5:40 The fact that your watch charges slowly is a good thing.. I don’t know why people get so het-up on slow battery charging. You have failed to understand the slower you charge ‘any’ battery, the longer you preserve its power cells. The reason it’s slow is because - IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE SLOW!!
Yeah they would finally enable nearly instant charging and then people would complain when there battery is trashed after a month. You can never satisfy everyone lol
@@XenoDrake I sleep with mine. Use it to track my daily workouts, steps, wear it to work. I get home charge it for an hour or so and it's good to go. Can you not stand to part from your watch for an hour out of your day. It's really not the end of the world to take it off for a wee bit 🤷♂️
I've owned the gear S2 and S3 for the last several years, and one thing that is incredibly cool for me, is that Samsung has their own PC program to allow you to make your own watch faces for free, and transfer them to your watch over wifi. I've been making my own faces for years now so I can have exactly what I need without paying for it. Great video overall!
@@MarkSpurrell I just purchased this watch in the 41mm it sucks. The biggest issue is the battery life. It's worst than my Active 2. It has ECG but missing calorie count. I had to download another watch face with calorie count.
I really want this watch, but I've found out that the ECG, BP, and fall detection apps will ONLY work if you have a Samsung Galaxy phone. I hear you can also modify and sideload and hack to get them working on non-Samsung phones, but that's a lot of work that can go away with an update. I have a Note 9 right now, but if I get this watch, then I'm tying myself to my next phone being a Samsung purely to keep the watch working with all the things I paid for. I don't like that, so I'm going to sacrifice the ECG and probably get the Ticwatch Pro 3 instead.
I speak from the experience of owning 2 pebble watches, 5 wear os watches and a full android watch. I can confidently say that my galaxy watch active 2 wiped the floor with every single smartwatch I've ever owned period! 😃
Don't do it I have both the Galaxy Watch and Watch 3 except for some new features its not as good as the Galaxy Watch battery life definitely is lacking on Watch 3

Meanwhile in parallel universe, my Garmin Fenix does two weeks on a battery charge. Sure it has less smart features and the screen can’t really be compared but needing to charge my watch every other day would be a nightmare for me. Dedicated fitness watches are getting new features with every new generation and they are now good enough for most people looking for a smartwatch. And on top of that they offer excellent fitness tracking, great HR sensors, ruggedness and another level of battery life.
I’d LOVE to see a video showcasing what it can and can’t do on iOS. I mainly want to be able to track fitness, and change watch faces. I don’t need apps, calls, notifications or anything of that sort. Curious if it can do those things while paired with an iphone!

Good review. You said it brightens up on bright days? Automatically or did you mean you can turn up the brightness? I'm considering the GW3 but am concerned the face will wash out in direct sunlight. As my Note 9 phone does...unless I remember to turn up the brightness before I step out...which I rarely try...never use my phone when walking. Just turned on "adaptive brightness" on my phone. ForgotF about that feature. Is this what you meant when you were talking about the GW3?

It's a great deal. Almost as good as the magic keyboard but the trackpad isn't nearly as good. It turns it more into surface pro device than a traditional laptop because of its hinge style. I think you should go for the magic keyboard if you can but the folio touch is miles better than the smart keyboard.
Idk why? You are hella limited if you use an iPhone with it. It should be well-known that when you jump into the Apple ecosystem, you're generally going to be strapped in to Apple products.

I own 2 of them (The watch 3 and previous model) Immediately after 1 year of regular usage, the watches heats up while in use and shuts down. The heating is so unbearable, if you don't pull it out of our wrist, it will burn the skin. Samsung service center checked them and asked me to pay up almost half of the watch cost to replace the motherboard and battery.
There are some great apps within this store if you could be bothered to look, for example ,Poddy,My converter,Air mouse,Gear Tracker, Run4Gear 2, GPS Navigation,Outdoor Maps,Mobiteka G keyboard, Samsung's own web browser seams good enough for the social media stuff and youtube. There's useful widgets and apps that are embedded into watch faces such as Sporty Watch. This is just to name some.
I love my GW3 just got it for Christmas. Was pretty disappointed to find out it does not support the Beachbody on Demand app while my wife's apple watch does. I would hope this is something Samsung will implement in the future?

You can get a GPS/google maps app for a few bucks on the galaxy store. I wish it was free for the watch but the apps are being developed by small companies or individuals who aren't Samsung so they have to charge something.

i bought one and took it straight back!! one big flaw here in the uk you cant install google pay and are stuck with crappy samsug pay which will not accept any of the uk banks just some wiered pay as you go cards. i tried my nat west lloyds and barckleys and none of them are supported. come on samsung sort it out what a letdown
galaxy watch 3 should be cheaper than apple watch. Like you said, Samsung is not putting effor they should. Just redesigned watch, put some features that actually no one needs and bumped price big time. It looks great now, but it should be a bit better to justify that price

Thanks for the review I have brought this watch with the note 20 ultra when I first received the watch it wouldn't connect had to contact Samsung to get it to connect using LTE and can someone help me with the setting my watch don't last for almost 2 days mine last less then 10 hours maybe I'm doing something wrong any suggestions
I suspect the LTE versions of this watch have worse battery performance because of the constant connection to LTE. You probably aren't doing anything wrong.
I get maybe a day and a half of power with the LTE version but that is with alot of features turned off. I read that samsung has released an update to address battery life on galaxy watch 3 but the update is being released by regions.
I have both Galaxy Watch 3 and Active2 love them both. Use one for day time and the the other for gym and sleep. Always keep them plenty charged this way. The draw back is you can only use Samsung Pay on one watch.

I have an active 2 and Galaxy Watch 2. As far as I am concerned, no need to buy the latest if the features aren't out yet. One frustrating thing with Samsung is they tell us way, way ahead of time of new features, but I haven't yet seen any. Why spend the money when it's way too early?
My Galaxy Watch 2 had water ingress from regular freestyle swimming for 20 minutes per session. Samsung refuse to admit their watch is not really 5 ATM water resistant and is charging me the price of a brand new watch to repair it. I'm posting this everywhere to warn potential buyers. Apologies for spamming.
Tizen lacks apps... It is a problem... Much like the Windows Phone paradox... But since watches don't need as many random apps, this is forgivable... What is not forgivable is removing some features, like MST after the Gear S3, and lowering the battery life between the GW1 and the GW3... Then the lack of apps starts to stand out more... But we have facer, and okay integration with Samsung phones... And Water resistance... I just always feel this is 1 step forward, 2 steps back on every device... Would be nice to have some biometric logins too...

I have the same thing, my Gear S3 is still running fine and I don’t see a lot of new features that make me want to switch.
Samsung Health uses to track my weekly miles then an update happened and no more tracking. Does your watch and phone track your weekly miles?

I'm a lefty so I wear mine on my right hand, only thing is that the screen won't rotate, samsung needs to do something about it
I have an active 2 and Galaxy Watch 2. As far as I am concerned, no need to buy the latest if the features aren't out yet. One frustrating thing with Samsung is they tell us way, way ahead of time of new features, but I haven't yet seen any. Why spend the money when it's way too early?
My Galaxy Watch 2 had water ingress from regular freestyle swimming for 20 minutes per session. Samsung refuse to admit their watch is not really 5 ATM water resistant and is charging me the price of a brand new watch to repair it. I'm posting this everywhere to warn potential buyers. Apologies for spamming.

Why keep comparing this watch to the s3 frontier? The galaxy watch 1st edition came out sooner and is much more similar to this new one
Tizen lacks apps... It is a problem... Much like the Windows Phone paradox... But since watches don't need as many random apps, this is forgivable... What is not forgivable is removing some features, like MST after the Gear S3, and lowering the battery life between the GW1 and the GW3... Then the lack of apps starts to stand out more...
But we have facer, and okay integration with Samsung phones... And Water resistance...
I just always feel this is 1 step forward, 2 steps back on every device...
Would be nice to have some biometric logins too...
