    could you do a comparison video with this hairspray and other alcohol free hairsprays like herbal essences? Or any other drugstore hairsprays? I'm looking at the ingredient list and it doesn't seem that different considering the price

    I have been using got2be volumania with some really nice results. It gives me lots of volume if i spray it in before pixie diffusing and some more after diffusing for a while, and then as a finishing touch when done. Looks so good. I also micro plopp. Also flipping the hair while diffusing really adds volume for me. For reference i have super fine hair strands but a gazillion of them. High density.

      @@dkb2375 I usually use the bounce curl one after my hair is fully dry, and usually use the innersense I create finish when my hair is around 80% dry, & I mostly focus it at the root. I also love Pantene's air spray (yes, that's "air" not "hair") as a finisher and/or on my face framing pieces (they are super fine and will lose the curl if I don't keep them in light cast).
      The aquage working spray is another good one, but it's very strong hold so you have to be careful with it.

    Hi Courtney! I've watched your videos for a few years and enjoy them and your Christian message. I wear you shirts all the time, lol. My hair is similar to yours. However, I didn't have a good experience with the CS flexible hold hairspray. I used the light hold and only sprayed it very lightly but my hair was hard and icky sticky just like regular old hairspray. But, having said that, I don't like getting a cast anymore. I find I don't need it and I love soft voluminous hair. So maybe I'm more critical. I've tried 4 alcohol free sprays and none have worked. Manes by Mell recommended Cake Beauty. It does have a drying alcohol but my hair feels soft and it holds and easily scrunches out and smells yummy. I really wanted CS to work but, alas, it didn't. So it went back to Ulta. 😔Another perk is Cake is $9.00. I usually stick to high end products but, hey Mell's a professional so I compromised, lol.
    Thanks for your videos! Glad your nose is better!

    I’m so new to this but I get such bad hold I just assumed I’m imagining the waves in my hair and that I’m forcing it 😂 helpful to see other people struggle with it too! I hope I can get to that point where I don’t have to scrunch out the crunch completely so that the waves stay a bit longer, right now it’s just a stringy messy mess if I don’t.

  • @sarahsp1339

  • @colleencathrae6523

    I so want to try this, I love the strength line except my hair hates every single one of the curlsmith gels. They all dry my hair out and won't hold properly. This even happens when I use the leave in conditioner, cream, and thickening spray for moisture underneath. I figure my hair is reacting to their hold ingredients and worry it will react to the hairspray too. 🙁

    I love the idea of an aeresol hairspray and I have zero issues with sulfates in products. I am curious though. What is your take on the curlsmith claim: "We use only the best clean ingredients, with no Sulphates, Parabens, Silicones, Mineral Oils, Phthalates, DEA’s." but they still include a sulfate in one of their products?

    • @SwavyCurlyCourtney
      @SwavyCurlyCourtney  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I actually asked the company about that and this is the reply I got explaining why Sulfate was in this particular product:
      "Sulphates are cleansing agents which we do not use in any of our Curlsmith shampoos/cleansers because they are too drying for textured hair. In our hairspray, one of the key polymer resins which is used for curl retention and hold, does contain a trace amount of sodium laureth sulfate as a carrier ingredient only. This polymer was chosen due to its benefits, which is essential in an alcohol-free formula to still give great curl retention and hold and won't dry out the hair. "
      This makes sense to me and totally explains why the sulfate is there! I also really appreciate the honestly of CurlSmith. They could have hidden the ingredient in fancy language like "special carrier blend" or something. I have actually dealt with companies that have flat out LIED about the ingredients in their products before.

    • @SwavyCurlyCourtney
      @SwavyCurlyCourtney  ปีที่แล้ว
