What I really enjoy about how Logain is presented, is that he is the Third Era analogue for Demandred. He is that one who was THIS close to being the dragon. The decisions he makes, the choice to be a hero with his power, rather than descending into jealousy and evil, reflect what Barid Bel Medar COULD have been in the Age of Legends, insteading he becomes one of the most devious and powerful among the forsaken. Login could have been the same, just like Mazrim Taim, but instead, he becomes a hero, and will be recognized in the Next Age as one of the great heroes of the Last Battle.
And he’ll likely receive the credit (and rightly so) for beginning a new era of male Aes Sedai, despite the idea for the black tower being Rand’s originally
I always thought Logain was wasted potential, and I think having him as a POV character in the show is the right call. I hope that Grady, Narishma, Flinn and the other notable Asha'man have more to do in the show than they did in the books. Narishma especially seems like he needs more presence in the story, for some reason.
I love Logain, one of my favorite things in the series is when characters who aren't our mains are shown to be talented and competent and having their own adventures, like Lgain, Androl, Pevara, Pevara's friend who starts the hunt for the black ajah (Seaine?) it adds more to the story than Elayne or Egwene having yet another lost talent manifest or having to tell every secondary character what to do. And Logain is the best among these characters because he has a very satisfying arc. I'm excited to see him played up more for the TV show.
Logain is such a good character. He goes through a much more understated arc than the mains, as side characters do so often, but he rocks it by being so dependable and solid. Love me some Logain.
I just wanted to throw this out there. I just finished the entirety of the WoT series and I’m extremely excited to be able to watch your red spoiler videos!! Thank you for your content.
I feel like Logain was a character who got lost in the shuffle. Jordan probably intended to do more with him but there were so many other characters and plotlines some naturally got pushed aside. Unfortunately, Logain was one of those.

Something that keeps coming up especially in regards to lews therin is the ring of tamerlain. Ive always assumed that tamerlain is the male equivalent of amyrlin and I would have loved it if someone had given logain a replica of that ring and he took up the mantle of tamerlain since the title of mhael has been tainted by mazrim taim
Tamyrlyn is the first person to tap into the true source if I'm remembering my lore correctly. It's also probably a name that's a WoT version of Merlin (Ta-Myrlyn)
I would have loved to have seen how Logain resisted the attempts at turning him. I could just imagine his jibes at the Myrdraal and the dreadlords as they tried.
I read the entire series in 4 months and now I feel like a big part of my life is over. I wish there was more but I’m happy it was left to end perfectly.
Yup. Revisiting all of your old vids to get ready for the turning of the wheel. Episodes 1-3 are out and I'm soaking up all this nerd facts I can get without a complete reread. Thanks again
I liked Logain's character in the book. I think rather than spend as much time on Perrin's hunt for Faile and Faile's time in Malden, we could have had more scenes at the Black Tower (from Logain's perspective) showing us the division between Logain's faction and Taim's faction. RJ could have not given us any PoVs from Taim at this point to highten the impact of the reveal if the turning of Ashaaman in the last few books.
Rand had a vision for the Black Tower and due to circumstances he was hands off. I think that Logain embodied the ideal when he protected the refugees and said "The Black Tower protects... always." This line brings tears to my eyes, I think it was one of the most significant scenes in the last book as it frames a major part of the future for the world. I think what made Logain so powerful was his absence, it showed even minor characters could create major waves. One of the best things about the setting was how the cultures felt organic and in The Black Tower you could see a seedling take root, Logain is and will be the gardener. As mentioned he'll likely live for 700+ years and I think that post last battle he'll become a stabilizing force for the continent. I often wonder what part he would have played in the Outrigger series that would have focused on Tuon and Mat.
Lots of people wish there was more of Logain in the books… but I think he is so liked because he is not in it. You build a lot of who he is in your head; so we all like him for our own reasons.
Logain is minor but important. Closer to the end of saga you realise that every minor character is as much important as major one in that intricate Jordan's weave. And i like so much that Jordan unlike many others shows that life is a pretty complicated thing. Butterfly effect :)
Theyve really given Logain a much more visible presence than what i remember from the books. He was just a weepy mess in the beginning. When he was healed and returned to the fold, to serve Rand, it was honestly a tear jerk moment. Im glad they are presenting him as favorable as he can be.
@@fabyobrenneraraujo8050 Right, so casting him as a 55+ year old (Rickman's age in the first HP movie, which is when I'm assuming this person imagine him as Logain bc of the long hair and dark look) is as ridiculous as people who fan cast Michael C Hall as Rand.... I think that everything Androl did in the series, aside from saving Logain, should have been done by Logain. Androl wasn't even mentioned until the last three books, then showed up to steal Androl's thunder.
I always have liked and did admire him in the first read. The tower treatment, the hate and fear by the public leads him to a dark place...but not evil. There in my opinion should have been a POV from Logan to Rand in the issues they both encountered you know dragon to dragon. He pulled through in the end because he is a leader and not a tyrant. Please why is the black tower a penis and not a Dragon....yeesh
It was designed that way - jokingly - by Nae'blis in response to the look of Tar Valon and the White Tower being portrayed in most of the artwork around the series as the female equivalent.
I would have loved for Rand to build a close male friendship with someone else than Perrin and Mat, specifically with another channeler. I think Logain would have fit perfectly into that role; the start out not really trusting each other but with time they would become close friends. A bit sad Rand's and Logain's relationship was expanded further.
Yes! That's one of the main things I feel like Rand is missing as a character, a close friend he can relate to strongly and interacts with fairly regularly. Strong friendships are often some of the most cherished parts of stories, and his relationship with Mat and Perrin isn't really written in that manner. I think he was never envious. He thought he was meant to be the DR, so his intention was to save the world, his nature was ultimately altruistic. When he was severed and another man appeared to be the real DR, he realized he was not the protagonist of his times and he lost his reason to live. Then when Nynaeve healed him, he saw hope again and so he sought out Rand, not to supplant him, but to assess whether he could truly be the DR.
6:49 - ummmm The black tower... The unkempt forest... I had never seen a map before, and either the artist had other things on their mind, or Jordan did.
Logain is one of my favorite characters. He is a man who makes mistakes, has to face setbacks, and has to swallow his pride but ultimately he does the right thing. That's the most important thing about him. He is very human in this way.
Thanks Tonya! I’ll have some more coming out here soon. I want to hit most of the main or semi-main characters before the show releases. There are lots of them haha

Minor point on the warder bond. It can be used to compel, as shown with the conversation between Verin and Alanna after she bonds Rand. Verin asks why she didn't compel him, and Alanna reveals that she tried, but was unable to.
Yeah I agree, but I still love Logain. Rand was almost beyond human, and many of the things that were manifest by his presence were hard to believe for anyone of that world. Cleansing the taint is working at the level of deity, and so characters have a hard time believing someone who seems to be a regular man could accomplish such a thing. Just my perspective.
Logan is lost in the seeking of power. Andrall becomes his conscious. The pleading “the children Logan,Their killing the children” that draws him to what’s right again. To becoming a force for good in the world and ultimately to power. A different kind but power none the lesss.
Yes, it is. Nae’Blis made a ‘tongue in cheek’ video where he was spoofing aspects of the books. The Black Tower on the map was one of those infamous creations. Fitting considering what Tar Valon looks like on the map within the books.
Logain was one of my favorites as well but there is another of my favorites that doesn't get talked about much that I wish would be a character discussed. Rhuarc was basically Rand's second in command of the Aiel and was also one of Rand's teachers of Aiel ways. His death was an empty death.
Hah! So that's how Graendal disposed of Asmodean's body... sardine oil. 🤔 Carol Baskin? Phaw! I'm not fooled by such a simple trick as the mask of mirrors.

man i would love to see what happens with logain and cads after the last battle. i think after her mistakes with rand some of her harsher edges might be worn down but these two powerful leaders of channelers are going to have to work hard to see eye to eye, especially with cadsuane being responsible for his gentling in the first place. i don't think war would be in the offing (keep in mind that the black tower is not a part of the dragon's peace, so war is a non treaty breaking option) but i definitely do not see an aes'sedai reunification during their lifetimes either, its gonna probably be a bit of a mild cold war. i don't think logain would ever accept nyn's healing either so he will always carry those scars.
There's no difference between the bond imposed by the Asha'man and the Warder bond of the Aes Sedai, which also gives the power to compel: since Warders enter the relationship voluntarily knowing it entails obedience, Aes Sedai have little occasion to actually compel them.
Coolest male channeler on the side of the Light. Logain, Lan, Ishamael/Moridin, Demandred and Galad are my bros. Rand's dragon reborn power is more my bro than the dude himself.
Fate is heavy on Logain Ablar's shoulders. He has to build the black tower, again. Training , rituals competence levels, exams, Everything! He has to make the black tower function, not only during his life time, but after as well. He has to make peace with Tar Valon, not an easy thing with the misandric witch on the Amyrlyn seat, recreate the hall of the servants, so all is ready for the next battle. Lewis Therin Telamon will come again, to break the world. Poor Logain is his John, the one who prepares the way. Nothing is settled, nothing is over. As long as the wheel exists, everything will repeat itself;over and over and over, forever!
Michael Mcelhatton should play Lews Therin. His voice would be haunting. Would love to see a retelling of the Wheel of Time through the eyes of Lews Therin...with that madman Rand al' Thor in his head
After the last battle Logain moves to Milwaukee and channels the 1 power to move a ancient relic called a motorcycle and changes his name to the Fonz HEY BUCKOO,
I thought the forcing aspect of the Ashaman bond was because the Ashaman required obedience. Whereas since Warders voluntarily become Warders, there is no reason to use the obedience requirement of the bond
When Alanna bonded Rand, she tried to force him to be obedient. But Rand was a special case and too strong for Alanna's obedience aspect of the warder bond to work
So if Siuan were to be stilled again, but healed by a man the second time around, would her power level be what it originally was, or what it was after the first healing.
OK, you successfully changed my headcanon regarding the fate of Asmodean. Which raises the question - when Joe Exotic gets out of jail, who should he play in the WoT show?
Was Logain extra lucky due to being able to channel? I seem to remember that being mentioned in New Spring as a side power that channelers seem to have. Or did he just get regular lucky when he gambled to win the money? Or did he cheat somehow?

question why did Rand need someone to teach him to control his access to saidin and logain didn't?
Michael Mcelhatton should play Lews Therin. His voice would be haunting. Would love to see a retelling of the Wheel of Time through the eyes of Lews Therin...with that madman Rand al' Thor in his head
Hey naeblis, who did that outro song? And are those full lyrics in the book? I don't really remember it. Also more logain is always a good thing
The link to the music is in the description of the video. You should check those guys out!
I’m watching Money Heist right now and super excited to see Morté as Logain!
I saw Logain as part of the horn towards the end of the series
After the last battle Logain moves to Milwaukee and channels the 1 power to move a ancient relic called a motorcycle and changes his name to the Fonz HEY BUCKOO,
When I read the books, I was expecting him to betray Rand almost all the way to the end.
"Mourn if you must...
Nice!
I like the maps you use. Where did you get those?
Where did it explain that one gender can heal the other if being stilled/gentled better than healing the same gender? This was mentioned in the video.
We see Logain healed by Nyneve and several sisters healed by Damer Flinn. All these characters were restored to full power.
When are you going to make a video on jojos?
Mourn if you must but mourn on the march to T'armon gai'don!
I thought the forcing aspect of the Ashaman bond was because the Ashaman required obedience. Whereas since Warders voluntarily become Warders, there is no reason to use the obedience requirement of the bond
When Alanna bonded Rand, she tried to force him to be obedient. But Rand was a special case and too strong for Alanna's obedience aspect of the warder bond to work
Nae'blis please do a video eximination of Asha'man Black Tower 🤔🧐👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Logain was one of the few male channelers that didn’t go mad
So if Siuan were to be stilled again, but healed by a man the second time around, would her power level be what it originally was, or what it was after the first healing.
A true unknown, seeing as even the forsaken thought healing severing was impossible.
Now Alvaro morte (professor) act the character of logain Alber in time of wheel😍
I wish we had more of him in the WOT!
OMG at 5:48 I almost spit my food out. LMAO
MK Genest 6:48, but yeah, lol 😂
Login is not there a lot. But is the only character that, when there, is always impacted. Very little of him does not push story
NICE! LOGAIN!!!!
OK, you successfully changed my headcanon regarding the fate of Asmodean. Which raises the question - when Joe Exotic gets out of jail, who should he play in the WoT show?
a random pumpkin next to the Cairhien Road
Was Logain extra lucky due to being able to channel? I seem to remember that being mentioned in New Spring as a side power that channelers seem to have. Or did he just get regular lucky when he gambled to win the money? Or did he cheat somehow?
I assume he was a minor ta’veran. All things considered.
