  • Short on time lately but I know how much you all love Call of Duty Warzone, so thought I'd record a match, completely unedited with my favourite settings at 1440p.
    I'm going for the win here so stay until the end to see if I am successful. I have reduced the resolution of my video to 1080p because a 35gb file (native screen capture) was going to take all weekend to upload!!
    Running on the Razer Blade 17 Pro RTX 3080 100w (max q)
    4k 100% adobe RGB 120Hz IPS touch screen display
    Intel Core i7 10875h
    32gb RAM
    Razer synapse set to Boost (cpu) High (GPU)
    Optimus disabled with the MUX
    Performance metrics displayed with MSI afterburner.

    Figured out why the cpu wattage was low. I logged into my blade 15 the other day which I have limited to 3200 mhz. Windows seems to have applied the same settings to this device even though throttlestop isn't installed. Bizarre. I've downloaded throttlestop and corrected now so warzone is back to being a cpu nightmare haha

    Nice gameplay. I think I am going to pull the trigger on the Razer 17 3080 4K 120Hz next week. With the shortage of laptops in stores it is so difficult to determine whether it makes more sense to spend less money on the QHD version or go full 4K. I have heard reviewers say you can't take advantage of 4K on a smaller screen, that you can't tell the difference. but I disagree with that. I have a Microsoft Surface which runs at 2736X1824. When I would sit that next to my 1080P Razer I could easily see the difference.

    • @WarneysWorld
      @WarneysWorld  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh I think there is a huge difference. The 4k screen is stunning. I have heard good things about the qhd panel too though and I suspect the 3070 version won't be far behind in performance. The 3070 qhd will be the best value device in the line up in my opinion.

    Hey man, thx to videos, I'm debating between base/ advance and 17" pro don't know should I get 17" 4k or just regular 1080p. Was planing to add 3070. It should be enough for 60fps on ultra settings. I think. What do you recommend?

    • @WarneysWorld
      @WarneysWorld  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lots of great options in the razer line up. I think a 3070 with a qhd display is probably the best match between resolution and GPU performance/value. I love the 4k display but I'm someone who enjoys tinkering with game settings to maximise performance as much as I enjoy playing the actual games, so the 4k is great for me, but you do have to tinker for the best experience.

      Yeah I'd aim for a 3060 model if you can. Otherwise the 2070mq is still a decent performer at 1080p. Only title it will struggle with is cyberpunk - you'd be looking at high settings without raytracing.

    hi i am thinking about buying the new razer blade 17, do you think i should buy the 4k model or qhd ? most of the time i play warzone, and some aaa games, if i downsizing the resolution to 1440p on 4k panel vs qhd model native resolution, which one do you think looks better, also i use laptop to watch youtube and Netflix a lot, thanks

    • @WarneysWorld
      @WarneysWorld  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the 4k panel is a nicer screen in terms of brightness and colour but the 1440p one might be a better match (more carefree) in terms of gaming performance. I don't mind tinkering with settings so it's a good match for me.
      Have a look at some of my gaming videos to get an idea if you think the 4k performance is good enough. For me it is. I play warzone a bit too and upscaling from 1440p to 4k in that game looks great and performs well.
      For games like cyberpunk 2077 and Minecraft RTX you will definitely get better FPS/image with the 1440p panel.

    • @WarneysWorld

      Sounds great, it may look a little sharper if it is running native 1440p rather than upscaling to 4k like on my device. I really can't tell the difference though because pixel density is so high.
      You can't undervolt 10th gen Intel because of a security vulnerability but if you are concerned about temps you can use throttlestop to limit core boost frequencies and wattage, which (see pinned comment) I had accidentally done here 😅

    Pubg killed itself didn't it, I had 1000 hours on that and then they took away map choice, added flying vehicles, added bots. And that downfall happened just in time for warzone's release.
    I am gunna get back into Pubg though, it's just so much more chilled than Warzone, plus because my squad mates play on console, I always get destroyed by someones auto aim.
    There's always a space for you buddy!

    • @WarneysWorld
      @WarneysWorld  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I uninstalled PUBG long before the flying cars - I just got sick of the cheats ruining the game. I tried to go back a month or two ago and it just felt so dated after Warzone. You're right though, Warzone has zero chill. Everyone is on their game (apart from me this week!!)

    • @Markjonathan
      @Markjonathan 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WarneysWorld You're right, the movement in Warzone is so fluid, that playing Pubg, Arma 3, Insurgency, Squad literally feels like you're playing an indy game on a tiny budget. like trying to pick up items in Pubg after playing Warzone!
      The issue with Warzone is that it's the same game strategy everytime because it's YOUR loadout. PUBG made you play a certain way depending on what guns/scope you found. I miss that

    • @WarneysWorld
      @WarneysWorld  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Markjonathan That's so true - I hadn't really thought about that. You can't play without loadouts either because ghost is too overpowered.
      When you think about the list of things warzone has, like money, uavs, contracts, load outs, perks, gun customisation, the gulag. There was so much innovation in this game.

    • @Markjonathan
      @Markjonathan 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WarneysWorld definitely, and I find so many people like to pick one or the other, rather than realising that these are really two different genres within battle royal.
      Warzone is a sprint from start to finish, with an emphasis on killing, hence why there's sniper glare, the vehicles show up on the map, the gas is so damaging. And that's great, I'd call this more of an arcade battle royal, then there's say pubs where you might find a good area of the map and stay put for a good 10 mins without seeing anyone.
      My pc friends think that warzone is too unrealistic, my console friends think the other games sound boring.
      I happen to see the best in both.
      For me, cods blackout actually got it spot on.
      Maybe map size is another reason why warzone seems repetitive, say 4 out of 5 games if expect to go past downtown and stadium.
      Whereas on pubg the circle will absolutely dictate the game you play.
      (Turning into a story) pubs was at its height when it brought in the weekend events, when you could play 8 player squads. For me warzone had missed a trick introducing random game modes like 6 ,8 or 10 squads just for a change up. Or a hardcore mode with no glare or hud

    • @WarneysWorld
      @WarneysWorld  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I really like the balance of the gas. It makes more sense that it's deadly, but I think it's also good that you should have the means to get in to the circle if you're minded to do so. In Pubg it is much more likely that I get messed up by a bad circle shift.
      I never played blackout but I heard only good things about it. I was hoping they would release a new version alongside black ops cold war. I still think that would have been better than the integration of the two, but I still think warzone is great so I'm not complaining.
      Without Pubg none of the others would even exist!

If you read notebookcheck's article here www.notebookcheck.net/Here-are-all-the-slowest-and-fastest-GeForce-RTX-3080-laptops-you-can-buy-right-now.529039.0.html they note that the 100w blade 17 performs far closer to the 165w ge76 than to the likes of the g15.
      I've been running it for 20 months now and it still operates at around 65 degrees whilst gaming and never drops frames.
      And yes, I use DLSS a fair amount and it gives a boost and looks decent in most titles. In warzone I ran it at 4k with DLSS here: th-cam.com/video/0_FYRKEV9iY/w-d-xo.html and got similar framerates at 4k

      Yes - although it can drop to 130 in CPU bound scenarios.

    Hello, I'm planning to get my first Razer Blade (2K 3070), but 17 seems too big for me. And currently the 15 advanced is out of stock. I am quite struggle between 15 base and 17 pro. Do you think the Vapor Chamber is important? Is the heat pipe for base good enough? Thanks!

    • @WarneysWorld
      @WarneysWorld  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have both a 15 advanced 2019 model and a 17 pro, and I prefer the 17 pro. You're right, it is a bit bigger though and would definitely be a bit heavier if you are carrying around in a bag all day. I don't think the vapour chamber is necessarily any more effective than heat pipes. My understanding is that the base model may have been able to sustain higher CPU core clocks than the advanced 15 on the 2020 models, and I think that could continue seeing as they made the advanced model even thinner. I would be tempted to wait for reviews before deciding if you can.
