Thanks for your review of this. By far the most insightful about the brand and the company. I've been reading and hearing a lot of good and a lot of bad about UDMC. Quality issues, proprietary parts, supposed warranty issues and attempts at calling out those that choose to criticize. I hope the last one isn't habitual. It's hard to sort out what is someone's knowledgeable opinion versus one that is heard from a friend of a friend or a guy they know. I still prefer Philippine made if there is a local option in anything I buy, and I'm always willing to try and support. So i put a DP down on an S9 DBB. Hope it's good, reliable, and I hope the warranty is good.
Yes, nakita ko rin yung mga ibang "negative" rumors about UDMC customer support and quality issues. I have to say that most of it is not true according to my actual user and customer experience. UDMC customer support is 100% for me and I've had a LOT of dealings with them to have some new AR parts that I purchased, installed. Mabilis nga ang assistance sa akin. As for the quality of the rifles, we need to take into account which generation of UDMC firearm that is. Because the current Gen 5 UDMC rifles are significantly better than the Gen 1 rifles. And I have a Gen 2 PVAR. So far naman, okay siya. But I have only fired around 300 rounds through it, since ammo is expensive and you can't buy anymore due to the permanently temporary ban on 5.56mm and 7.62mm semi auto rifles and ammo for civilians. So I can't say how it performs after 5000 rounds, like what they do in youtube torture tests. Pero this is not financially practical for me to do. As for your purchase of the S9 DBB. congratulations, I am very happy for you. It's a great rifle and I hope you enjoy. I want one too. Please let me know how it shoots, if possible, as I have never fired one of those before. I think you are doing great by supporting the local arms industry.

Piston-driven AR-15s may experience carrier tilt due to the off-centered impact of the piston rod. Have you experienced any carrier tilt with your PVAR? If not, is the rear of the Bolt Carrier Group or the buffer tube counter weight designed to counter-act carrier tilt?
In more than 350 rounds of shooting factory-loaded ammo, no issues whatsoever. That said, you probably need more than that to accurately test the endurance of the firearm. Since the permanently temporary ban on 5.56mm and 7.62mm semi auto rifle sales and ammo to civilians, I wasn't able to do further testing, due to ammo shortages. You can't. The UDMC PVAR's gas piston block is not designed to hold a bayonet and the UDMC Shuriken flash hider muzzle device is too big to fit through the bayonet muzzle cross guard. Like what you said, it also does not have the lug. Some DGIS models have it, though (they use the birdcage muzzle device). Bayonets, for some reason, are not popular here and even the AFP almost never uses them (even though M16A1 and M4A3 rifles have the bayonet lug). The UDMC PVAR is my first rifle. Overall, it is a great rifle and I'd give it at least an 8/10. This video took at least 10 hours to make, edit and upload, so I hope you like it! UPDATE: The Elcan M145 is already being replaced by the Trijicon TA648 MGO. It is however, seemingly still in use by the US Military (as of 2021) since they still have stocks acquired years ago, in supply and circulation. Once these stocks are depleted, the phase out will be complete. I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have, so just comment down below.
Hi nice video, especially for individuals starting the hobby of safe and responsive gun carry like me. May i know where can you refer me to get legally my initial LTOPF? Also would you know any store here in PH selling FNH pistols?
Salamat Sir! Yes, for LTOPF application, you can start sa PNP-FEO One Stop Shop sa Crame (for Metro Manila). For a great gunstore to start off, that sells FNH pistols, try DARC in Makati Cinema Square. You can message them in facebook.
Puwede naman, kaya lang mahal kasi gumawa ng maraming rifles tapos i-stockpile mo lang for use in war. The government has to do that, kasi for such to work, kelangan natin ng 200k plus rifles on reserve. Hindi biro yung dami na yun.
Puwede naman, pero not as an individual. You have to request a local gun store to do it for you and just pay them when your rifle arrives. Yes, I've seen Daniel Defense rifles sold locally. They are expensive, but they do show up on rare occasion.
For me, back in 2013, I was required to have a Type 3 LTOPF for the UDMC PVAR. Not sure if the same pa rin siya today, pero my guess is you need a Type 3. Pero this is not written in the IRR, so a Type 1 can work in theory, pero you have to ask PNP-FEO to be sure. Nowadays, with the "temporary" ban on 5.56mm and 7.62mm semi-auto rifles, hindi pa puwede kumuha ng AR-style rifles.
It depends on the time. Back in 2014, you could get ball rounds for around 23 pesos per round. Nowadays, they cannot be purchased from gun stores. This is because of the permanently temporary ban on semi-auto rifles and ammunition of 5.56mm and 7.62mm caliber. One can only guess what this ban has done to massively increase the prices on these rounds. Today, it might cost as much as 100 pesos per round. But I am not sure since I haven't been able to buy some, since the May 2017 ban.
Yes, if you had acquired one legally before before May 2017, you could continue to keep them. Right now, there is a temporary ban for 5.56mm and 7.62mm semi-auto rifles for civilians.
Yes, they operate using the same principle. A gas-piston AR-style rifle. More reliable than the direct gas impingement system, used by most AR-style rifles.
The temporary banned for 5.56mm & 7.62mm made by PNP is unconstitutional. The constitution grants any citizen of the republic to purchased gun and rifles with that kind of calibre. Sad part is, no one is challenging the decision of the PNP in the court.
The sad part here is that you are correct. But challenging the permanently temporary ban on 5.56mm and 7.62mm semi-auto rifles legally, will require a Petition for Mandamus in the Supreme Court. This is quite expensive, will cost around 150,000 pesos and take at least 3 years. I already asked my lawyer friends about this. I really really hope someone steps up. We need such a guy.
Gusto mga gamit ng Canadian Army at camo patterns. Really cool. Pero tingin ko talaga mas mabangis at magaling sa bakbakan ang Philippine Army. Sanay kasi ang Philippine Army sa totoong labanan against the NPAs at Islamic terrorists. Wala namang totoong kalaban ang Canadian Army within their national borders, so wala sila masyadong recurring combat experience, compared sa Philippine Army.

Very good question, licensed sports shooters have the advantage of having a very high ammo purchase and storage limit compared to normal license holders, but I don't think they are exempted from the 5.56mm and 7.62mm ammo ban. The Bergara barrel weighs no more than a conventional barrel. So same lang din yung bigat. It's the barrel profile that adds to the weight. Yes, my rifle is heavier because of my heavy profile barrel, but this also improves accuracy. So it is a good tradeoff, for me.
@@aaronsean8222 Good question, I am not sure as I didn't weigh it yet, but around the weight of a standard AR15 plus a little extra for the heavy barrel.
UDMC exports Philippine-made AR-style rifles. This is a very good start defense self-reliance in the Philippines. Myanmar or other countries, this creates jobs.
Parts breakages and factory defects can be an issue, and some people would rather send it back. Not everybody is handy with repairing things like some of us are.
I just wonder why yung niregalo ni UDMC kay Digong na PRRD01 is still DGIS and not PVAR? If this is patented and works better than DGIS why gift the president a sub-par gun?
PRRD-001 if I recall, was a personal firearm purchased by PRRD that was customized to his liking, by UDMC. PRRD likes showing his support for local businesses by purchasing examples for himself. Like his shoes and watch. So the rifle was not exactly a free gift.
The Problem on Piston Short Stroked Rifles is Hard to find Components when you break it! all of them use a Propriety or Patent Designs of BCG,PISTON even the Spring . That's why the US Military are Still using M4 DI Gas. Even right now here in the US, A regular BCG is very hard to find! how much more the Propriety BCG. My HK416 needs a new Bolt cause it broke after almost nearly 22000 rounds but in todays situation it's very hard to find.
Yes, this is a big problem. But if it is already hard there in the US, can you imagine how much harder it is here in the Philippines? AR parts of all kinds are in short supply here, direct gas or not, since forever. The best solution we have there is store warranty for UDMC (I hope they stay in business) and the gunsmiths, which we have plenty of here, because of the DIY gunsmithing culture in Danao, Cebu. And if you already fired 22000 rounds through your HK416, then that HK416 has lived a good life. I can't hope to even fire 5k rounds my whole life through this PVAR.

@@philippinericochetline814 yey! Kaya napapa its more fun in the philippines. Haha. And thank you sir sa sagot nyo.
@@itsjohanne8269 Indeed! At least, our guns laws are superior to their gun laws, in this aspect.
Gud day sir, ilang inches barrel mo sir?
I think this one is 14.5 inches.
HK416 vibes right there..
Just not the price. HK is a Gucci rifle. This one is much more affordable.
I don't even think my kidney is worth that gun

Salamat cool water!
Mgkano to sir nung nabili mo? Mgkano na kaya ngayon to.
Gusto kita sagutin kaya lang bawal mag post dito sa comments ng firearms prices.
I know there's a ban on 5.56 and 7.62 ammo but is there also a ban on 223
Yes, there is. You cannot purchase that ammunition as a result of the temporary ban.
Sir taning ko lang puwede bilhin at gamitin ng sibilyan ang m1 carbin?
Good question. I am not aware of anybody who sells M1 Carbines. But you can just go for a PCC, like a Kel-Tec Sub2000. Armscor has those for sale.
As long it's not a Select fire.
The government has to do that, kasi for such to work, kelangan natin ng 200k plus rifles on reserve. Hindi biro yung dami na yun.
Magkano mga yan, meron b sa gunstore
You can get that locally from UDMC.
Question lang po allowed po ba bumili ng rifles overseas like daniel defence rifles?
Puwede naman, pero not as an individual. You have to request a local gun store to do it for you and just pay them when your rifle arrives. Yes, I've seen Daniel Defense rifles sold locally. They are expensive, but they do show up on rare occasion.
@@philippinericochetline814 Thank you po for the reply looking forward for your future videos🙂
You can also chamber that in .223 round
Yes. .223 rounds can be chambered in 5.56mm rifles, without issues.
Kung type 2 po ang ltopf ko and civilian lang po ako, maari po ba ako makabili ng 5.56 rifle?
For me, back in 2013, I was required to have a Type 3 LTOPF for the UDMC PVAR. Not sure if the same pa rin siya today, pero my guess is you need a Type 3. Pero this is not written in the IRR, so a Type 1 can work in theory, pero you have to ask PNP-FEO to be sure. Nowadays, with the "temporary" ban on 5.56mm and 7.62mm semi-auto rifles, hindi pa puwede kumuha ng AR-style rifles.
@@philippinericochetline814 sige po sir, thank you po sa pag sagot
@@miguelevangelista7368 You are welcome!
You said you own this for 10 years and shot only 300 rounds……. Magkano ba 5.56 dito philippines 500 per round?
It depends on the time. Back in 2014, you could get ball rounds for around 23 pesos per round. Nowadays, they cannot be purchased from gun stores. This is because of the permanently temporary ban on semi-auto rifles and ammunition of 5.56mm and 7.62mm caliber. One can only guess what this ban has done to massively increase the prices on these rounds. Today, it might cost as much as 100 pesos per round. But I am not sure since I haven't been able to buy some, since the May 2017 ban.
pwede po ba ito sa Civilian?
Yes, if you had acquired one legally before before May 2017, you could continue to keep them. Right now, there is a temporary ban for 5.56mm and 7.62mm semi-auto rifles for civilians.
Kinda reminds me of Hk-416 on cod mobile
Idol mo ba Canadian Army! :))
Gusto mga gamit ng Canadian Army at camo patterns. Really cool. Pero tingin ko talaga mas mabangis at magaling sa bakbakan ang Philippine Army. Sanay kasi ang Philippine Army sa totoong labanan against the NPAs at Islamic terrorists. Wala namang totoong kalaban ang Canadian Army within their national borders, so wala sila masyadong recurring combat experience, compared sa Philippine Army.
@@philippinericochetline814 unfortunately lack ng modern equipment ang army ng pinas. Yan ang problema pag nag engage ang Pinas sa full on warfare let say versus China... for sure mahihirapan e sustain at e defend ang mga teritory... at the end of the day, babalik tayo sa kung saan tayo magaling... guerilla warfare.
@@JuanDayGaming8952 I totally agree. The lack of modern equipment is due to the lack of budget, which is due to congress not putting in more budget for National Defense because reasons. If we can allocate at least 2% of our national budget to the DND and even PNP, we will go far in being very effective at national defense.
Sa civillian licensed sports shooter allowed ba makabili ng ganyan 5.56 rifle?
Very good question, licensed sports shooters have the advantage of having a very high ammo purchase and storage limit compared to normal license holders, but I don't think they are exempted from the 5.56mm and 7.62mm ammo ban. Kung puwede yun, makakapagbenta sila ng 5.56mm and 7.62mm ammo sa mga legal rifle owners privately.
It would be cool if you made a discord server or something
That is a good idea. I'll probably make something like that at some point. But for now, for long discussions, you can message me in facebook "Philippine Ricochet Line".
How much po pag bumili ng ganyan baril sir ty po
Gusto kita sagutin diyan pero mainit ang youtube sa mga price posts sa comments. If you want to know, you can contact UDMC in facebook and ask them the current prices. Pasensya na po sir.

Bergara Barrel, makapal, hindi ba mas mabigat yun
The Bergara barrel weighs no more than a conventional barrel. So same lang din yung bigat. It's the barrel profile that adds to the weight. Yes, my rifle is heavier because of my heavy profile barrel, but this also improves accuracy. So it is a good tradeoff, for me.
@@philippinericochetline814 sir ilan po ba ang timbang niyan?
@@aaronsean8222 Good question, I am not sure as I didn't weigh it yet, but around the weight of a standard AR15 plus a little extra for the heavy barrel.
Supplayan ko sana ng 300 na UDMC S5 with 3 million ammunitions ung PDF ng myanmar to fight military coup de tat e.. Kaso ban pla. Lol
UDMC exports Philippine-made AR-style rifles. This is a very good start defense self-reliance in the Philippines. Myanmar or other countries, this creates jobs.
What? Why send it back to the manufacturer if there's something wrong with your rifle? You don't know how to fix it yourself?
@@philippinericochetline814 I bought it in 2008 in a very good price. but now Piston Gas stroke is not a reliable unless you have atleast extra BCG and barrel.
@@ballisticapex8138 Not gonna happen here. Both bolt carrier and barrel are controlled and serial-numbered parts in the Philippines. You might as just well buy a new rifle. And parts kits are not a thing here either. Apart from 922r, the US has it so good in this department.
sir pwede po sa mga civilian?
Puwede ang 5.56mm and 7.62mm semi-auto rifles for civilians if naregister mo siya under your name before May 2017.
