All my 3 girls loved pillion. My wife refused to ever pillion which was a shame because of the trips abroad. One of them now has her full licence and an sv650. She’s a petrol head and a very good rider/driver.
Great to see you both I’ve met the ol man and his wife last Christmas at the farm and although it was Freezing cold it was great, and great guy 👏👏😊😊😎 All the very best to him Regards Phil
Apart from Michael Neeves, I’d say all info and advice I care of about motorcycles come from TH-cam creators such as yourself and a few others. I’m not aware of big data but I’d guess mine is not an isolated behaviour. If that’s the case, manufacturers should definitely acknowledge that and care for you guys having machines available to present. Thanks again for this crossover, most appreciated ✌️
@@MOTOUK1 What about Moto Guzzi? A marque I have a big affection for. If you're a Triumph fan/owner (as I am) a Guzzi might float your boat...subscription added 👍
Talking about safety gear at the end. I went down 6 years ago between 40-50 mph. It was one of three times I didn't have a jacket on. I got lucky and walked with some pretty good road rash. Nothing was broken, but I was sore for quite a while. The bike was totaled.
both great channels yeah I can remember taking my motorcycle test 1974 was so easy had to do hand signals A motorcycle was cheaper to get to and from work. Same guy took me for my car test. Now my children are adults and I now have car but use a motorcycle as fuel prices are out of control. Didn’t want my children to have motorcycles.
I like your philosophy on motorcycles, especially when it comes to therapy. Riding back roads and countrysides at a reasonable pace has such and overwhelming effect on your mind and body. Thoroughly enjoyed your conversation with 'the ol' man' and your comparisons with bikes and equipment, and riding styles. I also laughed at "the gray hair" comment as I can relate to that. Liked and subbed. Cheers from Texas, USA!
Great Q&A , I'm a Mr Darcy & The Ol Man subscriber (Watch all their vids) now subscribing to your channel. Listening to two "old" bikers shooting the breeze was a breath of fresh air, many of your views mirrored my own including your views on electric motorcycles, like the Ol Man I tried a H-D Livewire , got off it after the ride and decided if that's the future of motorcycling then its time to call it a day.
Enjoyed the meet up and chat vid with Ol Man. I've probably passed their channel by up to now but given them a sub as it sounds an interesting set up. They've got a slightly different father & son perspective which helps them stand out in a sea of content. Think the biggest problem at the moment is the volume of motorcycle content uploaded daily to TH-cam, mainly by greying middle-aged men. We've decided not to get on the bike test merry go round. If you examine the time and effort required to collect a bike, film edit and publish. It just doesn't pay unless you get big views with TH-cam ad sence. We film what we enjoy doing (mainly tours, rideouts and events) Good luck to the Ol man with his move. Quality audio and visuals on this. 👍👍
Thanks Richard 🙏 yes the tube is in my opinion saturated with reviews atm. I like you love more ride outs and seeing views actually better on those these days and I have stopped chasing the loan bikes currently. I’m very happy to do content on my own bikes. Just waiting for the rain ☔️ to go today before rolling a wheel 🤣👍
@@MOTOUK1 Know what you mean, I've cleaned all the bikes and just cannot face getting them filthy again on the current damp filthy roads. We've just chatted about calling by the Triumph cafe in the CAR 😭 today!
Thanks mate, I enjoyed that, you’ve just got a new subscriber! I was already into Mr.D.&OM channel and he sent me here. Incidentally, you gave away his name there, which I don’t think he has ever revealed previously, so I shall make a point of addressing him as James if I comment on his channel in future! PS I live in London and I’m an older man than either of you, 72 (how the bloody hell did that happen?!!? ) and still enjoy (fair weather) biking.
What lovely video 👍 less young people ride bikes because of cost and they are the most impractical modes of transport 😂 they are just toys for us old buggers 😂
I really enjoyed that, both decent channels and people. Darcey and the ole man have done really well. So much I would have liked to have some input there and your right about the press bikes, some company's are stuck in the dark about the benefits of what we do. My trip vids also seem to do better than they used to Nick, and I quite like making them. Chinese bikes have something to offer in a world where motorcycling is increasingly becoming inaccessible not only to younger people but people later in life as well so they have there place and I think the quality is in many cases almost as good as the bigger brands such as moto morinei are lovely bikes, not perfect in places but when you can pay 4k less for what is basically a kawasaki versus with the same finish it's a good propersition. The issue is, often the implementation is abismal. Royal Enfields are my favourite brand along with Honda, and your right the finish is really good but it's still basic metals underneath. Bullet 500 is in the process but it's all hear say at the moment. Good video, good people📹👍
I agree I think the Chinese are really moving fwd. wouldnt have touched one 10yrs ago. But now their business model is first as their products and at the right price.
Every single bike is beautiful to the eyes of the beholder… You may own a GSA and feel like you’re riding a scooter for others it’s the opposite. And again great video gentlemen!
Congratulation's guy's, you managed to find one of the very few day's here in Wales when it didn't rain this summer! Did you get the Ol Man to take you to the Rhug Estate for a breakfast?? I'm on the same page as you with reference to modern classic bike's and really enjoyed your Vlog. Thank you both. 👍👍👍
A US radio show decades ago asked which you'd drive more safely, 1 you couldn't be hurt in or 1 full of instantly explosive nitro? It's a hard answer....
Just to say Love your T120 watched your initial purchase and the extras… real beauty I have the T100 865 still a great bike and New Gold Star etc yes the Merlin jacket … I have one they’re excellent Al the Merlin range are well worth it 😊😊 Great channel
I will never have an electric motorbike I will give up riding...which is what they want. Only MAG seem to be fighting this yet they only have 8000 members approx. from all the motorcyclist in the UK. Are we too complacent?
Think the secret is we have to like the presenter, especially if you want us to subscribe because let’s be honest, we are only concerned with the bike we either have now or the one we are about to get. Anything more relies on us being interested in you.
Had to smile at your comment on EV's catching fire. Just been watching the Fully Charged seminar video before yours. I say watch, lost interest after about 5 minutes. Thought i was watching one of those western type preachers, you'll be dammed to hell if you dont agree eith me. 😂 Thought theyd have walked on water to make it more enjoyable . Enjoyed listening to your chat with the Ol'man.

Your welcome Freddie, the three of us next then. 👍😁

Electric bikes 👎ICE bikes 👍 lets hope they can get bio fuels to work 🤔
At 27:00 praising bio fuels I lost interest. It is unethical to burn food.
Wasn’t praising just prefer over electric. At least if it does go bio fuel then we get the same bikes with engines.
