format. Thanks for letting us see into lifestyle. I offended wondered how you cycled around the world. So you're a pilot. That explains it. Very nice!!
Very motivational video, Jasper. I thought my life was too busy. I work at the other side of the spectrum. Im an AF guy at Northern Cal TRACON. At least I satay in the same building the whole time...lol Great job on keeping everything together man!
Wow,two stripes on your shoulder.....a pilot! Great! That explains all the wonderful places you show us! And you not only check the plane, you also can check that your bike is onboard!(my nightmare:Bikecase lost!) Wonder how you get that stuff together with family and the high effort of training.Respect. Will definitely follow your channel ,cause i’m a cycle fanatic!🤙
0:25 There used to be somebody where I worked who rode an old bike with cottered cranks that were at an angle of about 120 degrees from each other. They rode the bike like that for probably a few years!
And I am sitting here bitching about my daily 12hour djob!!! .... somtimes u got to suck it up and do your intervals. I AM ADMIRING YOU JASPER MORE AND MORE. Truely a great inspiration.

First off Love my Cycling Fanatic kit!!! My young son and I live watching the vlog but really got caught off guard with the language on this one. Part of the allure to your channel and VC has been family oriented fun but have noticed a bit more cursing in the vids from both parties. Don’t know if it gets overlooked during edited or it’s intentional for the masses. I would love to continue watching the videos w/ my son. Just my opinion
I didnt realise you were a pilot! I am shit scared off of flying takes a lot for me to get on the plane, stupid l know.great vid,you have endless energy.
What saddle do you use Jasper... I’ve been having some trouble with my saddle a Fizik so now I’m trying an Adamo Saddle . Hope you Daisy and Sam have a great weekend 🤙
I'm on fizik too but just because I had it laying around. Get a saddle fit at a bikefitter would be the best idea. asking somebody else what they ride doesn't provide you any good info, its too personal

Jasper Verkuijl thank you! That’s fantastic! I have tarmac 2016 and planing to try bike with disc brakes. People saying they are pretty good. ;) thanks waiting for answer. 👍
Indeed. I ride a quite lower-end Endurace CF SL 7.0 Disc (full 105). It's my first ever carbon bike - always rode aluminum before - and it's such an amazing bike. I started riding and training hard since last summer and at this point I'd say that I'm as good as the bike. I'm sure that an Aeroad CF SLX 9.0 Disc must be one hell of a bike. VC also rides one, which says a lot.

OMG go disc. I ride an Endurace CF SL Disc, not an Aeroad but riding disc brakes in the mountains, you can bomb down anything and feel supremely confident. The braking is so superior and easier it's hard to even compare. So totally worth any weight penalty. Besides I've got a good 10 kilos on my body I would have to lose before thinking like a weight weenie about the bike itself 😂😂😂
Aren't you afraid practicing radical sports during layover, I'm atp also and I'm forbidden to practice radical sports during layover, although your videos are so amazing, keep posting. You rocks
Fábio Monjardim Riding a bike for training isn’t radical but racing could be considered so. It depends on what his company’s operations manual says. I have mentioned to him in past videos that racing Crits in LA is very risky business. Especially if he’s on a layover. Could be putting himself in professional jeopardy?
Jasper Verkuijl So how do the sprints go? I find guys can take big chances in the finale to not even podium. Maybe it’s a Green jersey fantasy for some? Keep safe. You make great content.

Guys from world tour don't eat just carbs.. Always with protein. It will make your blood sugar more stable and also you need protein. Protein is not just for bodybuilders lol.. Even cyclist needs at least 1g for 1kg of bodyweight. I mean good quality animal protein. Not protein from pasta... Look at last GCN video about nutrition. They eat even before TT eggs and rice. Not just rice.. Also pasta is not ideal carbs source. Full of gluten which is inflammatory.. Overall you can do huge gains if you change your diet...
@@jasperverkuijl I know that you eat protein as well. But I said that eating only pasta with ketchup before the race is not ideal.. Pasta is high GI food. So if you don't have something with it which will slow down digestion of that pasta it will spike your insulin a lot and then your blood sugar will go down too much. That's why pros are eating eggs with their rice. Because it is ideal source of protein and fats. Which will slow down digestion of that rice so there is no blood sugar crash.. Pasta only meals were popular like 20 years ago when they had no idea what they are doing. :)
