It does seem a bit heavy for a full carbon kit (frame, rims, seatpost, cranks and bars) and a medium frame. But then is that a full bottle? That could weigh about a pound and half or more.
Even at 10Kg, for a full-carbon-everywhere bike it is quite heavy. KTM has factory standard bike at 8.2Kg without any super-fancy stuff. Just regular Fox 32 SC, Eagle, DT Swiss wheels, Ritchey cockpit.
I ride an alloy Superfly in size 19.5 with some 1660gr wheels and with tubes. 1x10 full XT, carbon bars and seatpost, m520 pedals. My bike is 10.5kgs. So definetely is something wrong with the weight shown here. Probably is more in the area of 9.5kgs.
I am a bit confused about all mtb tech and different styles of bikes so to my knowledge there are 4 main types of mtb bikes not including e-bikes and fat bikes: cross country, trail, enduro and downhill and all of them can be either hardtail or full suspension rolling on 26' 27.5' 27.5 plus 29' 29' plus wheel on clinchers, tubulars and tubeless tires, also dropper seatpost in optional, did I miss something??
Yes.. The reading on the weigh scale is incorrect. Calibration was not set up properly I'm guessing. This bike should weigh somewhere between 8.9 to 9.4 kilos minus the water bottle and Garmin.
Hey Doddy, my fingers hurt, my tire levers are broken. There has to be an easier way to put a trainer tire on rims! We are in our "3rd" winter here in Ontario and I've been trying to swap between riding outside when it's nice and on the trainer when it isn't. I've been successful with patience twice but this third time I can't get the tire on (Tacx 27.5 MTB trainer tire). Any tips because I'm !@#$ing DONE!!!
Hey Trek GMBN... If I were you I would edit in a comment about the real weight before everyone writes off Trek xc bikes as being way heavier than your competitions offerings. Proper nice bike but I'm also with those thinking the weight might be a bit overstated given the full WC build, even with a computer and bottle installed?....
10.8kg? that is 3 hekto heavier than my old steel 18" schauff hurricane XT with first gen Crossmax wheelset and indy xc fork, sadly now only a frame on the wall. If I only had my form from back then!
Mind blown by the nothingness of a hub sound. Wasn't expecting that^^ Is it just me or does Anton Cooper have to be very, very small? I know it's a medium sized frame and those 29ers probably make it look weirdly small and short tho.. but dude that thing must be uncomfortable as hell when descending or being in a rock garden! :O Great bike check anyways, loving them!
There is no way this bike weighs 10,800kg ... Mine is a Procaliber 9.6 2017 size M / L, with NX Eagle ratio, Sunrace 10/50 cassette and aluminum wheels, and weighs 11kg spiked! This bike weighs a maximum of 9.6kg.
HertZ Gaming - The first two events were in South America, so I'm assuming that's why they didn't send anybody there. The next round is in France, so I am certain there will be plenty of EWS coverage and bike checks!
I have a procaliber 9.6 myself. So awesome to see how his procaliber is compared to mine
Keep the xc content coming!! Loving it!

that's what I thought my top fuel is only 22lbs
It seems foul. Also it's a 750ml one. So the bike should be 10Kg without it.
Even at 10Kg, for a full-carbon-everywhere bike it is quite heavy. KTM has factory standard bike at 8.2Kg without any super-fancy stuff. Just regular Fox 32 SC, Eagle, DT Swiss wheels, Ritchey cockpit.
Something wrong with the GMBN calculation, 10.8kg is not 21.1lbs

Finally! A Procaliber! Glad to see my bike model on the show! Thanks, Doddy!
how much does your bike weigh?
@@arnostokes7898 around 27lbs for size medium, pretty heavy for an XC bike. My Ibis Ripmo is 30bls
@@cliffsangelsphotography still not to bad
prob a bit stronger too
@@arnostokes7898 yeah, very strong. I did a lot of super technical descents and speed through rock gardens with no problems. Just lots of discomfort 😅
The XC content on this channel is great lately 👍
Did you weight with a full water bottle? My aluminum hardtail weights 10.5 kilos.
Doddy makes that bike look like a 15.5" frame!
OMC built I was thinking he makes it look like a kids bike too haha.
Ahaha yeah what is his height btw?
I think 6'4
It will be a small frame - Anton Cooper is a small guy.
It's a medium but Trek frames are tiny!
I love those Bontrager Kovee rims!
WHO CAN TELL ME WHAT SIZE OF STEM??
This type of content again pls! Lots will love ot
How does he see his garmin at that angle?
You can still see it because xc riders put their body down most of the time
May i know the length and angle of the stem? Ty

Dirtjump
I have a 2018 Procal 9.6. Absolutely love the bike!!!
10,8kg? some issues with measuring the weight or the bottle full of water?
But what size frame....?
Geometry
Even though Stem -40 if you look the handle bar is LEVEL with Saddle
Yes.. The reading on the weigh scale is incorrect. Calibration was not set up properly I'm guessing. This bike should weigh somewhere between 8.9 to 9.4 kilos minus the water bottle and Garmin.
Lovely stuff! That stealthy free hub would be mega handy for racing. Digging all the XC bike content
Are you shure about the weight of the bike? It looks too heavy for a World Cup race bike
What are the downsides of such a quiet freehub like that? That needs to be on my next bike
Lil more Enduro and All-mountain please. Love to watch you guys!

Are you sure about the weight? My alloy bike with tubes weighs the same...
+bottle+garmin
I doubt the bottle is full ;)
ITS because of the tires. These are heavy
Tetero lleno mas ciclocomputador y se confundieron en la conversion de libras a kilos, esa bici debe andar por los 9.0 - 9.3kls

Why so heavy though? 10.8kg for a hardtail?
Forgot the Full Bottle to remove
What is the frame size???
That's heavy! My trek 9.9 ssl is only 19.2lbs and reliable, seriously could get it down to 17.5lbs though, it's crazy light
It has a full bottle!
@@richardmiddleton7770 well spotted, didn't notice that, the bottles 500ml, so 500g..
10.8kg? that is 3 hekto heavier than my old steel 18" schauff hurricane XT with first gen Crossmax wheelset and indy xc fork, sadly now only a frame on the wall. If I only had my form from back then!
What I don’t get is why sram made the slightly cheaper X01 eagle cassette lighter than the XX1 eagle it’s the same with the old 11sp ones aswell
What is cooper’s height?
How tall is doddy?
I'm using 80mm -17° stem with 680mm straight handlebar, I might try more extreme angle 🤣
Mind blown by the nothingness of a hub sound. Wasn't expecting that^^

he is 5ft 4 so that is why the short stem and that insane negative angle
That's pretty small indeed.. but it explains things^^
Makes you wonder what he doesn't like about the small frame....
@@_Steven_S could be clearance/wheel base
THANKS FOR HARDTAIL REVIEW !!
That light weight and ultra Unobtanium componentry and costing £20,000 for us. Well worth every penny
Any more negative rise on that stem and they might as well start mounting them under the heatube :-|
10.8 Kg is really heavy! I've got a hardtail with a 125 mm dropper post that weighs less than that.
It has a full bottle!
@@richardmiddleton7770 agree! he should get that bottle out. 10kg - water bottle = 9kg which is a perfect weight for an XC bike
What a good looking bike
3:23 22.1 LB =10,024391 kg
great looking frame
Next time, remove the bottle before weighing the bike. Also, why is it full to start with?
Looks fast!
Epic bike check!!
There is no way this bike weighs 10,800kg ...

trek is just overated
Love Trek!
10.8 kilos for a Hardtail at the WC circuit?
exactly even if the bottle is full its only about 800 grams more. this is a heavy bike, chasing nino's 8.5 kg hartdail is giving too much to nino.
th water bottle .. He forgot to remove it hen he weighed it
I have Procaliber 9.9. and weight is 9,4 with 2 cages and one 29 tube for exchange. Tubeless 18,5
My 9.7 weights 10.5.
His hardtail havier than full-suspensions of Kulhavi and Gaze on 0,6 kg?! Despite Anton has much smaller bike frame than Speс guys...
It has a full water bottle!
That's heavy pro bike 10kg
Seems like the water bottle is full though.
I think so too,but it would be still heavy
ITS because of the tires. These are heavy
That’s that freaking stem...
10kg
still fairly lighter than other bikes
That is a nice looking bike .
The quietness of the rear hub is disgusting and anymore negative rise he might as well throw on some drop bars
So cool I love it
When Doddy makes bike check he makes every frame look like size S or M
40° damn thats slammeeeedddd
Surprised he uses sram groupset with a shimano xtr pedal
That stem is ridiculous.
z.browning agreed
z.browning no it ain't
Maybe I'm just too much of an XC guy
I love it. For XC? sign me up.
Negative stems are dope
Did he just say push fit bb instead of press fit bb
There is something wrong with the weighing scale.. Should read more like in the 9kilo range not 10
We think that maybe our scale needs recalibration perhaps
10.8 kilos is pretty heavy for a hard tail ,but I see he also has a dropper post. Still..
He doesn't even have a dropper. But still..
That is a bad ass hardtail
That's the weight with a full bottle!
The weight is wrong
22.1LB == 10kgs
How much bike I like that, bike,
10,8 kg? That is quite heavy for a hardtail
With full bottle :-D
Hey,
Please Update us on the weight, thats way to heavy even If the bottle is full. ( I think)
My friends Aluminium ht ways the same 🤔
The Most expensive Procaliber on Treks page weighs 8,8kg
Lemo_Manda I think the weighing scale must have an error
It uses twist shifters omggg
how the F does he read that garmin ?
that is one heavy carbon hardtail
Anton is Only 5 Ft 4"
THAT STEM
mega aggressive stem, looks like Leonardi stem
10,8 kg with a full bottle of water, guys who are weighing it? Are you seriously?
Bicycle Kulhavy was even without pedals!
Pound heavier than my Specialized Epic
Kazak Thranduil it has a Bottle and a computer on it.
Too heavy! Anton is on a 10.8kg hardtail chasing Schurter on a 8. something hardtail . Giving away 2 kilos is a big handicap.
It has a full water bottle!
Looool 10.8 kg for a HT....Loooool My own S-works Epic FS weights 10.9.....
Hey 11th!!!
nest time be more careful and weigh the bike without the waterbottle!
😂
You look huuuuuuge next to that bike!😅
22 Lbs w/Full Water Bottle...
10.8kg ? joke ?
😭🤣🤣😎😎😎😎
Per essere una front e pesantissima dato che il top di ganma😂😂

XC bikes have really become very similar to road bikes
Isaac Haupt
With what?
The overall look. I glanced up and thought was seeing a roadbike in profile. Not the same type of riding at all, but the look and feel is closer.
Isaac Haupt
I think it’s reverse-road bike became more like mtb.
Compact frames,disc brakes,wider tyres...
Also true
It's heavy
Better then porn!
Tomer baruch it is porn!
:D
TNX :)
Should rename channel to "XC Bike Checks" as well.
TH_Shizz ikr
Relax, XC world cup season has started, DH hasn't. When it does there will be plenty of bike checks for the gravity minded people.
OMC built im more concerned is with EWS and enduring as a whole than DH but Ok
Totally agree. Where is all the EWS news???

Im tired of red.
Red sucks :(
All these trek bike checks are so heavy
