Born and raised in Santa Clara and I MISS THE ORIGINAL SANTA CLARA B4 tech took over 😭😩😫 Central Park was across the street from the original Santa Clara Kaiser Permanente that moved to Lawrence Expressway. Great America is no longer part of Santa Clara bc they are gonna shut it down in the next 10 years. That’s memories. Ugh! I miss the orchards I would play hide and go seek in.
hmmm. The University of the Pacific was first charted in SANTA CLARA IN 1951. Then moved to San Jose then Stockton in 1923. It was originally called California Wesleyan College. To me it seems a dubious claim to call your self the oldest college in California when you have move twice and changed your name dramatically. Santa Clara College was founded in 1951 in SANTA CLARA. Its now called Santa Clara University and is still in Santa Clara in it's original location, although it has drastically expanded. I think the public can debate which is the oldest university in California, but it's pretty obvious to me.
@@santaclaraliving Santa Clara College was not always a college. My guess is that you know this. However, It has indeed moved a few times and was not where it is today. The first Santa Clara Mission location was near Guadelupe Creek long before the town of Willow Glenn ever existed. Today there is a Masonic hall near the original mission site but set higher up. The original Santa Clara mission was flooded out. Than it was moved. The site where the first school was built in the valley was Presbyterian which moved to Monterey California. A Catholic college Prep moved into those buildings which would ultimately call itself Santa Clara College, however, they too were destined to move. In its place came Bellarmine School, which is still in business today. The Santa Clara College moved to where Saint Clara’s elementary school is today but moved again to Lexington and the Alameda where the big Asis Church is, which by the way is not the original Church. The Santa Clara College was Chartered only days after The University of the Pacific, but still, it was not the first.😞.
Santa Clara University has just added 800 more undergraduates this academic year, 2022/2023. Once again lowering their academic standards in order to accept more intellectually challenged bodies who can pay their outrageous tuition of $52,998. Tuition at Santa Clara Univ. is more expensive than Harvard, Brown or Princeton. 🤣🤣😂😅
Stan's the man! Love this place!
Nice video!
Thanks Michaela for your comments. I love making these videos. Have some good ones coming up.

While you may wish that Santa Clara University is the oldest in the state, it is not. University of the Pacific wins that title.
