In the actual fleet your dress blues are stuffed in a ball in your rack and you wear them once a year.

Maybe in the fleet now but remember many a day I manned the rail in my blues.
I also remember some cold watches in Norfolk back in the day when I was standing watch as messenger to watch and I had to wear my dress blues

You do know the uniform was originally meant to fold up on the creases to be store. Older ships didn't have a place for you to hang them.

Ghost stars and stripes are when you iron the uniform folded over itself, leaving an imprint of a stripe or star on the opposite side of the uniform
