Nice! Is it possible to get 480 out of that VFD or would you need to get a different one?

Good question, this VFD is designed to have 220-240v single phase input, and output 220-240v three phase. Most drive manufacturers have several input and output voltages for a particular size of drive so usually you can find the voltage you are looking for!

Great video guys! One question, does using a drive prolong the life of a three phase motor or is it harder on it? THANKS

Great question! With a properly sized load reactor and an inverter duty motor you shouldn't see any reduced life in your motor. Without those two things you can have some transient voltage spikes that could break down the insulation in the windings at a very slightly increased rate, although with the lower inrush current through the motor windings in a VFD setup versus an across the line starter I believe the motor life would be about equal, especially with the motor being within 10 feet of the VFD.
