    I love Service dogsThis post ended up being quite long I put some of my experience in getting a dog for the first time and I've also put several travel tips when you're traveling for the first time with your new dog. My first dog came from GDB . I can say that although my training was tough it was the best thing I ever did in my life. The dogs of GDB are extremely well trained my first dog barely needed to be corrected and knew his job like you've been doing it for 100 years he save my life three times and I can never repay him. He recently passed away and I feel like my heart has been ripped out without him. One of my favorite memories was the last day of class when we went to the big red forest I believe it was called. And I walked those trails holding onto my dogs harness not scared of falling I was walking so fast that I actually walked away from the group and ended up on a different path I can't tell you the experience it was almost like getting part of my site back it's something I will never forget .
    I was introduced to GDB after going to blind school one of the girls there had I got a dog from there one afternoon we were out shopping and we went across a very busy street I had a cane and a car ran a light her dog actually pulled out of her hand and jumped and push me out of the way I would've been runover had he not intervened . I was amazed that he actually save my life that day I made my decision right then and there that I was going to get a dog and I knew where I wanted to go. Six years later that same dog would save his owners live with an intruder broke into her house and he basically grab him and pulled him outside.I will say that I don't like their new harnesses my dog hated it and I had trouble following my dog I love the old harnesses although I do like the detachable feature. .
    The only thing I am incredibly upset about is that with my dog retired and I went to return to get a second dog I I was rejected because I had a bad back . Despite having been working with my current dog for over nine years with no gaps in between . I was told that doubt it I would be able to do their two week course it used to be four weeks when I got my first dog . I Ended up going to a different school and did a full four week program to get my second dog unfortunately . I was quite upset because my new dog was as well trained as my Frist . Each school trains their dogs differently and he has different standards California is the only schools that I actually have state standards It's called.
    I don't think I would be here today had it not been for my first guide I truly owe him in my life. And I'm also very grateful to have my second dog even despite its quirks he is a wonderfully sweet dog after crying over The loss of my first dog my second dog came up to me inside and put his paw on top of my hands and kiss me as if to tell me it's OK I'm here. I feel that that they are truly angels .1 second ago•

    Can you make a video describing your dreams? Are they visual or just audio? Do you experience nightmares often? I'm really curious!

      @FireStormBaller 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yesenia Velasco I did some research a while back. People who used to see then goes blind sometimes do dream with visuals. People who are born blind and never saw anything before dreams with the other 4 sense. She was able to see then went blind so she should be able to dream with visuals.

      FireStormBaller That is so interesting, thank you for the info! Do you know of any good research papers (including your own) that I should read to get more acquainted with the topic?

      Yesenia Velasco
      I think I saw the topic on a youtube video, so I don't exactly remember where I got the info from. But I remember it because it made sense.
