Great job mixing the different board slides; curb and coping. Could take it back a notch to board stall and rock. These all work together. Great curbs.
He's on the game! He's John Bishop learning how to skate, ...STREET? Nice one John you'll be hitting the rails soon!! Giving old Bloks hope since way back!
You make it look so easy! I used to be able to do these but then broke my elbow doing it and been scared ever since. I know I need to give it another go so good timing with the video 👌
Good work as always. This is on my list to get back. One thing I noticed if I may is your push. You push with your front foot in the riding position which makes your push look awkward. Try pushing with your front foot aligned with the board, toes pointing forward and then pivot the foot like stepping out a cigarette into riding position. Also do the revers when you push again or want to heel drag and stop the board. Spend some time pushing and carving around the street section to find lines just like you find lines I a bowl. I am no expert but I do feel that I have a good push 😂
Thanks for the tip, yeah I usually push the way you describe, but here the run up was short and I wanted full confidence for the slappy bit. The best line was rolling in, but it was too scary to start with !
Awesome progress John👊👊,great to watch you…..try coming at the rail side on (zero inertia to overcome and you’ll naturally lock in the slide motion easier) opposed to a more front angle, which creates an awkward motion to counteract.Great video and very inspiring to watch. Thanks for sharing 🙏🙏🤙🤙
Thanks for the tip dude, yeah I think as the session progressed I got more confidence and went at it more side on by rolling down the bank? I recon I’ll try going exactly in line by getting on the opposite direction as there is not any bank to negotiate. The bank makes it so I had to slappy on from the side.
Thanks for the comment. Yeah I don’t think I’ll be making tutorial videos about skateboarding any time soon. I’m 50 years old and started 5 years ago so don’t have the experience or expertise 😂 The videos I make are logs of my progress in real time as I try to learn stuff. The title of the video is Learning To Slappy Boardslide, and at the start I explain what I’m doing and then show all of fails and falling off as I go. I am very mindful of being honest and I like to think I couldn’t make it much clearer what the video is, but if I wasted your time I apologise and would prefer to direct you to the numerous channels of pro-standard skaters who produce how to tutorials.
That curb looks perfect. I learnt slappy crooks and 50/50 last summer and would love a curb like that to play on.
Yeah dude, I’ve got a bit addicted to it 😂
Love it!! Keep goin for it!
Awesome work Jon! This curb is a perfect place for the backside feeble to be mastered by your gracious expertise. 🙏😊
Thanks Dude, yeah couldn’t quite get the feel of it, last time out ?!
Omg playing guitar as well ❤❤
Great progress there man!! 🔥

Yeah dude, I found coming off was a bit uncomfortable. I couldn’t get the confidence to try without an elbow pad as I thought that could happen!
dope

Where is this Jon? ❤
Hey there, It’s the new bit at Concrete Waves 🌊
How much wax on curb?
Not sure? I didn’t wax it, but it definitely had wax on it??!

That’s crazy you just learned this and then trying to do a tutorial on it. Give yourself a few years to get it down more maybe?
