Manifesting a conversation between Ranbir Kapoor and Bharadwaj Rangan. He is one of the best actors in the present day Indian film Industry in my opinion, In most of his interviews,he is so passionate about his craft as an actor and very few interviewers have explored it. As an Aspiring film maker,I wish Bharadwaj Rangan can have a conversation with Ranbir Kapoor on his craft and his film choices...
Same here🤞🏻🤞🏻
Yes..I am waiting for that moment...one day it will come let's see.
I would love to watch that mahnn!! Fan of both. And since BR liked "Animal" he would ask Ranbir questions about choosing it and regarding it's controversy and criticism , without going to an attacking mode.
Idk I have seen him either playing a crying bf/manchild or a guy with daddy issues throughout his career so far. He is quite repetitive.
Wow that would be great … manifesting 🔥
Watching Imtiaz Ali talk is like free therapy sometimes. It's one of those conversations that you never wanted to end, the one that goes all night long without actually realising that so much time has went by. Once again BR pulled off another masterpiece of an interview.
When they were discussing about that "spy movie" and the person beneath that made him the spy, it struck in my mind, What if Imtiaz Ali directs a biopic of BR itself, A critic who is genuinely in love with the movie who see the craft in itself and pulls of a movie that shows the person behind the critic.
When two sensible guys talk, magic happens ❤❤
Imtiaz Ali is one of the best movie maker in this age. I wish he makes more and more movies. Jab we met is my all time favorite and never gets old. Tamasha is amazing, agar tum saath ho song can make any person cry regardless of his relationship status. Finished Amar Singh chamkila and wow what a story, how amazingly it has been shown. Only hoping and praying Imtiaz ali makes more movies now. ❤❤❤
Just came here after watching Chamkila on Netflix!! Brilliant Brilliant Biopic I would sayyy..
Imtiyaz Ali is definitely back with a bang...That spark is back which was definitely missing since Tamasha(2016)..
Talking to BR for celebs must be like talking to a therapist who understands what they go through in their job. May be that's why he's soooo good at extracting these answers. He isn't trying to subconsciously judge them like a paid therapist would but be genuinely interested in the craft.
Be you BADDY ❤ Be You ❤
Imtiaz is a special guest but
As a woman of nearly 40 years old, who has both loved and lived. I love how both Imtiaz and SLB represent Love, they both show different sides of the same. And if you are grown up in a society who loves to control every aspect of ones life, you do feel the both sides of love. Imtiaz's love is, when you want to hide it from your own shadow and just feel. All the work is internal. The feelings are so subtle yet loud to yourself. SLB on the other hand, especially from a woman's perspective is, when you and your love is at its loudest, wildest, angriest and most rebellious. You want to break the chains holding you down, you want the bloody world to know that you did it. You have dared to Love, despite the restrictions the world/family puts upon you. Its vast and beautiful. And I love how they both show it on screen.
He is so well-spoken. Thank you Baddy for the wonderful questions. It is also a joy to watch people being able to express their love and affection for someone's work. And kudos to the DoP of the interview particularly for the close up of Imtiaz (4:18) , it's almost as good as a Renaissance painting, with the orange back light and the beautifully textured key, and also the wonderful production design. It feels like Imtiaz is exuding warmth which is the source of the backlight. Really beautifully done.
Such a wholesome interview. But I was waiting for the Geetanjali discussion so bad, you have teased and didn't deliver BR. Now you have to make a whole new episode for that!!
I'm yet to watch the interview, but I'll like the video already because it is Imtiaz.
What BR initially getting at is Imtiaz makes movies about passionate, all-consuming love. Not the soulless, transactional love that we all settle for these days.
Classic filmmaker whose work is timeless ❤ aptly described..very underrated filmmaker in India.. every movie of his resonates with different phases of life for normal people. Its so rare filmmakers work connect with audiences.. he is one of those rare filmmakers 🙌
When Imtiaz said he don't know much about screenwriting, I almost felt it. Because once I was checking the script of Tamasha and it wasn't structured in a way that most of the screenplay does instead it was like a story writing just, writing!
Yes he is not a filmmaker who learned filmmaking even he didn't work as assistant director or made short films he just landed in his job as he knew nothing about filmmaking
I still feel “Socha Na Tha” is his best work
Oooh no, tamasha is.
@@ashishtyagi8361 Tamasha is overrated... Too much noise around it. Ppl liked it because an avg frustrated job going person in India can relate to it. SNT, Jab We Met and Rockstar are much better
@@vikramsharma5561 I totally agree with you, but two main stream privileged motherfuckers showing you what a middle class human does is an achievement
@@vikramsharma5561Honestly jab we met and Rockstar were peak
Rangan Sir, please direct a movie, would love to see your work❤
Such deep and different perspectives about love, I've never heard. Imtiaz is a genius.
32:24 one could see how much it meant to IA when BD confessed he is a fan boy
what an incredible interview. This interview like a masterclass on filmmaking and the crafts of the same. A conversation where 2 incredibly talented and qualified filmmakers in conversation. I consider Bharadwaj sir filmmaker too because your knowledge about the craft is incredible sir.
What I like about this interview is I am seeing it after 2 months and I've experienced the fantastic movie that Chamkeela was. Yet going by his movies before this, BR did not conduct the interview with prejudice. Coz Imtiaz redeemed and rediscovered himself after this movie and BR gave him a chance.
Baradwaj sir..what a great conversation 👏🙌👌 I just want to be a spectator of a live show if Sir can plan to do something like that..like film companion live audience shows.
Bharat Ratna for A R Rahman.
Love is the wine and the wine cup.... what a quote. Thanks Imtiaz Ali.
Baradwaj Rangan and SRK..would be awesome.
I have often seen tha most of the artists are really interested in conversing with baradwaj. i have seen the repeated boring interviews where imitaz is asked about other stars and actors, this interview brings out the creativity and depth of imitaz
The whole segment of Imtiaz talking about love and it's different interpretations was so liberating . ❤🎉
Chamkila will be greatest blockbuster
It is releasing on Netflix though
I hope Ranbir and Imtiaz get together again 🤞
They might collaborate with this spy project 28:38
Composed man is delivering without much hype. I love it🎉
Loved the interview!
Loved this❤️
A lovely interview ❤
Such good conversation
What a conversation ❤
Wonderful!
Awesome Interview 🎬👌🎞🤘🏻
BR Interviews are like learning when especially they were with someone like Imitiaz Ali and Sandeep
Some day my friend ❤😊
I’d pay to watch you guys speak. One bald, the other beautiful, both of you seeking poetry where almost everyone else sees despair. Keep the shitz going Baddy ❤ one of the other 4 who loved Zero, LAK2 ✋🏼😄
Same
Really liked lak2
Where BR as a host and us can get a perspective to expand beyond what we think can be thought about. There was more than one AHA moment for him n us.
Letters from war💙💙
I was so happy when he used the word history and then tain tain phisss ...he used the word mythology
Sensible interview....imtiaz pls direct aamir khan..
❤❤❤
Nice movie chamkila ❤❤❤❤
Why is Netflix logo in the background of BR ? Great interview btw
Chamkila is coming on Netflix, not a theatrical release
@@ShahulAkbar oh good point.. i thought BR is coming up with a show on Netflix at some point

11:06 letters from War (2016) line you've discussed is being done by Krish in 2015 itself. Mve name is "Kanche"
Katru Veliyidai is in some ways a Love Story about a man who is a soldier (not a spy) and discovers himself through his work.
1st time seeing BR in this complete fanboy phase..😂❤
Because south movies don't make romances ?
you missed his conversations with Mani and GVM and recent addition Sandeep Reddy Vanga
I loved Jab Harry met Sejal. Someone, please tell me what was wrong with that movie. It had the trademark Imtiaz Ali exploring oneself story. The acting was excellent.. apparently it was not intense yet it touched the right chords.
Loved harry met sejal tho ❤
Will watch this but can't understand the reverence for SLB. All he does is loud costume drama revolving around same themes...Imtiaz is much more intimate, and yes much better sense of music.
No you haven't got the essence of slb
Form taking precedence over substance is the very Indian sensibility in general
@@aravindkumar6631 I am glad for that
@@aravindkumar6631slb can make a great wedding photographer
To each his own. But, I feel SLB goes more for a grand viewing experience. I liked Hum Dil De.., Black, Guzarish and Gangubai... He is a different type of filmmaker, and sorry, he also has a great sense of music. These are all subjective points. I like Imtiaz Ali's characters more. Anyway, for me both are great filmmakers.
I think sometimes Imtiaz is barricaded by the financial aspect of moviemaking due to which he doesnt have complete freedom over his projects thats why he ends up caasting a Sara Ali Khan in a film like LAK2. He thrives when there is complete creative autonomy offered by a giant like Netflix

What is "mazi" connection br tella
love aaj kal 2 cafe was called Mazi where Randeep Hooda used to sit and tell his love story to Zoe (Sara Ali Khan)
Oh watched that movie never noticed cafe name
8:36 Premam movie has 3 love stories from 1 person
Yes but the one there were talking about wasn't about sequential love, but rather about multiple love at the same time or being able to love right after a breakup.
Man discovering him through being a spy, this has been done through the "She" series na which has been produced/written by him. The Woman police comes to terms with her sensuality through the mission she is assigned to
Br, wish you have asked imitiaz about his take on recent south romantic movies which has made a impact & bollywood far behind who were once king of romance in 70's, 80's,90's- 96,Hridayam, sita ramam, love today, premalu.
32:07 Usssss Baddy Usssss
Its so unfortunate that while Imtiaz is talking abt Krishna and his wives/loves he cant name him, he is saying oke figure, etc. had he said this someone would have taken offence him being muslim saying this pointing out multiple wives culture in islam etc etc etc..
Point being, though he is good expalmes making sense, he has to be so cautious coz of current circumstances!
Stop being offended and crying over every fucking thing like a 2yo kid ffs.
Maybe the word you were looking for was "Sufi".
A day for interviewer ,when he can't pull out thhe words from his being 😂 iit usually happens when you don't prepare yourself thinking that iit is bayein hhaath ka khel.
Tamasha fans like here
Sir nowadays also it is difficult to sleep with a woman before getting married. What you are talking is only true for upper class.
Not for the gen Z's

This is THERAPY for me.
Ye movie dekh ke fir feminists and mysoginy ke masiha jaagrut ho jayenge 😂🔥😎
Jab We Met will remain his best work. Socha Na Tha and Rockstar comes close second. Tamasha is his most overrated work, ppl liked it because frustrated job going ppl in India can relate to it. Highway remains his most underrated work
Imtiaz Ali Sir please do that spy love story movie with Ranveer Singh 🙏🏾🙏🏾. I promise he will eat that role and will leave no bones 🔥🔥
bastard flop movie
Mf let the movie release first
Nothing great about Imtiaz Ali.
I have seen his "Jab we met" and liked it.
I thought "Cocktail" was trash.
Rest of the movies are passe.
Dude Cocktail is not directed by him😂. Are you sure you watched all his films?
He didn't direct cocktail. He co-wrote it.
Dude, this guy directed Rockstar, don't say you didn’t understand the essence of rockstar.
@@whywhynot3373 Spielberg is great filmmaker because he make movie in different genre
