I’ve done some comparisons between the A7SIII, A7IV and A7RV.. My experience is if you get the composition right in camera and don’t need to crop in post the 12mp sensor in the A7SIII/FX3/ZV-E1 is more than good enough. The problem arrives if you need to crop in post. The 12mp can manage some cropping, but not heavy cropping. I’ve used the A7SIII in payed wedding photography and the photos comes out just great 😊 Nice video 😊👍🏻
I have a zve1 and I posted a video on my channel recently testing the photos. Like you I was very surprised with the image quality as long as you don’t crop too much. But I’m primarily a photographer so was thinking of adding the a7cii for photo and keeping the zve1 for video. Or sell the zve1 to buy the a7cii🤷🏻♂️. Great video subscribed 👍🏼
Thanks! I have, as you know, the a7iv, and the video quality is very good, and for pictures its awesome. If you can afford both, its an option to have them both, but you really only need the a7cii. I am thinking of selling the a7iv myself since Im using it 95% for video.

Do you have any advice to make the A7iv perform better in low light filming? I like your slow tempo when you explain things in a good way. Sorry to say...but the music doesn't really fit and it's a little bit too loud. I know this because I have the same issues sometimes when I edit videos on our channel. ...but you really deserve much more views and subscribers! You make very good videos!!! 🙂 / Matti in Jokkmokk

I will try to make a video to explain how I am setting it for low light. And I keep the music lower😉(thanks for the constructive feedback!!!)

Here’s the output from the X-S20 though, FLOG2, Eterna LUT without colour grading, not bad! th-cam.com/video/aiax4pQ2WsY/w-d-xo.html - but the corner IBIS wobbles and low light performance is why I decided on the ZVE1. The 17-28 looks like a great lens, need to look into that.
Hi, Im sorry, but your comment ended up in the "held for review" section.. I didnt make a travel vlog on this trip. It was a family holiday, and I have to focus on my wife and kids. How do you like the viltrox lens? I want to test them myself... Tamron 17-28 is good, but I would also check out the Sigma 14-24mm.
What do you mean about how big? I sold my a7iv because of the quality on the zve1, and I shoot video more than photos, but if you take more photos than video I would go for the a7iv. The zve1 doesnt have a mechanical shutter..
@dddavid132 a7iv have better photos, so for real estate photography, I would go for the a7iv. It has more mpx and its easier to crop the images in post.
Really torn between these two cameras. I want to do a mix of photography and vlogging. But every time I zoom into a photo in post all I can see is lack of detail from the 12MP vs the 33MP in the A7IV
As a content creator I've been into grabbing still frames from HD video since 2007 and even from componant broadcast HD formats since the 90s. Progressive 4k video streams at 30, 60 and 120fps make these picture streams perfect for my type of content production delivered over the web. The stills are used to create thumbnails and hero image placards for videos. In fact, I often prefer choosing a still from the video stream over taking separate photos. Less media to manage and sort thru. An ability to capture the exact moment, + WYSIWYG composition lighting, and image rendering. In 5 years time, when 8k to 12k over sampling are normal specs, along with raw 10 to 16 bit colour added to the capture tech at these price ranges ( of course it's coming soon, it's all just processing) separate still camera shooting will start to fade in relevance for multi media creators. For me it already has.
Got some right, but it is hard to see difference between cameras in general when not watched in 100% crop on both + different lenses have different sharpness. Without pixelpeeping I find ZV-E1 to do good enough job.
Trying to decide between the two. I was able to pick the right picture by just going with which i liked the best. Sharpness and colour.. 90% picked the zve1 😅
I am watching the video on an iPhone, so it was hard to see the difference 😂 I was right on one of them and wrong on everything else 😅 I think the image quality was good on the zv-e1 as well. But again , I saw the video on an iphone 😅 great video 😊

I dont know if it is sharper, but I like the image from the zv-e1 really much. So much that I just sold my a7iv🫣

We just went to Split too, but with an X-S20 :) great photos! What lenses did you use? - I’m waiting for my ZV-E1 to arrive in the next 1-2 weeks
In Split I mostly used tamron 70-300, and some with the 17-28. I am happy with the result

Tamron 17-28 is good, but I would also check out the Sigma 14-24mm.
I am happy with the zve1 its amazing vudeos and capable with pictures and better price! No regrets buying a zve1!

I am watching the video on an iPhone, so it was hard to see the difference 😂 I was right on one of them and wrong on everything else 😅 I think the image quality was good on the zv-e1 as well. But again , I saw the video on an iphone 😅 great video 😊

Kinda shocked. Every single picture I chose was the zv-e1 thinking it was the a7iv.
Thats why I just sold the a7iv🫣

That was my case as well. Taking less photos and more video. And the zve1 is perfectly fine for photos as well
