Since Pakistan was heavily leaned on/funded by the USA during the cold war to prevent Soviet expansion in the Indian Ocean , India took it as an insult that THEY were not the preferred partner instead of their deathly enemy. So they played a balancing act between NATO and the Warsaw Pact to gain technology and funding from both. That's why they have such a massive variety of equipment. Britain sold them some navy ships including aircraft carriers.

Also the aircraft carrier can be seen as India's progress and journey....the first aircraft carrier INS VIKRANT was bought from England.....the second one INS Vikramaditya was bought from Russia......and the third which was recently launched INS VIKRANT (also known as IAC-1) ...was a homegrown carrier....

One aircraft carrier, three Hunt class destroyers (look them up if you are ready for a giggle) three rather decent Leopard class frigates. What else? The vast bulk of naval equipment was Soviet.
We have our own space force but it’s kept behind the veil for whatever reason might be. We are the fourth country who has anti-sat weapons so this already hints others about the country’s ability in space. We generally don’t flaunt our space related ability in military domain and also we don’t flaunt our cyber warfare to others.

For people wondering about the origin of Indian weapons.....
The older ones mostly were Russian or French origin.....like Russian migs and french jaguars and mirages.....Russians helicopters like Mi 17s ...
The latest ones include a mix of Russian flankers(suhkoi's) french rafale's, indian made Tejas ,American P8i and predator drones , israeli's heron drones....
Multilateralism and non alignment can be headache for india during global conflicts but apart from that it gives india to have the best of both world's through collaboration and joint production....
Prime example is India's Su30 MKI .... it's is a Russian fighter jet tailor made and modified for india with israeli and french subsystems and avoinics and equipped with indian Russian and some western missiles..... It is considered the most superior version of Su30 anywhere ....
Similarly india purchased s400 air defence system from Russia for long range air defence , developed barak8 with Israel for mid range and and home grown aakash short range air defence system.....using American predator drones , American P8i for submarine hunting while uses french made scorpene disel electric submarine and Russian and now indian made nuclear power submarines.....
India is now on path of self reliance and is constructing more and more of these weapons inhouse each year....through licensing , joint productions and even standalone projects....
P8I and MQ-9 predator/ Reaper are of naval aviation not air force.

The air tanker looks like the Airbus A330 MRTT. I didn't see India on the list of operators, so maybe it is one operated by a friendly country.

Indian Air Force have Russian, American, French, and Indian origin aircrafts and many more as well.
India is also developing it's 5 th and 6 th generation aircraft.AMCA
Those commandos were Garud commandos (Commando unit that protects the air bases of India in its territory and abroad).
The main fighter type is Sukhoi Su-30MKI. The future fighter: Rafale. The domestic option: HAL Tejas. There are and has been others types too, like MiG-21 and Mirage 2000, but I think those three are the most important ones.
Su-30 and Tejas were well presented in this video, Rafale not so much. Mirage 2000 got a lot more screen time.
Rafale is present not future... Future is Tejas MK2, AMCA etc..

After independence in 15th August 1947 Indian Airforce used British Knats , Canberras etc. and French Urugans etc. fighter aircrafts and some British and USA transport aircrafts . Then from 1960 or 1965 onwards India started using French Jaguar and later Mirage 2000 and Soviet Union Mig-21,23,27&29 + Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter aircrafts and Soviet transport aircrafts like IL-76 (Illushin 76) . Recently (say 15 to 18 yrs back) India started using USA aircrafts like C-17 globemaster III , C-130J transport aircrafts & Chinook and Apache AH-64E helicopters for Indian Airforce . Indian Navy is using P8-I Neptune (Indian version of P8-A Poseidon of US Navy) and MH-60R for Indian navy . Indian Navy is also using 2 Sea Guardian drones leased from US Navy for 2 yrs . Indian army is using M-777 artillery guns . These are some weapons India is using which are from USA . For few years USA was interested in selling F-16 block-70/72 and F-15E strike eagle (latest version) to India but India was or is not interested because USA binds clause to its sales and India doesn't like these US clauses . So India purchased 36 Rafale F3R from France . Probabl India is going to buy more French Rafales in the near future . Indian Airforce will also be using Airbus C-295 transport aircrafts in the near future . Contract has been signed for probably 64 C-295 aircrafts . We (India) always wanted to buy US military hardware in the past but USA never trusted us and instead trusted a terrorist country like Pakistan . Slowly the situation is changing . We want to buy or collaborate or co-produce in some cutting edge technologies like drones , nuclear submarines (especially SSN) , Nuclear Aircraft Carriers , Fighter Aircraft Engines , Marine Engines , etc. India has made lots of military hardware indigenously like artillery guns , mbt (main battle tanks) , mbrls (multi barrel rocket launchers) , light transport helicopters like LUH (Light Utility Helicopter - single engine) and ALUH (Advance Light Utility Helicopter called Dhruv - twin engine) , LCH (Light Combat Helicoter named Prachand - twin engine attack helicopter like Urocopter Tiger) , lots of missiles , corvettes , frigates , destroyers , one conventional aircraft carrier (stobar) , etc. India has made indigineously single engine light fighter aircraft (LCA) named Tejas but it's engine is GE-404 . India is planning to make a medium fighter aircraft named Tejas-2 with GE-414 engine . Recently I heard USA is going to transfer technology (TOT) for making GE-414 engine in India by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) . India is also wanting to make high thrust engine (say , 115 or 120 kN thrust) for its twin engine AMCA (advanced medium combat aircraft) project . India wants USA at its side but USA wants to dictate terms . Then US will loose India as its ally . India never back stabs or leaves its friends and allies in times of crisis , which US does .
3:03 kargil is a district in india. The place where IAF did the operation was 16,000feet above sea level. Thats a big achievement to cary put strikes at that height with comparatively old equipments.

Most of the combat fighting planes are from Russian & France. Very few planes & helicopter r purchased from the U.S. like C-17 Globe master, Apache, Chinook, etc. Others like Mig 29, Sukhoi mki 30, mirage 2000, jaguar, recently add rafale, made in home Tejas & old mig 21.
3:20 Thats a basic low altitude flying heli. Basically it flies on low altitude for scouting purposes and it has to stay off the radar so this is the smallest and best heli India has in this sector

It looked like a lot of French mirage air craft but I could one thousand percent be wrong. It looked like there were some mig 29s as well. I understand India still has a lot of old Mig 21s as well that they have upgraded to be more competitive with modern needs.

India does not have US aircraft.
Most of their aircraft are Russian and French deigns, like the Su-30 MKI, the Mirage 2000 and the Rafale fighters.
India also makes its own HAL Tejas light fighter and in the past was involved as a partner with Russia in the T-50 PAK FA stealth fighter program that resulted in the Su-57.
Both the Indian and Russian air forces were going to get about 250 aircraft each, but later on, India pulled out of the program because of technical delays and other issues.

Contrary to other countries that started their Air Forces as parts of their Army or Navy, the Indian Air force is pretty old, being established as an independent branch 90 years ago.

1947- Pakistan routed tribals to invade Kashmir which was a Monarch controlled territory. The king asked for help and India did.
1971- Pakistan launched Op Searchlight and tried to genocide Bangladeshis because of internal political dispute and India attacked Pakistan (both to prevent genocide and weaken a naughty enemy). US sent it's naval battle group to stop India and USSR sent some nuclear subs to counter-threaten that group, so without US interference, a genocide was prevented (read Hamudoor Commission report for reference.)
1999- Pakistani Army, tribals and terrorists jointly occupied Indian side of the mountain peaks during winter which were meant to be vacated by both sides due to a mutual agreement during a time of rare peace and harmony among the two nations. Basically, their military disobeyed their political leadership covertly (read "In the line of fire", the autobiography of Pervez Musharraf, the then Chief of Pakistani Army for reference) and India suffered terrible casualties trying to retake the peaks where the treacherous enemy was well dug in. IAF made very thin slices of organic pancake later on in the war.

He meant, that the United States has 5 branches: the US army, airforce, marines, navy and space force. The space force has most inter command and coordination under its ambit, such as global surveillance, so he's saying traditionally what would be under the ambit of operations of the US space force would come under the indian airforce, based on his inference from the video.
For reference, India has three branches, airforce, army and navy.

India has loads of US aircraft, the Apache and chinook helicopters, not to mention the entire transport fleet is made up of Boeing aircraft.

So the US aircraft are: mh60 romeo helicopters, Apache, chinooks, c17 globe master, p8-poseidon, Mq-9 Reaper drones,C-130 Hercules.Maybe the reason why India doesn't buy any fighter Jets from US coz restrictions on integration of Indian nuclear payload delivery systems, and all these aircraft were bought within the last 2 decades coz relations btw both the nation's was really bad before that(Pakistan effect)

Doing a show on somebody's documentary requires some research. Not asking questions and BS for the rest to make it looked credible.
I noticed they only talked about the airforce post-independence. Before that I know it was the Royal Indian Air Force when the British were there.
If you check out the Indian uniforms, you can see a lot of the RAF holdovers imo.
