Exocaged RC I’m using the stock spur and the included 12t pinion. In low gear it has tons of power. In high gear it will ride wheelies for about 20 foot on 2s. Haven’t plugged a 3s into it yet.
Exactly what I have been waiting for.. well originally I wanted the 3300kv for my Gen8, but that may be more wheel speed than I was wanting. 2700kv on 3s with a 13t pinion and may fall in love all over again with my Gen8. May be a good match up for my TRX-4's too.
Yeah I’ve got in the trx4 for video today and it’s a long can 550. It barely fits in the truck. No room to spare between the back of the motor and cross brace.
If I didn't like my Mamba X so much, I would give this setup a try in my TRX4. I'm still using the stock 21T and my truck is over a year old. I run it on 4S as well which in truth, doesn't offer me any advangtes over 3s other than making the slipper slip on hard throttle. I only use 4S since I have a bunch of small 4S batteries from my drone. My biggest gripe with the Mamba X is that my TRX4 still rolls, either forward or backwards, on slopes. Castle needs to fix that with some sort of "Hill hold feature" or something. I shouldn't have to upgrade motors to make that problem go away.
@@bluemotion71 I use the Castle Mamba X which is good for upto 6S. The stock 21T Traxxas motor can handle 4s. Don't expect anything crazy while on 4S, I just get more speed but that's not my goal, my goal is to use the small packs I have laying around.
Oh wow it looks to be a very powerful motor. Could you also please put it in a 1:10 basher like a rustler 4×4 or something like that, it would be interesting to see how the crawler system performs in these conditions.

Does anyone know what channel the fan needs to be hooked up to? I've tried all of them and the fan doesn't come on! Does the ESC have to heat up before the fan comes on?
Kevin Gibbs so far I’ve driven it in the trx sport and the Redcat gen8. The stock trx radio is a bit touchy as it has no expo or anything. The Gen8 has a GT5 radio and it’s smoothed our and seriously impressive!
I got the 2200 kv h.w. super strong. Smooth . Quiet. Super slow super fast . The best brushless i have ever had even better than mamba thinking about getting another one
Hi, I have a question: is it OK to use a 3,500 mAh 11.1 V Battery?, is the receiver and the AXE 550 ESC/motor capable to support that Voltage? what is the max V for them?
I love hobbywing products the last few years . Love to have this setup but just a bit too pricey right now for me , I have the max6 v3 in my erevo , what an amazing esc 8s capable and runs nice and cool with tons of options. NEEDv this setup in my chevy.
@@ExocagedRC no worries I'll consider that:) but now got trouble on the axle the dogbone axle shaft touching the axle causing the dogbone scratch might be broken in time this happens when turning the steering..did you experience this?

Yeah you just have to pre order it and wait. Supply is not keeping up with demand.

What ESC do You use with the Stock 21 turn and 4S ? - as mine will NOT work on 4S with the Stock ESC XL5

REVolutionX the 2300 does good but the 2700 is better however it’s a bit long so fitment may be an issue

Yeah I run the max6 in several trucks and never an issue. This new Axe seems promising.

Pretty much any crawler you want. It’s a long can 550 so figment could be an issue in tight spaces.
