It worked!!!!!! Thank you so much. We don't have an ACE, but we do have a small independent hardware store much closer than the big box and I took my part and they found the replacement. $7.62 - so, so, worth it!!!!
Great video. Went to Ace got the part. Mine was the bathroom sink faucet. I broke the first replacement because I did not notice the alignment notch on the replacement valve and the matching notch on the faucet. If they don't line up you end up with a leak. My handles were removed by an allen wrench on the back side.
....except when putting it back together, you said "you are gonna take the OLD one, and pop it back in" ???? I think you meant to say you take the NEW one and pop it in.
You take the old one with you ( and what they didn't say) change the o- ring and the washers, then you can put the old one back in( with new washers) should stop leaks!!
Actually thank you very, very much bc I was about to go crazy trying to figure how to get my handle off bc there is no tab for a screw on top lol so I seen him use the Allen key so I went back and observed my handle better bc I was looking at the top and the bottom lol but the hot and cold aka red dot 🔴 and the blue dot 🔵 on the handles are a plug and you can take your fingernail an pop them out and bam you have access to your screw.. so thank you 😊 and now I need to walk literally 200 feet over to my ace hardware and get my cartridge
Lol He didn't even try to determine whether it's the hot or the cold that's leaking! Chances are it's either one or the other that's leaking and not both. The first step should be the following: 1. As it is leaking, count how long it takes for a drip but it's not necessary. Just note that it drips! 2. Go under the cabinet and turn off either the hot or the cold but not both. 3. If your turn off the hot only and it stopped dripping, then it's the hot that's having problems. 4. If after turning off the hot and it's still dripping, ,turn off the cold. It should stop and the problem is the cold. 5. You can double check and turn the hot back on while the cold is off. Btw, often there are very cheap washers you can replace and not the cartridge.
I’d add that, my practice is that, while I’m at it, change both. They’re both the same age and the other one may go soon too. As long as the cost isn’t terribly high, which I believe is the case here
There's nothing to determine when I push on the cold water handle it stops, when I release it it starts leaking again and the water is cold. I think we need another sock for you😂
Well, the last time I went to ACE the guy was extremely rude and very impatient! It seemed that I was a big inconvenience for him! I never went back! First impressions matter! I go to the big box store and even get my military vet discount!

LOL at 2:11 - why would you want to put the OLD ONE back in?!?!?!
It's just a demonstration. Smh😒😒
I thought the same thing when I heard him say that! Haha!
They don’t call them ACE for nothing thank you sir!
I love Ace Hardware you guys are the best

On my cold water side water is dripping under the sink when the handle is turned on.
It drips directly from under the mounting nut. Any idea why?

Thanks - I was wondering about that!

Actually he said to feel the drip to see if it's warm or cold first.
I cannot get the first step done the top part is unscrewed and it won't turn,
How do you decide which side is causing the drip?
Turn off the cold first, if it leaks it's the cold, if it doesn't, it's the hot!
@@blueskies6475 That's what I did. Turn the cold off first under the sink, and if is still drips, it's the hot. Easy Peasy.
I'm surprised he didn't cover the proper alignment of the piece.
There are many other parte you got to replace. You did not show
Great stuff. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing
Grasias por la explicacion❤
