3 dimensional creatures surf upon an emerging wave of the 4th dimension, and we refer to it as now, which may appear to sit still, but actually travels through the 4th dimension like a wave of an ocean moves across the ocean like something other than the ocean itself
@@JCPatient The subtitles of this video are burned subtitles. In the automatic subtitles it's written "flow of the Dow" which is a mistake though a different one. And one can understand that those are machine made, so fine. But if someone offer subtitles then this person needs to understand what Alan Watts is saying in plain English. "Doll" doesn't have any meaning and seems even disrespectful considering that this youtube channel is making money out of the interest people have in Alan Watts words and that the channel is using this recordings without paying any royalties. Hence my complaint.
you must consider the intended audience of the author......and i believe that Chuang's intended audience was young people.....specifically the children of the Chinese elite.

Briljant! Thanks

I can not accept the idea of an authentic man as opposed to a hypocrite. they are both ingenious in their delusions.
13:30 ...the flow of the doll?? What doll?
'Tao" or 'Dao". The closed caption is at times incorrect.

Why the stupid background music?
Wow, I thought Taoism was about being less judgemental. Chill and enjoy the video.

That might be true. He didn't write his book. It was compiled after his death, so it was no longer him doing the teaching.

Is it necessary to have this ridiculous music competing with Watt's lecture? Why have this horrible annoying sound in the background?
