Iam so happy! i finally joined up for your lessons. they are wonderful...fyi I watch your right hand also. Love your rounded tone and your thoughtful dynamic. And of course your Austrian accent..LOL
I have been playing this song chord melody style for years in Eb, so it is very nice to have a professional arrangement of this great tune...thanks for all of your work . I love your approach to tunes !
Beautifully done, Sandra👏👏! You’re so good at this😎… 7b5, 9b5… dim as b9 … I hope your followers realize just how much you pack into these lessons! I wish I would have had these available 40 yrs ago when there was no YTube, or internet, and just records and my ear - and fumbling around on my own! Thanks for being YOU🙏😁
"Fumbling around on your own" is a great way to find out things and usually wrememver them better, as opposed to somebody telling us. So, happy fumbling 😁
❤️❤️❤️. OMG. I was just listening to Stacey Kent singing this song. It crossed my mind to see if you had done a lesson on it. Love this. ❤️❤️❤️ There's a bit of the progression that reminds me of Autumn Leaves. 🤔🤔
I love all your tutorials, Sandra. You are definitely the best chord melody teacher in the world; your personality and smile are lovely. Your explanations are always clear and helpful. Best of blessings to you and your loved ones. Thank you so much!
thank you Sandra for this lesson. i have mastered it and committed it to memory after plenty of practice and it is my favourite tune to date. i am a beginner/intermediate and you are very good teacher and im really glad to have found you online. i have yet to progress to using backing tracks as part of practice. would you recommend this? Thx
I loved the arrangement! But sometimes its so hard to follow it while keeping an eye on the chords in the realbook (i.e iRealPro). Too dumb to pick up on those substitutions😂
Be you seen my intzy weeny thing of a thumb? 😁. You don't need to completely get around the neck. A little pressure with an almost straight thumb is enough.
Just be careful anytime you’re sliding a pinky in a chord/melody. It’s easy to drop notes and accuracy being a weaker finger. Sandra’s great but you’ll see she’ll choke a note sometimes in a pinky slide. Better to find a voicing that leaves your pinky free. Even cross-barred chords can be quite strong using the index leaving the pinky open. No one covers cross-barring though. It’s unorthodox. But I know pro players who do it all the time.
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman native ? Anyway , also called cross-fret , cross barring is a alternate barring technique used by some classical players .. and a few jazzers I know .. to cross the fret using one finger .. for instance instead of barring from A to A at the 5th you can bar A to G# to help complete a major 7th without having to stretch waayy up on the 2nd string with your pinky. Then .. you can add the 3rd and 7th played with the ring finger on both notes .. getting 5 notes with 3 fingers and have pinky to spare ! It’s unorthodox and takes practice but I play this way and know others who do also because you’re executing these notes with your strongest fingers.

You don't have to use Backing Tracks for chords melody tunes, but it helps with the general timing.

Hi again. Tried purchase but your system stopped accepting our car which is the same. ?????FRAN

Get the PDF Tab from my store and write the original chords on top of each bar! That way you'll have the perfect overview.
Having no problems playing bass on E string with thumb ? ... I do, unfortunately... you´re lucky 😋 I´d need a bit longer one.. (thumb) 😂😂

@@GuitarversumSandraSherman With narrow neck and rounded edges of fretboard - I´m fine 😅

What you mean by"cross-barring"? I've never heard that term (but I'm not a native speaker)
