Beauty mate. Great sounds from a largely overlooked instrument.
Terrific demo and an introduction to tunings, all in 5 minutes!
Great demo Chris, thanks very much.
I'm really interested in the Lindisfarne or the all solid Blue Ridge.
Great demo, thanks! Next time I come to Bristol I’ll visit hobgoblin music…
Hobgoblin Bristol The Tenor Guitar is actually a hybrid instrument, basically a Tenor Banjo neck on a Guitar body. These were developed around the 1920s during the "Transition Period from Banjo to Guitar".
Yes. We know!
Excellent tenor guitar review. I love tenor guitars and I'm waiting for my Ashbury AT-24 on back order from Hoblegoblin in USA. I can't wait.
Very good.
I have built a few of these. I prefer Chicago tuning. I made a baritone tenor tuned lower (A, D, G, B).
I really like the Ashbury model
Which model is the first tenor you played? The body seemed larger than a lot of tenors offered, with exception of goldtone and blueridge. Big sound!
Is there much of a size difference in the body compared to a conventional acoustic?
Do you sell left handed ones as I can't find anything on your website? But it says in the video that the Lindisfarne one comes in left handed too.
Hi there, as of 26/9/22 there are 3 L/H Lindisfarnes in the company. We have one here in Bristol.
@@HobgoblinBristol where are the other two located as I'm in Scotland?
Was that last tune a Richard Thompson lick or did it just sound like that coz DADGAD?
No, it's Chris' arrangement of Cropper Lads.
Lovely instruments! Have you ever tuned them to DGBE, as on a baritone uke?
It works ! See Vox Quod above...
