Thank youuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cool thing is, you can leave tiling on by holding "option" while dragging windows. So if occasionally you want the feature, it's not hard but otherwise. STOP RESIZING!!!!!
Thank you. This is a stupid default function; I loved being able to turn it off. Apple had lost their mind thinking this was somehow a benefit to its users I thought this kind of thinking was a purely Microsoft thing.
I also HATE this feature. It is TERRIBLE and totally BREAKS my workflow. I have a HUGE screen, and am used to running several applications side by side. Now, everytime I barely touch one, it inflates and blocks out all others. THANKS SO MUCH
Thank you. That was driving me bonkers! Why do Apple updates continue to default to automatic on new "features" no one has asked for and many do not want?
Thank god. This has been driving me insane with windows popping about and resizing at will. Sometimes new stuff added to updates is there just because its new and not in any way useful.
Thanks for posting this video, this resizing was so annoying. It was one of the typical stupidities they added just in order to present some new feature in their OS.
The good point is that it is possible to disable this "Drag windows". The feature itself might be useful for some people. Note depending on the version / patch level, there is an additional option. - Drag Windows to screen edges to tile - Drag Windows to menu bar to fill the screen
Thanks for pointing that out, looks like they changed the options with the update. Under Desktop & Dock in your System Settings, you now have "Drag windows to screen edges to tile" and another one for "Drag windows to menu bar to fill screen". Nice that they separated the two, but I'm still leaving both disabled.
THANK YOU! I didn't realise this was a feature, I thought it was some bug with my system. Googled and found your video. How the hell would they ever think that someone wanted this feature?! Why on earth when someone was trying to drag a window across the screen would they want it to suddenly expand, when there are buttons and corners to drag for that?
I know a lot of Windows-folks love this so I’m glad they added it to macOS. Old dogs like myself just can’t adapt to new stuff and it can be frustrating when windows are bouncing all over the place when you don’t want that.
@@quick-tutorials Hey, I have an update! I updated my Mac, and it’s back to resizing windows again. To stop it, I went to the same “Desktop & Dock” settings, but Apple has changed the name of this option to “Drag windows to menu bar to fill screen.” They’ve also added a new feature called “Drag windows to screen edges to tile,” and I absolutely hate all of these functions! Just wanted to give you a heads-up about this.
@@4rweb I noticed that too, the options slightly changed with the recent update. It's nice that they split it up into two different functions, but personally I'd rather leave both of them off.
Thank youuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God, what an awful, ugly universe it was becoming, with this utterly godawaful "feature" ugh ugh ugh - and of course, searching for the answer only gives us irrelevant AI. You made my day!!! I owe you !!!!
Glad to help. I know some people love that feature but personally I don’t see the value. I like manually positioning my windows and based on the comments here I’m not alone.
Ok, Team! I got it figured out I think! The wording on mine is: "Drag windows to screen edges to tile." Below that I've got: "Drag windows to menu bar to fill screen" "Hold (weird symbol on option) key while dragging windows to tile" "Tiled windows have margins" -- i'm not sure what this means, but i thought that's what i should click the first go-round, so i did, but it didn't work. now it's off just like what you taught us. the other 2 are on. thank you! and "monstrosity" -- 🤣-- great word!
Thank you!!! I just upgraded and I was losing my mind. Apple needs Elon's Department of Government Efficiency to clean up the mess that the Apple OS has become.
Keep coming back to this (very useful) 52 second video to hear the hilariously matter-of-fact "That's gonna be a no for me, Dawg." Really, really funny.

omg THANK YOU for doing the lord's work! lol I hate this automatic resizing with a passion!
Thank you - this was driving me crazy! Why do tech companies keep stuffing up perfectly good UIs?

Whoa, that option-key trick is actually amazing. Thanks for the tip!
Dude! Thank you so much! That feature is so irritating.
Thank you. This has been making me nuts.
Thank you! That was driving me bonkers! 🙂
Thank you, short and sweet. It's been driving me nuts for weeks. And I found another setting that was bugging me.
Awesome, glad you got everything dialed to your liking.
Thanks - this was driving me mad!

THANK YOU!!! This has been driving me nuts and you kept the solution short and sweet! 🤩
Thanks...quick, correct and to the point...love it
THANK YOU that has been driving me nuts for days
Same. First thing I turned off.
Thank you. This is a stupid default function; I loved being able to turn it off. Apple had lost their mind thinking this was somehow a benefit to its users I thought this kind of thinking was a purely Microsoft thing.
Agreed. It's nice to have the option for those who miss it from Windows, but if I'm on the macOS team, I would've left this disabled by default.
A big thanks. I hate this "feature".
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I absolutely hate this feature too!
🤝 glad I’m not the only one.
thanks for the video.. ❤❤. This new feature has been driving me NUTS... and just with one click it is gone at last... i hated it
Glad to hear the video was helpful. No more windows jumping all over the place.
I also HATE this feature. It is TERRIBLE and totally BREAKS my workflow. I have a HUGE screen, and am used to running several applications side by side. Now, everytime I barely touch one, it inflates and blocks out all others. THANKS SO MUCH
I feel your pain. No more windows bouncing all over the place.
THANK YOU!! What a time saver!!
I love this channel! Quick and to the point! Thank you!!
Thanks for the kind words! Too many long videos out there so trying to always keep it quick & simple.
Thank you very much for this short and very useful tip. Cheers

THANK YOU ! Love the commentary lol! It is a "monstrosity" l!!
Thank you for this great info! I'm not sure what in the world Apple was thinking making this atrocious change for us. SMH.
I tried it and it didn't work. How do I turn it off? I hate this function so much.
Pure Insanity! Thank you!
Horrible feature for power users and completely agree with you, thanks turned off permanently.
Thank you!! I was going to hell I swore so much because of this absurd feature!
Oh I've been there, glad you got it disabled. No more swearing for both of us 🤝
@@quick-tutorials it was especially unnerving on smaller screen laptops as the feature would kick in more often! Thank you again! Subscription earned!
Thank You, but you only showed one of the options that was already off. I had to turn off all of the features.
Thanks for posting this video, this resizing was so annoying. It was one of the typical stupidities they added just in order to present some new feature in their OS.
After about a week of getting annoyed by it, I realized I can't be the only one who's frustrated by this. Glad the video helped you.

I updated my OS to 15.1, and I don't see "Tile by dragging windows to screen edges" in the options anymore.

Thanks so much, Piece of cake solution
Such an ANNOYING feature. THANK YOU!!!!!!
Thank you!
best thing to be brought in, missed it a lot from windows. idk why yall would like to remove this feature, absolute game changer

I thought I’d get used to it but a few days later I realized that nope, not getting used to it, and don’t even want to.
I almost threw my Macbook out the window... Thank you!!!

Agreed. It's a very effective way to annoy the users of your computers.
Thanks! That was getting very annoying
How dare it arrive on my computer with this hot mess switched on! I thought it was a glitch, not a feature.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Makes my head hurt...
god bless you
Nice

Same here! Very few apps I’d ever want full-screen on my 27” 5K display.
Hahaha I've never felt so understood by a video thanks
