Pin is more verstile than people think. I use my pin for fly fishing, pitching smalll spinners and spoons, and of course float fishing everything under the sun. PIN FOR THE WIN!!!!

That CPR pin reel is the Bomb, I own 2 3.95" mini pin reels absalutely love them on 10' ultra lite trout rods.

Pinning is definitely Winning, especially for salmon and steelhead. I like my 4wt fly rod for summer trout fishing on small streams. And a spinning rod for spoon and spinner action. All depends on the conditions and time of year! I liked this episode 🤘

Dude I absolutely love seeing northwest pin fishing. I know I am a Midwest fisherman and it is a very Midwest method but I just love to see it on rivers so far from home.
I can definitely say that I am not a center pin guy at all, or even a fly guy really, but it looked like y'all had a good time. And that's what matters most.
That sucks Washington has a deadline for steelhead! I got two last weekend and going back for more!

Jordan…I’m an old school, 55 years fishing for ‘em, steelhead guy from NorCal..that rising, muddy water was just begging for a #6 flame-chartreuse or clown spin n glo to be tossed in a drifted thru the current seam…but, like most guys, I’ll use whatever water conditions dictate…

What's the name of that rod box at 31 seconds?
Love seeing jordan bust out the spey rod. Quit trying to "trout set" when a steelhead grabs it on the swing! Instead, hold a loop of line pinched on the cork and let that go out when a fish hits. It allows the fish to turn and pull the hook into the corner. 90% of the time if you try and set right away you won't hook up

it really depends on the fish. if you were fishing for rainbow trout the fly rod would have won.

Float fishing with a spinning rod is just goofy. Look how many hits you miss every episode with all that slack. A good pin fisherman or even a bait caster would work you guys. Fly is an intentional disadvantage for challenge but if your really good you can hold your own.

I will never understand the center pin..... I can do everything that a center pin can do, with way more control, and with ease, and simplicity... I think the centerpin guy is the guy that just can't let go of the fly rod,for any reason😊
Pin is extremely nice for below freezing weather and runs that require less than 8 gram floats. Baitcasters struggle in below freezing conditions and 8 grams seems like the least I can go before this spool starts dragging my float slightly out of the runs. They are extremely popular in the great lakes area because of this. Small tribes and we’re stuck fishing sub freezing temps for half our season. This scenario I’m running a bait caster.
