One of the things I like about your channel is your very correct English and calm way of speaking. I love amateur radio and I use your videos to find out what's new and practice my English.
hope you get a sample soon Peter. I did like the x6100 - brilliant radio for the money and hackable too. i sold mine on only because I needed to consolidate my kit but it went to a great home.
Hi Peter, I waited over a year before I brought a Xiegu X6100. Because the firmware was very poor and I waited till until they upgraded the software. I had no issues with the build and quality of the radio. But I had a issue were I would charge the battery and the firmware would corrupt and I had to reinstall the firmware. With the updated software it worked has is should. Saying that I had lots of contacts and worked over 2000 contacts on FT8. Hope you are feeling better after having COVID. And Happy New Year. This is going to be a great hit! No worries for the bugs, since it's sdr. Happily waiting for the updates! It's going to be the next portable shack in the box. Yes xeigu is starting to give the operator what he needs. Xeigu,,,,next step ip67 and 20w pls!!!!!!!
yes, that's okay, but buying these cheap radios will be the death knell for the Big three companies. you get what you pay for it has always been that way. you are not doing yourself and other radio hams any favours. I know I know we all have choices. but think before you buy anything. I have always dealt with W & S have have always had good service, but remember they are a shop and want to sell as much as they can. This has nothing against Peter.
My X6100 has very poor ssb tx audio and the internal mic does not work? I have just returned it to Moonraker for the 2nd time. However, it works very well in cw and digital modes and no problems with overloading or spurious birdies. 73 Rob G3RCE
Yeah..one of the problems ive found is ensuring meets UK\EU features\spec vs North American market specs in the fm modes often over looked. Huge mistake. Only 8watts. Think the g90 will be there flag ship. No point in all the bells and whistles if you can't be heard. OK the diffence between 8 and 10 in negligible. But from 8 to 20 that's background round noise and being received.
The 6100 was garbage (WAY too many bugs on launch and for months afterwards) and they failed to add 2M/70CM to actually compete with the 705. I'll stick with my G90 and now 705.
Curious if you actually owned one? The x6100 is a very nice little receiver. It had a few issues at launch but is now excellent. I will definitely be looking at the 6200 on release.

Many thanks. Much appreciated.
Love your reviews, always very detailed! I have a X6200 on Pre-Order.
Hello my friend in the UK thank you for sharing this radio I like the upgrade except it's only 8 watts
hope you get a sample soon Peter. I did like the x6100 - brilliant radio for the money and hackable too. i sold mine on only because I needed to consolidate my kit but it went to a great home.
I was hoping that it would be 20 watts like the G90. Would have made a nice radio for mobile and easy to mount.
Not in a case that size!
Ya 0 to 20W!
I cant wait to find out the expansion options and full release specs.
Thank you for the Video and informations! All the best to you and yours, vy73 from Hamburg/Germany, Dietmar, DL4HAO :)
Same to you! Take care. Peter

Do you take 6100 trades for the 6200?
Yes we will, but not until they are available an we now the retail price.
I am waiting to find a used X6100

I would have liked for them to add 2M and 75cm to compete with the IC-705. Overall, a very interesting radio, though.

Maybe that top plate is for a plug in key or paddle? Just a guess.
Unlikely as there is already a key socket.
Yes I thought of that but thought maybe they'd make their own plug in like Elecraft does. @@watersstanton
when will the 6200 be out to buy
👀Thanks for the detailed view on this promissing TRX

Send me one, I be glad to test it out! 😋😋😋
if it had 20 watts, that would be exciting..
That would need a decent heat sink and increase radio size.
The 2m band is already working on the 6100, thanks to firmware from a well-known Russian.
They are doing a lot of HF.
Hey folks lets open a swap-line of used chinese radios right here.
Dropping from 10 to 8 watts is 0.97 db loss, or about 1/6th of an S unit.
Never notice it in real world operation. 73 mike
Yes.
Well god almighty !!

Yes 20w is better and 100w even better. BUT many of us like small “shack in the box” operation. for light weight portable fun.

The x100 with the Russian chaps firmware beats the 705 in the hf spectrum.
Let's not forget that many people, myself included have had no issue with the X6100. Zero complaints.
You are the first person I've found to say such things. They are well received in all the groups I'm in so no idea what issues you have had.
Curious if you actually owned one? The x6100 is a very nice little receiver. It had a few issues at launch but is now excellent. I will definitely be looking at the 6200 on release.
You never even saw one in real life sad ham.
FT8 Decode
hopefully less birdy's than the 6100
Did you ever in the whole of your life had a picture taken on which you were smiling?
HNY.
Ha Ha. That mace me laugh!
When is the video starting
