Yeah it's ironic that these allegations of being a bit of a lazy prima donna seemed to follow Beckham everywhere he went when fellow professionals always had huge respect for him.

@@Enscriptiv He put in overtime like Ronaldo practicing his free kicks and crosses. It clearly paid off as he was 1 of the best ever at both of them. Becks was and still is hugely under rated. His fame/brand took over his footballing ability but he got famous in the first place from his footballing ability. Top top player and was robbed of the Ballon d'Or in 2008. I've never seen a player whip those curled crosses into the box as well as becks from not far past the half way line. He worked his socks off in midfield out of possession as well.
Nobody worked harder on the field or covered more ground than Beckham. Todays squad couldn’t lace his boots are any of his team mates

order for questioning his commitment to Utd. A month after, partying in another country the night before training, calling in sick, lying that he wasn't out, being caught out and refusing to apologize to Utd Fanbase, his teammates and to his manager.
You can't make this up and Utd fanbase had enough of it.

I don't think it was the N.Ireland incident that riled up fans, it was his behaviour on the pitch vs Newcastle and Chelsea where he couldn't be bothered to stick a leg out to tackle. He made it so easy for opposition to bypass him, it was almost insulting to watch. He seems to think it's a personal attack on his ability, it's not, it's the entitlement to think he can get away with not trying to tackle players at utd. Ferguson would've had him eating dirt for such behaviour but Ten Hag hasn't held him accountable for it, he still started game after game which wound fans up even more.

His raw talent is plateauing. What he needs in his arsenal is HARD WORK. He also needs to regain his confidence and focus.
In all seriousness, the English media do not objectively watch Rashford play. Rashford is only effective on the counterattack playing off the opposition right back’s shoulder with balls into space. And even that positive element of his game is gradually decreasing as he gradually loses his pace. Luke Shaw being out for most of the season, as well as Malacia being out for the entire season, exposed the glaring deficiencies in Rashford’s game. He needs an overlapping naturally left footed left back to create space for him on the overlap to allow him to cut inside and shoot. Without the threat of the overlapping naturally left footed left back, his game was completely neutralized this season because opponents know he doesn’t have a left foot and all of United’s fill in left backs (Dalot, Wan Bissaka, Lindelof, and Ambrabat) are naturally right footed and have to cut back onto their right foot instead of providing first time service
Excuses. He still lacks effort and desire no matter what type of side suits him.

I’ve watched him play every game this season my friend. He has been terrible. Runs into players, loses the ball, decision making is that for an academy player… having said that this is nothing new with him. Been overhyped and overrated

It's not just the club, though, it's football in general. Cap Rashford's salary last season when he was on fire and you'd risk him going to PSG for double the money. Would be great to lower everyone's wages, but Man Utd doesn't exist in a vacuum.

What a legend Phelan is. Rashford just seems to carry the world on his shoulders. He either needs to learn to use it as fuel on the pitch, or forget about it when he steps over the line

People still talk about Rashford as if he’s still some young work in progress who needs cosseting. He’s 27 in October. By that age Rooney had won 4 prems and a champions league.

Rashford, the summer before last, went to the states to train properly before going back to work, bulked up and got ready for pre season. He had a great season as a result. Sadly, he wasn't prepared to do this every summer as a result he's now out of the England squad and struggling big time at his club. He's lazy, it really is as simple as that.

Phelan thinks ten haag shouldn’t get more time but Rashford has had arguably 3 good seasons in almost 10 years and deserves more time? He missed games as a result of partying was out “injured” a lot and was partying after big losses, I think if you gave the average person Rashford talent they would be a lot more willing to put in the hard work than Marcus has been this season he should count his blessings

Ten hag is getting an easy ride. injury's were awful this year. but he didnt adapt the tactics and formation, or try new things. He stuck to 4-2-3-1 until match 36. Hojlunds young, forcing him to play every game instead of taking him out of the firing line, and playing bruno false 9 etc. Ten Hag is a one trick pony.

Rashford is 26, how many players improve as they get older? He’s passed his peak! Maybe time will prove me wrong?
He will always have good goal scoring runs and then bad ones too, his overall ability just isn’t there relative to a true world class attacker. Which is why his numbers were an over achievement last season and I was one of the few who acknowledged it 😂. Too much of what he tries just doesn’t come off and the vast majority of his successful attacking play comes from counter attacks…providing he still doesn’t mess up his touch, cross, finish etc. Hes nearly 27 now right? This is his level

Yes, his goal tally looked good at the end of the campaign but, in terms of performances, he was poor in all but a couple of games before The World Cup, then played well for the next couple of months(mostly in cup games) but then went back to being poor again and had an awful last few months of that season and has been getting worse and worse ever since!
I hope we're not going to have a whole summer of people saying rubbish along the lines of "Rashford is just going through a blip and will soon be back to being the world-class superstar he's been for all but one of the last eight years".
Rashford has been mostly-poor for seven years and particularly awful for 15 months and counting and I just don't understand why some people can't accept that this promising teenager hasn't trained-on and is clearly not good enough for a club with United's ambitions.

At the age of 26, Marcus Rashford still isn’t fulfilling his potential at Manchester United and there’s a feeling that he needs to be held more accountable for his performances this season especially after getting dropped from the England squad at the EUROs. Even though he had a very good game in the FA Cup final, similar to the team, it doesn’t mask up how poor of a season he had. If it’s all about that game, then why was he left out of the England squad. For majority of the season, he’s not been good enough and for someone who’s on massive wages earning 250k a week, his performances never truly justified the contract he was on and he is one of the most overpaid players in the premier league. Following a season where he has 30+ goals in all competitions, he’s the only one that can have that sort of a season and then the next season, he looks mediocre and has 8 goals. What a drop off and there are many factors they’ve contributed to his poor form such as laziness the team’s performance and him taking his foot off the gas after they giving him a big contract, you expect a lot more from someone who has a lot of ability. What a player like Rashford can benefit from is a change in scenery and environment in the summer. Maybe Manchester United isn’t the right fit for him and both parties might need to consider moving on from each other if there’s no signs of him getting back to his best. If they want to offload him it depends on what club actually wants to sign him because if no one can afford his wages, he’s better off going to Saudi Arabia then and that I don’t see happening. The best thing that he’s doing is taking a break from social media and while that makes sense since a lot of the fans are abusing him and he has been a target of criticism, when you’re a player that’s just coming off the back of a poor season dropped by the national team in a major tournament and face an uncertain future at club level, I’m pretty sure that the last place that he wants to be is on social media where you’re making yourself more open to criticism. He has to get his head in the right place and find a way to rediscover top form whether it’s at Manchester United or a different club.
