This is the life I want when I retire, travel around with my husband, not necessarily fancy or expensive by any means, just driving down the road wherever it takes us, what a beautiful couple ❤️
Now that is a great plan!! I’m like you just don’t make plans and see where it takes you. Love it that way and hope to do more in the future if we can. Thank you so much! ❤️ hope y’all are having a wonderful wonderful weekend 🥰
Thank you for beautifully showcasing Galveston. It is one of my favorite places to go, sort of a home away from home, and you perfectly captured it's whimsy and authenticity.
Wow! Thank you for your nice comment. We love Galveston and dreaming to go back soon. Next month hopefully. Enjoy it there Helen! And glad it was spared with the recent storm that came through. Have a wonderful week.
OMG I just loved this video of you and your husband. When I looked at the thumbnail of the video I got a totally different impression of you guys. I thought it was gonna be elegant and upscale restaurants. But when you started off the video from Bucees, I knew that you were my kind of people. You are so down to earth and real, I feel like I could be eating with you at all of your favorite places. My son used to live in Houston, and if I had seen this video while he was there, we would have definitely taken a trip there for a few days. Thanks for sharing your amazing adventures with us, and letting us know some of the best places to eat. tfs
Hi Dez!! Yes we love to travel. But haven’t done any international and that’s what we love. I guess we will just hang around here. Lots a food here. ❤️
OK Heba and Shawkat how the heck do you guys stay so thin?? lol. The food has me drooling 🤤 all over my phone. Those shrimp!! The white sand beach! What a vacation! I love how Shawkat describes the food. He sounds like the chefs on the food channels. He makes it sound all so decadent..🐙🦂😋 I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed your video. It was like Calgon....it took me away. 😉☺❤
Lol I am not thin lol. But thank you for saying that. We do like to eat 😊 and when it’s fresh seafood yes please. So glad you enjoyed this video. It was fun to make but a week to edit lol. Thank you dear friend. Love you! Have a wonderful week! 🥰❤️
Love Galveston. It may not have blue water but it’s a wonderful beach. And has great food. Hope you can go back. It has changed. Have a wonderful week! ❤️🥰
Yay! What a wonderful time y’all will have. Thank you for watching and letting us know. Hope you like these places as much as we do. Darlene’s Shrimp Shack did upgrade their food truck so that’s great. Have fun and enjoy your time together 🥰
Yay!! Y'all will love it. It's sad the Ronnie the owner passed away in an accident. But Maceo will live on. And their spaghetti on thurs is good too! Enjoy!
NOT RESPONSABLE FOR MOUTH WATERING? YOU OWN ME..🤣🤣🤣EVERYTHING LOOKED DELICIOS! GLAD YOU DON'T COUNT THE LB🤣🤣THAT IS HOW THE RAIN LOOKS? DIDN'T SEE IT IN A LONGGGGGG TIME! HEY...DON'T FLY! THANK YOU FOR TAKING US ALONG! WAS A LOT OF FUN!🤗😘😘
Yay! So glad you liked it. We were there last month and noticed he upgraded his truck. That is great! Thank you so much for letting us know! Hope y’all had fun too 🥰🥰
We spent 10 days in Galveston on vacation and ate amazing food to our hearts content all over the island The crazy thing is all the options in this video will be new places for us on the next trip. Great video. This is our kind of travel 👍🏼
Yay that’s great you will have new places to try. We are glad to help. And we have been going for decades and still there are new places for us to try. Glad yall had fun! Thank you so much for commenting. Happy travels
You both are adorable. And I can see your kindness in your eyes! Checking out this video because I’m planning a trip to Galveston! I’ve never seen the ocean so I’m excited! Thank you for all the recommendations!!
Thank you so much!! You are so kind to say this. Thank you! You will have so much fun there. It’s not the blue water but love the beach. Enjoy and hope you like the places to eat as much as we do. 🥰
Omg!! Yay. I hope you like it as well as we do. We went back a few weeks ago and had our platter again. Lol. Let me know good or bad. No worries. Enjoy!! ❤️🥰
Heba.....I love to eat! This video was just up my alley, I enjoyed you and your husband showing us around, now I want to visit.....whenever you visit Florida (Naples) I will take you to my favorite place to eat, I also love a bit of spice in my food....have a wonderful week take care
Yay I will take you up on your offer Angela! We love to eat as you can see. Lol. This video took a week to edit. Whew lol. So glad you enjoyed this video. Have a wonderful week my friend! 🥰🥰
Thank you for sharing your favorite places in Galveston! I am planning a return trip in early October and that is how I found your channel. :) You are both fantastic together. I enjoyed your friendly, down-to-Earth approach. I will definitely try many of your suggestions. I want to also say that I have greatly enjoyed your other travel vlogs, too. After this video I checked your channel (because I just knew I would like what you had to share). Imagine my joy and surprise that you did the Italy trip….easily one of my favorite countries to visit. It has been so many years since I have been there and watching your videos transported me back and inspired the aspiration to travel to the Amalfi coastal area (bucket list!). Pompeii has changed since I was there last. There wasn’t as many tourist barriers. And the food….*groan*….there is nothing like true coastal Italian food. You both nailed it in your descriptions: fresh, al dente, etc. And the gelato…..sigh. Yes, nothing like real Italian. (I am getting carried away!) I hope to see more of your trips, even the weekend getaways are wonderful! Thank you for sharing your experiences and thoughts. (Yep, Egypt is on the bucket list, too; but especially the Red Sea resorts like you shared!) Heba, thank you for sharing your story about your family and how you became a TH-camr during you Q&A. My heart goes out to you and I wish you and yours abundant blessings. Now, I really must go….I have more Heba videos to check out! :)
Oh Denise you are so so kind! Thank you for your wonderful words. Hope you enjoy your trip to Galveston. And we love Italy. Really want to back but doesn’t look like in the near future. My bucket list is Austria. Maybe someday. For now we will do some weekend trips. Texas has a lot to offer. Lol. Thank you it has been a rough journey but every day is a new day. Sorry it took awhile to reply. I’m in Denver visiting my brother. No vlog for this one lol. Again thank you and hope you are having a wonderful wonderful weekend ❤️❤️❤️
Yay! So happy to hear. They are delicious and they upgraded the truck since the video. We weee there in May and tried a new flavor. I think it’s garlic onion shrimp and now that’s my new favorite. Hopefully we will try again next month. Thank you so much for letting us know. 🥰🥰🥰
Just found your video; we are from Houston (Cypress) and will be celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary in two week in the Galveston area (staying in Jamaica Beach). You guys are adorable and we can't wait to try the restaurants in this video! Thanks so much for such a great video! Blessings to you both! Elizabeth and Michael (LivingTheAlleyWay).
Happy anniversary!! Thank you so much!!! Hope you have fun there. And that you enjoy the places to eat. We can’t wait to go back there. Miss the beach and the food lol. Enjoy! 🥰
Omg Buckeys bbq sandwich looks amazing. When I was traveling the country 20 years I went all over Texas but I’m not sure if I had seen a Buckeys then. You and your hubby are absolutely adorable 🥰
Their bbq sandwich is very good. Very tasty. I believe it came about around 2008 and now it’s everywhere in texas and going to other states. Clean bathrooms too. Lol.
Heba, we are leaving Monday morning with a large group of friends and headed to Bangor, Maine on our motorcycles. I will definitely put our trip up on my Instagram stories. I am excited for the seafood, because when we travel, good food is a priority. 🤣🤣 I loved this video, such a great idea! Glad you shared. ♥️♥️
Thank you so much Kirk! Galveston will be great for retirement life. We are counting the days or years I should say lol. Success to you as well. Enjoy!
Thank you! Paige! Editing this made us so hungry again lol. Love sea food. And only eat it while near the water. At least I like to know it fresh lol. Hope you have a wonderful week! 🥰🥰
Big Thumbs Up! Omg! Food! Omg! I'm going to be dreaming about it all tonight. You two adorable ones sure know how to vacay. This was so much fun. Thankyou to both of you for sharing this with us. You are the cutest couple! Hugs!🤗🤗
The food still makes me hungry. Thank you Mary! It was fun and so relaxing. Much needed. But still wish we can travel more like before. Oh well. So so glad you enjoyed this. Love you and hope you have a wonderful week. 😘😘😘😘
Heba you pass my hometown when your going to Galveston, Texas City. Well I was born in Galveston so I’m officially BOI-(born on the island)…Oh yeah we always stop at the Buckey’s in Seguin when we are heading to Texas City. I always have to pickup some Peppered Beef Jerky to ship to my grandson and a couple of BBQ sandwich’s for the road and their house fried potatoe chips, yum yum. Galveston does have some great seafood restaurants, that’s what I miss the most, the fresh seafood we could buy in Seabrook to cook at home. Didn’t know how good we had it till we moved to the Hill Country. That Cajun Greek I’ve never tried now I’ll have to go when I head that way in November, my daughter is flying in so I can take her to her Neurologist follow up appointment. What Condo would you recommend staying at? You made me crave seafood now.❤️❤️
Oh wow. A born on the island girl. I’m sure the Hill country has great food. But love Galveston. And yes you have to try Cajun Greek. And it depends on where to stay. Our condo has a minimum of 6 nights. But the Galvestonian is good. And the hotel galvez I heard is nice. And San Louis is nice too. Love going in the fall and winter. I want to go back lol
We love Galveston! Thank you so much for sharing this video, now we have some great new places to try out. We travel in our RV so we do a lot of our own cooking but sometimes we like to eat out. This review gave us some great choices that fit our diet. Again, thank you so much for sharing!
Thank YOU! So glad this video was helpful. We love Galveston too. Going there next week lol. How fun to travel in a RV. Yes sometimes we need to go out to eat and hope you like these places. Have fun Suzanne! 🥰😊
Overall pretty solid suggestions. But to add to that, y'all have to try: - Benno's - Gypsy Joynt - Penney's - Mama Teresa's Flying Pizza _ Mr. Taco - Nollan's food truck park (I'm sure there's a couple I'm forgetting)!
Thank you! Actually we’ve tried Benno’s many times and it’s good but haven’t been in a while. And just tried Gypsy Joint last month when we went They moved to a new location off 61sr and had their pizza. It’s so good. And my husband had one of their burgers. Delicious too. The new place doesn’t look very Gypsy though. But haven’t tried the others you suggested. But will definitely try them when we go back in a couple of months. Thank you so much! Oh and you remember any more please let us know. Thanks! 😊
We have been there several times. Just waiting for the construction to finish there. Haven’t tried Millers for breakfast. Dinner yes. Pretty good. Thank you!
Thank you so much for being here! Love Galveston! And these are really good restaurants. Always nice to see new things. Glad you enjoyed it and thank you again. Enjoy your weekend ☺️
Oh it was so fun to do this. I think we are a lot. But so good. Love seafood as you can tell. And enjoy doing travel vlogs. Miss traveling. Love you habibti and sending hugs and blessings to you all. 🥰🥰
Lol thank you Sue!! It was fun. We love doing travel vlogs and since we can’t travel like we have which is awful we thought we might do little trips. And since we love going to Galveston why not. Lol. Come on down here. Texas is a wonderful state. Thank you so much! ❤️🥰
I LOVE to go anywhere with you, and your husband Heba!!! This was so much fun. I was beginning to wonder how many days you were gone, lol. So happy I just finished lunch, or I would be starved. Blessings, and love...MaryEllen
Come on!! It would be so fun. We were there for 9 days. So fun. So relaxing. And since we always eat and go to beach and don’t go to the touristy spots we thought this would be fun. Miss traveling especially in a plane. So glad you enjoyed it. Happy Monday MaryEllen. 🥰😍
Love the video. We live in Oklahoma City but make it to Galveston several times a year. (We buy the year long parking on the sea wall- when we started doing that we decided it’s official we go too much!) You hit most of our favorite spots. Don’t understand why Gaido’s never makes these kinds of lists though. We went to Galveston 3 weeks ago just because my wife wanted to eat there.
Lol yea when you go that much like us that is a better deal lol. I know, Gaidos is good but not my favorite unfortunately. That’s ok. Everyone has their favorites. Last time we’ve tried is was 10 years ago and haven’t been back. But I hear ya wanting to go just to eat. We’ve done that last year. Drove one day to eat at Sunflower Cafe lol. Thank you so much! Enjoy!
You and your hubby are so good at telling the story you both could be historians or news reporters 🙂 you look super cute in a hat. I would love to meet you guys you seem like the nicest people. God bless
Thank you Therese! You are so so kind. Would love to meet you too. I think we are nice and we nice people gather around other nice people 🥰. Have a wonderful week! ❤️
Hi Heba, The spicy shrimp sounds wonderful. I've never seen a born on the island seafood platter like this before..Wow Maceo spice shop food looks so yum. Nothing like spicing up a meal. 🥰 xo At Willie G's, you were eating at the birds restaurant..lol
When we saw that platter we had to get it and been getting ever since lol. Love to eat seafood like that. And Maceo was a hidden gem. So glad we decided to try it. And now Mr Maceo has us for life now. He really is a genuine man. Those birds know where the food are lol. Thank you Robin! 🥰❤️
@@HebaS For sure, they know where the good food is and they can grab a fast bite flying by your table. lol This reminded me of the open restaurants in Hawaii. The littlest birds are walking around snacking on bits of food. 🤣 I love travel vlogs with you and Shawkat. Your are getting so good at filming them. xo
Oh that will be a wonderful time to go. I hope it will be during Dickens on the Strand. And lights at Moody Gardens. Thank you so much and hope y’all have a wonderful time!
I use to eat at Star Drugstore when I worked at Levy’s. And back then when you walked through the doors it was like walking back in time. They served cokes in the funnel shaped paper cups inside a metal cup holder. Also had paper straws. The only seating was around the preparation area. When I needed sone cough drops, I had to go to the back where the pharmacists were. I asked for my cough drops, and this elderly man got up on a ladder and took them out of a drawer. The whole back wall had drawers, made of metal. The lady time I was in there, was very disappointed. Someone had it filled with junk. It was never the same. I have no idea what it looks like now. It would be interesting to see it. Don’t know if any water affected the place during Ike. Anyway, just thought I’d throw that in. It was an awesome place. Will never forget it.
Just got back from visiting Galveston for the first time, and oh my, it is the foodie town! So many great places to eat!!! Loved Bu-cee's too, in fact i ate the exact samething you are eating!😂
Yay! So glad you had a wonderful time. Galveston is a great foodie town. Lol bucees is great. My brother from Denver always has to stop and ge the same food as well. Hopefully you can go back again to try more places! Thank you so much! ❤️🥰
My husband and i are obsessed with Galveston. We have been about 15 times. We like to go once a year at least. We love Willie G's! Also more touristy we love fish tales
Hi Bekah! Yes obsessed it a good word for Galveston lol. And Fish Tales is a great and tasty place that is touristy. Especially if on the second floor outdoor patio. So fun! Thank you so much and hope you enjoy it the next time y’all are there. 🥰😊
"Galveston was one of the richest cities in the country"....under the Maceo family (Balinese room, Gambling, alcohol during prohibition). The Maceo family and the Fertita family are intertwined and deep rooted in the history of Galveston. I believe Ronnie Maceo told us that he is the oldest living Maceo...he's super nice and hoot to talk to! Also, you mentioned Willie Gs..have you tried Fisherman's Wharf? Sit outside there as well and you can also sit right next to the Elissa, the 1877 Tall sailing ship!
Ronnie is a hoot! Been there several times after the video and we talk. Such a nice man. Very personable. But that is great history. Thanks for letting us know. The name I hear all the is Moody but not Maceo. Didn’t know they were associated with the Balinese room. What a time to live then. Yes we have been there several times to Fisherman’s Wharf and it’s good. But the last time was like 10 years ago. And it’s nice seeing the sailing ship there. Also see the big yacht that the guy who owns most of the restaurants there next to it. Lol.
Howdy Bourbon, from a 4th generation BOI (Born On the Island). When historians say Galveston was one of the richest cities in the country and the Strand was the Wall Street of the Southwest, they are talking about the days before the 1900 storm, which pre-dates the Maceo family's businesses here. Galveston was the world's larges cotton port at one time and was Texas's only major port before Houston was even a city. Galveston had, at one time, more millionaires per square mile than any other city in the country because of cotton. The HUGE "Cruise Terminal #1 is an old cotton warehouse that is about 4 city blocks long. It was but one of many. The millionaires of the day were the Moody's, the Sealy's, and the Kempner's, to name a few. Cotton, banking, shipping, and sugar came long before the Balinese, the Hollywood, or the Turf. I met Ronnie Maceo and his father back about 1976 when they had a place called the Turf, across from the Grand Opera House on Postoffice St. My boss, a steamship agent, took me thee and said I had to try a muffelata and drink a beer for lunch one day. I have been eating them ever since. Best with a Shiner Bock in my not so humble opinion. Sadly, Ronnie Maceo passed away a couple of years ago and Galveston is diminished.
@@HebaS Sadly Ronnie Maceo passed away in 2022 and with him goes a ton of Island personality. The Moody's were a banking, cotton, and shipping family in the 1800's when Galveston was the world's larges cotton port. The Maceo's came after the 1900 storm and operated several dinner clubs, and gambling establishments. The Balinese Room was still a great restaurant back in the mid 1970's when I first went there for dinner and a play. The Maceo's had also operated the Hollywood and the Turf. The new Turf was where I met Ronnie in about 1976 or so when he was notorious for having to chase the downtown bums and drunks away from the Turf's front door with a broom, to allow customers access. He was one of the people who helped revitalize downtown Galveston. BTW, the family still runs the Spice Company and I had a muffelatta from there (best with a Shiner Boch) last week. Great stuff.
Good morning Eddie! Love sunflower cafe and the staff are excellent! and I think you will like Cajun Greek. Will have to try shark shack next time we are there. Hopefully in the summer. Thank you for the recommendation. Enjoy your weekend
We agree with your picks, but you should try Mercadito Y Taqueria! The best food at this grocery store! After finding this gem, we ate there 2 times the last 3 days of our trip and every time since! Breakfast at America's Kitchen is great! Pancakes are awesome!
Thank you so much!! I know what you mean. We would eat at the same places. Even there lol. But we are trying new places. Hope you do try them and enjoy! Glad you are safe as well after Beryl 🥰
Love Galveston. Hope you like the suggestions we put. Of course there are many others we want to try but need to go more. Lol. What places do y’all like? Thank you Karla! Have a wonderful evening! 🥰❤️
Heba - we also love Russos Pizza! Amazing! For breakfast we really enjoy Star Drug which is good food and a fun atmosphere. We like Olympia Grill and the Wharf Restaurant. Our favorite Mexican place so far is Salsas down on the sea wall. There’s also Tortuga which is a good one. But we eat lots of Mexican food here in OKC so we try to eat other stuff on vacation. Fish Tales we ate at once and it was ok. There is a fun bar with good bar food over on the peninsula if you take the ferry over - it’s called Jugheads. It’s up on stilts. Great service, friendly people, good food and just a fun environment. We will probably do some new places this year. Most years we go down for a cruise but also like just staying which is what we are doing for awhile now.
We have been to and like mall you’ve mentioned especially Mexican food. Have you tried I think it’s called old next age? That’s also good. Haven’t been to jigheads but will try to go when the ferry isn’t 90+ minute wait. And Star Drug. Sounds fun. Thank you for your suggestions. I know what you mean about staying. Hopefully next year
Hi Heba, you guys sure made my mouth water with all that food. Lol Its great to see so many great recommendations to eat, you never know a future trip there could be in my plans. Thanks for sharing love
Hi thank you for doing this. I marked down each spot as I'm going there this spring. Can you guys recommend a couple of condos/hotels you like? The one you guys were in looked so modern and very clean . Thanks again.
You will have so much fun! Depending on how long you stay we were at Palisade Palm which has a 6 night minimum. Or the condo next to it The Galvestonian. Both are on the east side of the island. A good hotel is the San Luis Resort Spa hotel. Hope this helps. And have a wonderful time! 😊
Wow you guys are doing what my wife and i will do in the near future might even video some of it awesome job so glad i found you we are in Texas only been to Galveston once most of the time we went to Port A Corpus Christi Thanks for the info on food esp😅
That would be awesome if you did that. Especially to Port Aransas or Corpus. Love Galveston. Actually going back next week for Labor Day for a week. So can't wait. Will be checking other places as well. Have fun!! XOXO
BOI is born on the island. I remember the seaview cafe manuals marios on 61st. Hills seawall cafe. Boulevard drive in gaidos and the Golden Greek. Star cafe is still there. The strand isn’t the strand I grew up with. My grandpas business was at 1919 strand farmers Marine was next door on one side and the dry dock cafe was on the other. Best pancakes I ever had. Steves cafe across the street on the corner. Best &1.00 lunch ever. Cafeteria style servings.
Manuel’s was home of crab stuffed flounder. We delivered produce to all the restaurants in Galveston and all the grocery stores. Back before Krogers A&P and the corporate grocery chains ran the private stores out of business.
Great memories. I don’t remember the strand back then. I do remember the best poi boys in Pier 19. At least when I was a kid. Miss those types of restaurants
I know. gaidos is an icon there. But to be honest not my favorite. I know a lot of people love it which is great but not my favorite. Cajun Greek YES!!! 🥰
I'm going tomorrow (again lol) I'm totally going to the candy and taffy store. Have you been to Bennos? Its cajun on the seawall. It's not fancy but it so good. Thanks for the recommendations 😊
Yay! We are going this weekend. Again too lol. Yes we have been to bennos many times. My husband likes it but honestly I prefer other restaurants more. I do like the crab balls there. I hope this doesn’t offend you. I know many people love it. Haven’t been in a couple of years maybe it’s changed. Enjoy your time there. Hopefully it won’t rain every day. 🥰
@@HebaS Oh no I'm not offended. If you go back get the shrimp po boy. Its HUGE! And it's on like a grilled garlic bread. But I haven't been there in almost 2 years so I hope it hasn't changed. I'll find out tomorrow. 😁 Can't wait to try all those different taffy flavors 🍬
Thank you so much!! We prefer the east end. And depending on price you can check out the Galvestonian. I believe there is a 2-3 night minimum. Next to that is the Palisade Palms. That has a 6 night minimum. Both at condos. And are directly on the beach. There are nice hotels like the St Luis. I heard they have a nice pool. Hotel Galvez. Hilton. Holiday Inn. And those are in the Seawall. Have to walk across the street to the beach. We are not familiar with the west end of the island but it’s far from town. I hope this helps! If you have anymore questions please don’t hesitate to ask. Have fun!!
It's so strange, I've been on this Island for decades, and never bothered to eat at most of the restaurants here. For example, I want to explore Tokyo, and try ramen everyday there, but just now I've heard of this placed called Suki Poke by the sea in galveston, and they seem to serve Japanese ramen, and other Japanese foods, and now I'm thinking of not going to japan....but the food part was only 50% of the reason to go, the other 50% was to simple travel...move about in a world and culture different from what I'm used to, and see how k navigate through it. I'm too comfortable here in Galveston...in the U.S., and want a challenge if you will.
I need to try that ramen place. We just came back from Europe and it was wonderful. Travel is good for the soul. To see, smell and taste the different cultures. It really is fun and hope you can do. It’s like a whole other world out there and it’s wonderful. Thank you and have a wonderful week 🥰☺️
TOO MANY places that I've never been to (or even knew about) for a place that I go to at least once a year!!!! Can't wait till the next time I go now!!!!
Definitely Benno’s. Eat their every time we go. Always went to its predecessor, Captain Benny’s back in 50’s with my Dad. Changed to Benno’s in 70-80’s(?). Best Etouffe
Thank you so much!! Omg you will love it!! We were there Labor Day weekend and went there. And of course I had that. Yum! We hope you like it as much as I do. Try to get there early because there will be line. Especially cruise ship days. Enjoy! ☺️
You know, we haven’t been there but want to go next time. We went to the Gumbo Diner thinking it was the Bar lol. But hopefully when we go back next year we will definitely try that. Thank you again. 🥰. Happy thanksgiving
Is it the one I’m wearing on the beach? I got from dillards and the brand is Dotti. It’s on sale now. I went ahead and put a link to that shirt in the description box. No commission for me but to make it easier to get to. The one I have is older so it’s lighter. This one is darker but still nice. I hope this is what you were talking about. Let me know if it was something else. Thank you so much!
Oh yes ok. Sorry about that. Those are Ralph Lauren polo shirts but in men’s. I I’ve in those. I get them either also from dillards in a small or from the polo outlet stores. And it’s the soft cotton not the ribbed material. Can’t find these in women’s so I have them all in the men’s.
You describe the seafood so god it make me want eat it. But I do t eat seafood.😂 Matter of fact the hubby and I are do for a date. We’re from Houston and ALWAYS visit Galveston. Great video!!
OMG! lol I wish we were. lol. But thank you so much for saying this. He does exercise and I do yoga but do love to eat. lol. Thank you again Claire. Have a wonderful week!
That Buccees visit wasn't cheap in itself! Welcome from Houston Texas! ❤️✌️
Yes!!! We got a set of twins that have 7 more yrs to go and if they don’t leave then we are!! 😂

I also grew up going to Galveston. You are making me miss it! Thanks for the new restaurant suggestions.
Love Galveston. It may not have blue water but it’s a wonderful beach. And has great food. Hope you can go back. It has changed. Have a wonderful week! ❤️🥰
Thank you very much I own the Darlene shrimp shack.
Wow!! No thank you!! Love your food! We do hope you get more business. Hope to eat there again soon! Happy new year! 🎉❤️
Cajun Greek never disappoints! 🎸🎸 and Sunflower always rocks lol
Yes!! Great places to go and always come out happy. Thank you and happy Wednesday ☺️
Texas resident and I loved this video! Very informative. Thank you!!!
Thank you so much Jennifer! So glad you enjoyed it. Hope you have fun in Galveston. Miss that place. ☺️
My husband and I are taking my mom to Galveston next month. This video is awesome! Can't wait to try all these places out. 😍
Yay! What a wonderful time y’all will have. Thank you for watching and letting us know. Hope you like these places as much as we do. Darlene’s Shrimp Shack did upgrade their food truck so that’s great. Have fun and enjoy your time together 🥰
Thank you for this video, been looking forward to taking my wife to Maceo's for the Muffaletto. Looks really good.
Yay!! Y'all will love it. It's sad the Ronnie the owner passed away in an accident. But Maceo will live on. And their spaghetti on thurs is good too! Enjoy!

Thanks for the tip about darleens shrimp truck it was so good!
I'm a Brazilian and I'll go to Galveston in March... and your tips help me a lot, Thanks
Thank you!! So glad this helped. Have fun there. Wish we were back. 🥰
Here we are, sitting at the table you did at Cajun Greek. Waiting for our food. Excited to try. Thanks for the wonderful video.
Omg!!
@@HebaS yes please do 🥰
Thank you for sharing your favorite places in Galveston!
(I am getting carried away!)
I hope to see more of your trips, even the weekend getaways are wonderful! Thank you for sharing your experiences and thoughts. (Yep, Egypt is on the bucket list, too; but especially the Red Sea resorts like you shared!)
Heba, thank you for sharing your story about your family and how you became a TH-camr during you Q&A.
Thanks to you we tried Darlene's Shrimp Shack. It was delicious! A great find! Will definitely go back!
Have a wonderful trip! That sounds so fun!! Always wanted to try Maine lobster. Yum. Can’t wait to see your stories. Have fun!! 🥰❤️
Be sure and get the Maine Live Lobster. It's the best.
Most excellent review ‼️Great narrative. I’ve just retired in Houston so now I have time to enjoy my life. Success to you both 😃
Thank you so much Kirk! Galveston will be great for retirement life. We are counting the days or years I should say lol. Success to you as well. Enjoy!
Trying the Sunflower Bakery right now for breakfast👍🏾❤️
So jealous!! Hope you like this one too. How was Cajun Greek?
Awe you two are so cute! 💖 So much sea food!😋 I love sea food! I love the beach too. ⛱ My favorite way to vacation. 💖🌺
Thank you! Paige! Editing this made us so hungry again lol. Love sea food. And only eat it while near the water. At least I like to know it fresh lol. Hope you have a wonderful week! 🥰🥰
@@HebaS Omgosh! I'll bet it did. I know it would me, lol. Hope your week is amazing! 💖🌺🥰
We used to live in Galveston - my favorite place!!! Awesome video!!
It is a wonderful place! Love it there. Thank you so much Suzanne! Hope you had a wonderful weekend. 🥰

The food still makes me hungry. Thank you Mary! It was fun and so relaxing. Much needed. But still wish we can travel more like before. Oh well. So so glad you enjoyed this. Love you and hope you have a wonderful week. 😘😘😘😘
@@HebaS right back to you Heba!
Thank you guys for this video! It helped so much to make our stay here at Galveston extra special!!!
Thank you so much for watching. And so glad this helped. Wish we were there now. Glad you all had a wonderful special time. 🥰
Overall pretty solid suggestions. But to add to that, y'all have to try:
- Benno's
- Gypsy Joynt
- Penney's
- Mama Teresa's Flying Pizza
_ Mr. Taco
- Nollan's food truck park
(I'm sure there's a couple I'm forgetting)!
Thanks! 😊
Y’all are too cute! I can’t wait to check out your recommendations.
Thank you Jess! Hope you enjoy them as much as we do. Have fun!! Have a wonderful week! 🥰❤️
Hit Buc-ees in Texas City Definitely going 45S. It is beach themed. Best breakfast in Galveston is Millers Cafe or Sunflower Bakery and Cafe.
We have been there several times. Just waiting for the construction to finish there. Haven’t tried Millers for breakfast. Dinner yes. Pretty good. Thank you!
Headed to Galveston for the first time this winter for a month, love your video!!
Thank you Doug!! Enjoy! And what a month to be there with all the Christmas decorations. Have fun!
Great VLOG! We are headed to Galveston for a cruise in May. This was very helpful!
So glad this was helpful. Have fun on your cruise. So jealous. Thank you so much! 🥰
Just came across your video! Thank you! I loved it! New subscriber. I live in Houston, but learned new things on your video! Thanks again!
Thank you so much for being here! Love Galveston! And these are really good restaurants. Always nice to see new things. Glad you enjoyed it and thank you again. Enjoy your weekend ☺️
Damn, the Food Truck alone makes me wanna visit Galveston! 😂
It sure does lol. We were just there and they upgraded to a bigger truck! 🎉
I am hungry 😂😂 seafood is my favorite Glad you & Shawket had fun God bless you honey great vlog my husband & I enjoyed it very much ❤️❤️❤️
Oh it was so fun to do this. I think we are a lot. But so good. Love seafood as you can tell. And enjoy doing travel vlogs. Miss traveling. Love you habibti and sending hugs and blessings to you all. 🥰🥰
Heba
Okay not only you are pro in makeup videos but doing food review are just awesome. Makes me wanna come visit TX. Another great video. Just wow
Enjoy!
you're making me hungry!! i need to make a trip out there again one of these days!!
I need to make a trip to see your new baby! 🥰
Your are getting so good at filming them. xo
Headed that way Xmas time. Awesome content. Thank you for the video. Saved us a lot of research
Oh that will be a wonderful time to go. I hope it will be during Dickens on the Strand. And lights at Moody Gardens. Thank you so much and hope y’all have a wonderful time!
That's was a good tour, but you missed going to Star Drugs. They have an excellent breakfast and lunch.
Oh thanks for the recommendation. Haven’t heard of that but will definitely try that soon. Thank you!
Great video on Galveston! I really enjoyed it.
Thank you Marie!! So glad you enjoyed it! It’s so fun to do. ❤️🥰
try Happy Buddha, next time y’all come down to visit!! 😊
Ooo thank you for your recommendation. Looked it up and will definitely try next time we go down. Hopefully next month. Thank you! ❤️. Stay warm
That is my favorite place to eat! They only place I can get Chicken Kew. And the owner is very nice. Ask for Frank when you go. Just a suggestion.
Now I wish we had made it to Galveston when we lived in Texas. We went to South Padre Island and Dallas. 😊🍕🥞🍤👏👏👏
Love Galveston. The beach there isn’t as ‘blue’ or ‘green’ as Padre. But Galveston has a following. Lol. Maybe one day you will make it back.
@@Grynslvr2 I know. We were so saddened
I have gone to the sunflower cafe for breakfast and this place is awesome
I have to try the Cajun Greek. Also, you should try the grilled redfish tacos at the Shark Shack on the strand.
Thank you! We will definitely try them the next time we go. Especially for those pancakes. Thank you! Enjoy your weekend ☺️
Thanks for sharing! This is very helpful 💕 -Kelsey
Thank you Kelsey!! Hope you try some of those places and like it as well. Have a wonderful week! 🥰🥰
Looks like some good spots, thanks for sharing 👍🏻❤️✌🏻
Just the tip of the iceberg of choices there. But very good! 🥰
I live here and never never tried those good places to eat at always go to same places enjoy your video very much
Thank you so much!! I know what you mean. We would eat at the same places. Even there lol. But we are trying new places. Hope you do try them and enjoy! Glad you are safe as well after Beryl 🥰
Great video! Can't wait to try some of these places!
Thank you so much! Have fun there.
Trying out the Cajan Greek right now👍🏾. Ty!
Yum!! Hope you like it as much as we do! Please let us know if like or not. No worries if it’s not for you but do hope you like. Enjoy! 🥰
We love Galveston and go most years! Thanks for telling us about some new places to try!
Hopefully next year
@@HebaS The Original Mexican Cafe is really good too. It’s near The Strand. I forgot to mention it above.
Hi Heba, you guys sure made my mouth water with all that food. Lol Its great to see so many great recommendations to eat, you never know a future trip there could be in my plans. Thanks for sharing love
It was fun doing this video. Lol. Research lol. So glad you enjoyed it. It’s making me hungry again lol. Thanks Maribel. ❤️🥰
Yaga’s cafe in downtown-best pizza and food in general-love this place -family tradition
We keep seeing that place and one day we will try it. Thank you for your suggestion for us!
Love the video.. thanks for shouting us out🙏🏾🏝
No problem. Love Galveston! Enjoy!
We go to Galveston almost every summer, live in louisiana. Really enjoyed your video! Yall are such a nice couple 😊 God bless you
Thank you so much Scotty!! We love going to Galveston and hope to go back next month. You are so kind to say. Happy Easter to you and yours. ☺️
Have fun!! XOXO
Love your video. Did you bring the chairs and umbrella?
Thank you!! Yes we did bring our own. But I do believe you can rent some now especially during the weekend
You both looked like you had so much fun, and you showed my favourite thing, food! Haha ❤️
We did that last year and it was so fun. We miss traveling internationally but staying close to home isn’t bad. There is good food here. 🥰
Thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching Terez! XOXO
Great video, it makes me want to go there and eat all that lovely food!
Even while editing we wanted to go back and eat. So yummy. So glad you enjoyed it. Have a wonderful weekend Ana!! ❤️🥰
Doesn’t know what étouffée is where are they from?
Great memories. I don’t remember the strand back then. I do remember the best poi boys in Pier 19. At least when I was a kid. Miss those types of restaurants
no gaidos?? Cajun Greek is one of my favorites though!
I know. gaidos is an icon there. But to be honest not my favorite. I know a lot of people love it which is great but not my favorite. Cajun Greek YES!!! 🥰
Buc ees in Alabama on I-10 is huge. Prices too!
Nice!! Yea everything is priced too high.
Exallant video that food looked soo good
Thank you Preston! It was so delicious and hope if you go you can try them. Have a nice evening!
Ok good! Hope the taffy pull is working when you go. Enjoy!
We are coming to Galveston in March fir a cruise. What restaurants do you recommend.
Yay! Wonderful. Y’all will have so much fun. Pretty much the ones mentioned here plus Gypsy Joint is yummy. Enjoy!
Hello love your video, hey we are heading to Galveston this summer but don’t know where to stay or what area , where do you recommend?
Have fun!!
Great video, well done.
Thank you so much!
Liked and subscribed love your videos I was looking for best places to eat in Galveston
Good morning Tony! Thank you! And these are just a few. I’m sure we will try new places and like those too. Enjoy!
Sunflower Eggs Benedict a must! Shrimp and Stuff, Guidos or Nick's for lunch.
Love sunflower. Haven’t heard of Nicks. We may need to check that out. Thank you!
TOO MANY places that I've never been to (or even knew about) for a place that I go to at least once a year!!!! Can't wait till the next time I go now!!!!
And there are many more. Too bad Shawkat didn’t have the same face like he did in the other vlog lol.
Definitely Benno’s. Eat their every time we go. Always went to its predecessor, Captain Benny’s back in 50’s with my Dad. Changed to Benno’s in 70-80’s(?). Best Etouffe
Such a great memory. My family loves Benno’s. Great fried catfish. Thank you and enjoy
Bennos is the old Burger chef on the beach. Used to buy 100 100lb sacks of potatoes every other day in the summer.
No was burger chef in the sixties must’ve changed in the late seventies when I moved up north.
@@HebaScatfish? You eat fresh water catfish on the Gulf of Mexico? 😅
You're a very cute couple, and I cannot WAIT to try that crab benedict on our first trip to Galveston this Fall.
Thank you so much!! Omg you will love it!! We were there Labor Day weekend and went there. And of course I had that. Yum! We hope you like it as much as I do. Try to get there early because there will be line. Especially cruise ship days. Enjoy! ☺️
You forgot The Gumbo Bar. Awesome food and service.
You know, we haven’t been there but want to go next time. We went to the Gumbo Diner thinking it was the Bar lol. But hopefully when we go back next year we will definitely try that. Thank you again. 🥰. Happy thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving to you too. And thank you!.
Thanks, this is awesome!
Thank you! 🥰
YOU GUYS NEED TO TRY THE GUMBO BAR ON POST OFFICE STREET.
I’ve heard that’s is good. Ok. Hopefully when we go back in a couple of months. Thank you!
I’m born on island and really enjoyed your video
Thank you so much!! Love Galveston. Been going for decades. Since we were little kids. Do you have any other suggestions of places to eat?
I live 30mins from Galveston and best Mexican Food is “The Original Mexican Cafe” on Market St.
It’s really good too. Wish we could have mentioned it. Love their chimichanga. Thank you! 🥰
Thanks for pronouncing buck...eeees correctly! LOL. Good gasoline prices too.
Lol. I know right? Lol. Thank you for watching! 🥰
I love the longer sleeved short sleeve polo you are wearing. Do you mind telling me where you got it?
Is it the one I’m wearing on the beach? I got from dillards and the brand is Dotti. It’s on sale now. I went ahead and put a link to that shirt in the description box. No commission for me but to make it easier to get to. The one I have is older so it’s lighter. This one is darker but still nice. I hope this is what you were talking about. Let me know if it was something else. Thank you so much!
@@HebaS that one is really pretty too,but I was admiring the one you are wearing at Cajun Greek. So many womens polo shirts have very short sleeves.
Oh yes ok. Sorry about that. Those are Ralph Lauren polo shirts but in men’s. I I’ve in those. I get them either also from dillards in a small or from the polo outlet stores. And it’s the soft cotton not the ribbed material. Can’t find these in women’s so I have them all in the men’s.
I loved this video so much I subscribed
Welcome! Thank you! XOXO
