Tekken 8 is my first fighting game and even I knew it
I feel like that story arc has been left unexplored by the devs. From what I have seen it was always about mishima feud but in tekken 7 and 8 the focus has been massively been on it and other characters are getting left behind

@@95DreadLord A lot of the non-Mishima characters stories tend to be sidelined. At best they are tacked on into the main story like the Nina-Anna feud. I mean, I get that its not the main story ultimately, but its kind of weird that every entry you get this supposed character progression, and yet we actually see very little of it on screen.

Tekken 6 did not matter as Azazel was completely fine in T8. T7 didn't matter because Heihachi is not only completely fine but stronger than before. T8 doesn't matter because there's still a devil going around thanks to Reina and Jin decided not to kill Kazuya. Not only is every Mishima still alive and hating each other, we have one more member of the family added to the mix.
Pretty much nothing in the status quo has changed since T4 canon ending except there's more Mishimas like Lars and Reina going around and the Zaibatsu changed hands a couple of times.
We're even back to pre-devil Kaz and Jin.
The story of Tekken literally does not matter because it's never been particularly well written lmao

Cause they're way too confident to the point its annoying to watch, I also hate it when there's a clear chance to Rage art but they keep doing combo and risk failing instead
Pro player or not any human in that situation would be in a lot of pressure, which ultimately means they will at some point drop combos and make stupid decisions. Let's give them credit where it's due
@@devseiyayou clearly have never played in any tournament. Sometimes nerves just make it extremely hard to be on point with the execution, specially when there is a lot on the line.
it feels like some of these pro players just don't want to use rage arts at all. idk if they think it's a cheap victory but like, y'all out here playing for money, take the dub if it presents itself.
@@cinnabonbons In most of those cases either they're unsure the rage art's gonna be enough damage to kill or it's a weird axis and it could miss. Also rage art stops the momentum if you're rolling your opponent.
Atif is such a gentleman. Even after another crushing 2nd place loss, he immediately gets up to lift Rangchu's arm as the champion.

Running up and doing twin pistons is so crazy but it makes sense when you think about it because Kuma doesn't have any other fast moves with similar ranges that hit mid on the first hit; if he chose ff1+2 that would've either been too slow and gotten CH or the movement would've tipped Atif off

Bruh, I've been following both Keisuke and Farzeen since CEO and EWC respectively. 2 weeks after and I still can't believe both of them became the highlights of TWT Finals, in their own "unique" ways.
Also, I think a week or two before the Finals, I witnessed a (troll) Kuma player getting 3rd in my local tournament. I guess that's the reason why Rangchu's second win was not as hype for me, because I already could see a bear winning another TWT even before Day 1, especially since Drag nerf ._.

But, they're still Melee fighters that punch and kick, have clear weakness in sidestepping - which is an interesting interaction with the mechanic of the fighting game -, and have been trained in the lore by traditional martial artists to follow their styles. Show me what melee martial arts style do Victor or Clive use when they phase in and out and have full screen projectiles and use their swords from range 5.

Not because they have a lack of weaponry, but they are beautiful due to the fact the players themselves are skilled enough to show us the matches are more than the characters they picked. Say what you will about Clive and his range. There is a spectacle to be seen when someone overcomes the odds in general. That is my opinion at the very least.
