I actually watched some races on Peacock last year and enjoyed it. I like Peacock better than many of the pay channels. I say put them on both networks and Peacock could be commercial free. I’d rather pay $5 for Peacock any day than for Netflix or even Prime. That’s me though.
If it was ad free I would be for it. I have a feeling though that the next deal would include USA and Peacock exclusive races. So people would have to pay for two separate things. That’s the main issue I have with it
peacock isnt even available in most non-American countries (unless you go thru a local cable provider in the UK or Germany). So to get peacock, i would have to purchase a german cable plan (which I don’t want), and then get peacock
I hope they include Canada into the loop because I want a streaming service for Nascar because I can't afford to buy the TV channels. I also don't have access to Peacock without a VPN.
I already gotta pay to get television. I'm not about to pay additional money to watch a race or two on Peacock and still be paying for television for no reason half the time. If Peacock gets a straight month of races, then we're talking.
$4.99 a month for Peacock. That’s cheaper than a meal at a fast food restaurant, but you pay $100+ a month to get FS1 and USA from cable or satellite? Except for nascar you can stream everything cable and satellite has cheaper or even free ad supported..
I'm OK with putting practice and qualifying on Peacock but NOT the races. NASCAR needs to negotiate with FOX/NBC to put more races on broadcast TV, none behind a paywall, and for FOX to take the sport more seriously. Hopefully the teams will get more money in this TV deal. I'm totally against ESPN but agree with your point on Peacock. ESPN would be the type of network to put College Basketball on ABC and all ESPN networks and push NASCAR on to ESPN+. They've already had discussions on putting F1 races exclusively on ESPN+. ESPN doesn't care about racing or NASCAR. To them it would be just another property they own.
I would take it a step farther; If it hasn't worked out well for the NFL & Amazon, this season, why in the world would Nascar want to try it. As for changing networks what about CBS??? Besides being a former TV partner of Nascar from the 80s-2000, they also shown over the past two years they still got it with the SRX series.

I'm a cord cutter, I'm not going to pay for unwanted content just to watch NASCAR. I feel the teams need more $$$. He'll look at all the cars that get destroyed especially at Daytona and Talladega!

I currently subscribe to Flo and Dirtvision so I am willing to pay to watch racing but I will not pay to watch something that is broadcast on the radio with more professional commentators.
NASCAR is already a pay wall. Satellite and cable $100+ to get FSN and USA.. Peacock at $4.99 is a heck of a lot cheaper. I cut the cord 19 months ago. The only thing I need satellite or cable for is NASCAR. I would rather pay 4.99 a month than $100. NASCAR needs a streaming channel , have your traditional broadcast and offer a streaming service too. I’m not going to lie I use a family members login information from satellite to watch NASCAR on the Fox Sports and NBC Sports App. I would pay for a nascar streaming service if they had the 3 major series on live. Peacock needs to broadcast NBC/USA portion of the schedule. I’m not going back to satellite, the only thing I can’t get I watched with satellite is nascar. NASCAR needs to step up to the streaming plate or watch current fans disappear as they cut the cord. Every other major sport has streaming services.

NBC needs to broadcast on TV and Peacock simultaneously.. They do it for Sunday Night Football and it works... That way you don't HAVE to pay for races, it'll just be available if you have the service.
Well that was just a prediction by the Sports Business Journal's John Ourand, so it's not set in stone that this'll actually happen. I just want to make that clear. But it's in the realm of possibilities, no doubt. And I should also note that if NBC does keep the rights, races like Daytona, Talladega or Bristol won't be put behind a paywall on Peacock. It'll most likely be races such as Pocono, Texas and New Hampshire. They won't put any of the important races exclusively on Peacock.
Amazon prime and Apple TV would be good if it was ad free and a separate broadcast for the main channels and the numbers are good there and not just for viewing in the U.S., it be an international deal around the world to get more eyes on the sport commercial free. Nascar needs to create their own streaming service as well and the new deal needs to allow it, every major sports have one. Nbc should just do all races on nbc/USA and simulcast all the races on peacock. F1 has ESPN/ABC/F1TV and next season ESPN+ Nascar only has FOX/NBC and Peacock
I am a streamer, no cable or satellite. We do pay for streaming services but it just seems like I have to have one for qualifying, one for Trucks, one for Xfinity, a different one for the All star race and on and on... It is stupid expensive and exhausting to keep up with. Just pick one. I am a fan and I will pay for it but I am about done chasing them around. Please
ESPN was bitter towards NASCAR the last 20 years WAS the TV deal. Before the tracks worked the deals with the networks. ESPN was the reason NASCAR grew the way it did in the 90's. WIth the "TV deal" era ESPN was overlooked, outbid and was restricted to what they could report. It got to the point ESPN would not even mention the word NASCAR, teams or drivers. Seeing them mentioned in the TV deal is hope for coverage. I really look forward to seeing what ESPN does with the SRX. But I agree, NASCAR and a paywall is a bad move. The teams now are complaining about how they are how they are screwed by the TV deal. That would be the death nail for them.
Didn’t realize Amazon prime was so big. Never hear anyone talk about it and those that do only have it for cheaper shipping and discounts.. not watching movies. Then again I’m not in the US and maybe the scene is totally different there
No way I'm paying into anything else. I understand FOX staying on as all they've got in the spring past college basketball is baseball and the occasional golf tournament. The second half of the season, it should be ESPN and ABC. Going to Peacock sounds like a bad idea and economically unreasonable. Based on how it worked out with IndyCar, not worth it. This sport is not at a place where streaming live races is feasible - yet. I had heard a while back that NBC was bowing out after the current deal ends but I've heard little else since. With ESPN getting the SRX, that might serve as a bridge to them getting NASCAR races in the next deal and they should.
I wish all races/practices and Nascar events/trucks/Xfinity would show on FOX/FS1/FS2 because I like Bowyer in the booth. Maybe Nascar needs their own streaming channel. I would pay for that.
I’d be all for nascar going to peacock. I have peacock, I don’t have Netflix or prime. You have to pay to watch nascar on tv already if you have cable and many have to pay more for packages that include USA. The tv package I have don’t include USA and I don’t want to pay more for a package that has it because I rarely watch tv.
Like I said my 2 issues with it moving multiple races exclusively to Peacock is still how small it is. Teams are already struggling having to make ends meet and going to a pretty small platform like Peacock would just restrict that even more compared to Netflix or Prime. Also depending on the deal you may have Peacock exclusive and USA Network exclusive races. So people would now have to pay for 2 separate services
@@JettMDK most people today are already paying for multiple packages or multiple streaming services anyway. Peacock has more subscribers then nascar averages in viewers already. I don’t see them moving to a streaming service as any different then being on USA or fs1 since they’re not included in basics packages and people have to pay extra to get the if they want to watch already. As far as which streaming service they go to peacock is the cheapest one out there I believe and for any die hard fan it has plenty of other nascar related coverage. Personally I think if nascar and the networks want to increase viewership then all races should be on the main network only and/or offer the races not on the main network on both the small one and a streaming service both.
Honestly I think Nascar Will continue their Contract with FOX in 2025 cause the coverage is so good there is without a doubt that fox in years to comes and think Abc and ESPN will Take over the second of the season in 2025
If this Happens, NASCAR, (more like LASCAR at this point) will lose a long time Fan. No one should have to pay for races unless they don’t want those useless commercials. I though, have the Perfect Solution for SOD and Steve Phelps. SELL THE SPORT! My solution for the commercials? Side-by-side coverage. Only full screen for cautions. #makenascargreatagain
About all the TV I watch is NASCAR. If NBC (NOTHING BUT COMMERCIALS) goes to Peacock, I'll not waste any more of my inflation hurt dollars and 50 years of NASCAR track attendance and TV viewership. It will end when FOX (or ?) turns their part over at mid year.
If you came from a different era where the graphics sucked generally the super hero graphics aren’t stupid imo . You like the word stupid very much genius🤘🏼🏁
What I don't understand, is Fox Sports broadcasts races on TV and simulcasts races on Fox Sports Go live. Why cannot Nascar sell both TV and internet packages? All sports leagues worry me that they are caving to this either/or model, instead of selling both where races/games are on both TV and internet for whoever wants to watch, however they want to watch. I get that streaming services want exclusive rights, but how many of these will survive? I know this is different, but look at Comcast/NBC axing NBCSN last year? Will Peacock exist by the time the next deal is over? One last note about ESPN, they just got NHL coverage, and have shifted some games exclusively to ESPN+, so I wouldn't say we are safe from streaming no matter who wins the "TV deal."
Good point. At the beginning of the current deal cable sports channels were the big thing happening and NBCSN is gone before this deal is over. I would argue that the NHL’s revenue model is very different from NASCAR. NASCAR is very sponsorship driven, so it’s important to the organization and the sponsor that their logos is shown to as many eyes as possible. NHL is more about the money simply

@@JettMDK I agree with your point on the differences between sports leagues. I'm just a little worried that Nascar leadership might place a short term victory of a slightly higher media rights deal over long term goals of re-growing the sport. Good video. I like the points you bring up.
Yes and no. On one hand, NASCAR should consider using streaming services, as that is the way of the future. But you're going to lose most of the older audience in the process.
NASCAR brings in more revenue with peacock than it does NBC. NASCAR on NBC will grow their audience but the ad revenue is just not enough. Unlike in years past Nascar has more decision making in this than TV networks do. If NASCAR decides to put a race on NBC over peacock it is because they are seeing it as a potential way of picking up new casual fans. Peacock is really where the money is for NASCAR. Granted they are not expanding their brand with peacock but they are bringing more much needed money into the sport. They are following what they see with dirt racing right now. Dirt racing is arguably doing better financially than it has in 25 years thanks to pay-per-view streaming. Flo racing (streaming service) is putting a Million dollar sprint car race. Kyle Larson's high limit series which is presented by flow racing puts out more per race than any other Sprint car series. It's dollars and cents. If it doesn't make any dollars it doesn't make any sense.
I say just stream the races here on TH-cam with the commercials the SRO and 24hour series and a few other stream on here TH-cam is huge especially with younger audiences that would get more fans and viewers hey even the MLB has some baseball games here on TH-cam
I won’t pay a nickel extra to watch NASCAR on tv. The France family and good old boy consortium continue to find new ways to fatten their bank accounts. God luck with that.
This is not going to popular, but NBC needs to replace two announcers, Steve and Dale Jr. Love Dale, but his high pitched voice drives me crazy!! I'm sorry Dale, I love you and I want you for color commentary! Steve is just boring!!

*Me to Nascar: "I'd do anything for you.... but I won't do that." (Won't support pay wall races)
NASCAR is most likely not gonna be with nbc after 2025 imo if nbc is gonna do this
Just leave it on Fodx!
Yes and no. On one hand, NASCAR should consider using streaming services, as that is the way of the future. But you're going to lose most of the older audience in the process.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
NBC coverage is horrible in my opinion. Who wants to listen to Jeff Burton yell at us for 3 hours every weekend!
Cough up the money and bring NASCAR to your channel😂🎉🎉
NASCAR on any other streaming platform other the their own is DOA.
I say just stream the races here on TH-cam with the commercials the SRO and 24hour series and a few other stream on here TH-cam is huge especially with younger audiences that would get more fans and viewers hey even the MLB has some baseball games here on TH-cam
It personally doesn’t affect me because I have peacock
I think nascar should give prime a chance
I live in Norway, i pay 300$ a year to get nascar on my cable tv which also stream truck and xfinity. But we run races ad free. Totally Worth it.
Yes it is they aren’t going to do this right
Lmao. Good luck with that..... nascar you have already screwed up so bad i dont watch anymore...so you accaully think id pay?
Your in your parents house huh ? Well so am I am I’m way older than you. Too scary out there
Interesting
I won’t pay a nickel extra to watch NASCAR on tv. The France family and good old boy consortium continue to find new ways to fatten their bank accounts. God luck with that.
Just another money grab. Seeya Nascar
This is not going to popular, but NBC needs to replace two announcers, Steve and Dale Jr. Love Dale, but his high pitched voice drives me crazy!! I'm sorry Dale, I love you and I want you for color commentary! Steve is just boring!!
They need to replace the whole bunch at Nascar.
Not watching and sure not paying to watch period.
Dumb decision that nascar is going to make to be honest
Its bad when a regular non cable channel wont carry racing. I dont have cable. I wont watch
no thanks nascar
