4:49 ~ *Cosmic Shimmer Acrylic Glue.* Paper warp: slight overall bow.
6:25 ~ *Tesa Multi-Purpose Glue.* This adhesive dries very flat. Paper warp: slight bowing at ends.

13:38 ~ *Tonic Craft Tacky Glue.* Paper warp: significant bowing.
15:02 ~ *Art Glitter Glue.* Comes with a precision tip - you will need a needle stopper to keep the tip clear. Paper warp: slight overall bow.

Thank You ! I am in the U.S. and have only used Aleenes glue, I always wondered how the Art Glitter glue compared to it and was quite happy to learn in your video that it was actually better than Art Glitter glue. I don't like the nozzle on Aleenes so what I did was go to craft store and in the paint section found some bottles with tiny metal nibs on them and filled them with my aleenes glue! It works Wonderfully! Thank you for your videos, I love them so much and LEARN so much!!

Most informative. My favourite glue is Ranger Multi Media Matte because if it oozes out you don't see it when it's dry because it's not shiny. It's also very strong. Will even hold embellishments.

Hello Sam, thank you for this informative video. I absolutely love Collal All Purpose glue for mats and layers. I do use Collal tacky glue which I decant into precision tip glue bottles for adding all my embellishments. With tacky glue let it go for a few seconds to get it tacky. It will hold all your 3D items like buttons and bows!

Thank you so much for this comparison video. Really helpful tips. I like the Original high-tack glue and (with a bit of fuss) decant it into precision tip mini bottles for intricate bits. I couldn't understand why some of my cards warped.I glued fun foam between layers so used more of it and it warped both base card and panel on the top. I found it so frustrating. Now I know why. I only make cards and bits for family and friends but I still want the layers to lay flat! I really enjoy your videos you make such unique things. I like lots of the American you tube channels but it is nice to get information about shops I use here in the UK. I used your idea of the gardening crate. I made a sewing box and a tool box, I was so thrilled with them. They took me sooo long! Thanks again

Awesome glue comparison video. I still love my Art glitter glue. I have used it to hold my pressed wood organizers and over one year they are still rock solid. A very little goes a long way so I never get any warping when I use it. Oh just so you know the Aleen’s upside down bottles that stand up in cap. We get those here in Montreal too. They sell them at our Michaels. Not sure if it in all of Canada. But I was able to buy one at very inexpensive cost and I do love it as well.

Hey Sam....girl, you 'rocked' these product reviews on liquid glues! I can't express enough how much I appreciate this informative video. My number one 'pet peeve' with liquid glue is the warping, however, what I do love about it is the fact that when compared to dry adhesive, you have a little playtime to move things about for exact placement. I've searched Amazon (Canada) for the Collall AP Glue but unfortunately they don't have it. If there are any Canadians out there who have found a liquid adhesive that does not warp paper (or know of a Canadian online store where I can purchase the Collall), I'd love to hear from you. Thanks, so much, Sam!

Thank you for sharing - I learnt about some glues I hadn't heard of. The Collall is not available in this part of the world. I think another issue with glue is the temperature - here in HK it is humid, so that can affect the glue - I know the humidity has affected some of my double sided tapes, rendering them non-sticky. I do like and use the Tonic Glue that you didn't review. I also like the Tombow but have not been using it much lately in preference for the others.(don't like that it is such a small bottle for the cost) - there is a larger bottle available, but it is hard to get. I also use the Simon Says Stamp glue and also bought the Aleenes (I like this one too) and the Art Glitter to try. With the Tombow, the Tonic and the SSS glues, they are white glues and they get gloopy for want of a better term and this makes it hard to push out of the bottle so definitely not good for anyone who has issues with strength in their hands. The Tonic is especially bad in this way - using the pin and cleaning the hole doesn't always work. I decanted it and the SSS into a smaller bottle, but that is even worse and I am squeezing so hard I think any harder and I will break the plastic bottle and spray the glue everywhere, so it just sits tip down. It is great exercise for the hands though I suppose. With the Art Glitter, it is also reactive to extreme temperatures - so much so that they won't ship it in the winter, so that is also something to consider, as is where you store it if you live in a place that gets cold. You certainly don't want your glue to freeze on you!!

Good review Sam. I'm a glue snob lol, yes Collall is really good, I always use it when making albums from chipboard, the papers just lay flat against the board, so smooth. I've tried Tombow, I do like it but yes I get annoyed with it lol. I'm using Art glitter glue the last couple of months, I do like because it's strong and quick drying but I don't use it on a large space, I don't get on with Anita's glue or the Tonic tacky. They do warp and leave bumps. I'm using a glue from the company called Mountain Ash at the moment. It's a tacky glue, it's not quick drying like the glitter glue but seems to work ok on large areas but I'm still trialing it. But I would have to agree that Collall is the best. Xx

This is really great, especially as it's UK based. Thank you! I have been struggling with wet glues for ages. They always seem to dry up in the tip, and the bottles are too hard to squeeze, and I can't get a thin enough line. I was looking at Collall All-Purpose and thought it looked good, so it's great to hear such a good review of it from you. I am making albums and hope that it would be strong enough for this. I use double-sided tape combined with glue stick (gives you some wiggle time) for matting and layering but this isn't strong enough for construction or where there's any strain on the join.
For collage work I use either gel medium or a high-quality glue stick. I recently acquired a colour laser printer which is going to help a lot - inkjet will run if you use a water-based glue or medium on it. Gel medium also seems to react with the ink and make it change colour. The Collall All-Purpose would probably be good in that situation.
This is such a great review - could you also show us which glues are best for construction and collage work? There's so much more than matting and layering involved in our creative work!

@@MixedUpCraft Thanks so much for your reply, Sam. I'm definitely going to try the Collall. My "upside down" Aileen's tacky glue arrived today. Again, a really excellent review, and very timely for me! Thanks again.

      @ShoshiPlatypus ปีที่แล้ว

@@MixedUpCraft Update on my glue situation. Thanks to your fabulous review of the glues, and your recommendation, I am now a complete convert to the Collal glue! I bought a couple of fine line glue bottles from the USA (with the pin in the lid that keeps the fine nozzle clear) - they took ages to come so it was a while before I got going. My glueing life has been totally revolutionised! I have struggled with glues for years and find most bottles too hard to squeeze and the nozzles are too thick. The Collal bottle does have a very wide nozzle but the glue is runny enough to go in a fine tipped bottle and I can't believe how easy it is. I'm now glueing like a pro!
I love how it doesn't buckle the paper, and it will stick anything! I am using it to stick fabric and fibres as well as paper and it's brilliant in every way.
One thing I love about the Collal is that if you get any squeezing out the sides, you can rub it away while it's still wet and it just balls up and comes away leaving no mark. The only slight drawback is the smell but I've really got used to this now, so it's not a problem.
Thank you soooo much again for this review - you have comletely solved a seriously ongoing and horrible struggle I've had for years with glue!!

Thanks for all your great tutorials (my most watched & saved!😉) I stopped looking for glued when I started using my Art Glitter Glue. I’ve never had a warping issue with it because it dries so fast. I prefer my glues, including the Art Glitter, in the small, inexpensive needle nose bottles available from EBay & AE. Even the Art Glitter precision tip isn’t small enough for me, & with the bottles that I use, they have the attached rubber lid, so I don’t have to use a pin. I don’t like Tombow because it dries tacky - defeats my purpose lol! Thanks for a great review!

Great comparisons! I worked in a US fabric/craft chain for ten years and my understanding of tacky glues is simply that there is less water in the formulation so it grabs and dries more quickly. It seems that Collal is not so easy to get in the US but I've seen a box/album maker on YT (sorry, don't remember which one) who uses Fabri-Tac with no warping and it's available at fabric/craft stores. Be advised that you may have to provide ID (over 18) to buy it, depending on where you live.

Thank you for your information on glues.
I think I have tried so many glues, one seems to work for a while then!!
Don’t know if the change when they "age" but I am sure something happens.
For Box Making I use "strong" DST with a small amount of liquid glue to give a little wiggle room.
I don’t think I will ever find the "perfect" glue.
They all have their place, it’s getting the right one for the job on the day you need it.
You do a such a lot to help us ... Thank You 😊

I use Anita's tacky glue. Although it does get clogged I haven't found too much warping because I use it sparingly. I also use Sailor 2 in 1 glue pen for precision sticking or tiny gems. I think I need to buy those precision nibs for the extra fine delivery. I also have used Collall photo glue which is good. Thanks for the glue test.

Absolutely fantastic review Sam! Helped me immensely. I can easily get Collal glue locally and at a good price. Up until now the only reason I didn't want to try it was because it's solvent based. This made me wonder if it was archival or not. I know it's acid free but can't get the info on archival part, may be that's the same thing.
I use Anita glue atm and my tip is finer than yours. I don't have to use it a lot so my card doesn't warp.
I have a few stamps which have lost their tackyness. I think putting a thin layer of tombow glue on the back and letting it dry will help with it :)
Will you please do a similar review on coloured cardstock, specially black? Being here in Ireland I for some reaon find it difficult to get (smooth) black cardstock at a reasonable price.
    Thanks for sharing Sam. :)

Hi Sam, thank you so much for this video, it has certainly been and huge eye opener for me, especially with the tombow glue. I have had loads of bottle of that over the years from Stampin up, and I just watched what you said about it now, where you took off the base ........ I never ever knew that about Tombow!!!!!! The times I have struggled ..... hahahahaha, do I ever feel silly now!¬ I just grabbed an old bottle I still have here and yes, there it was!!! To top it all, I had just stopped at this point to show my son, and then I noticed on the label ..... at the top it says fine tip, and at the bottom ..... yes .... yes .... it says BROAD TIP!
Having said that, I agree with you .... collall IS the best ..... apart from the smell!! my 2nd favourite it the Cosmic Shimmer Acrylic Glue. I have tried quite a few of those that you demonstrated, but only 3 I keep going back to and the 3rd one is .... Tombow!!!! As daft as I feel! lol! xx

Hi Sam. I have been watching your tutorials a lot lately. I LOVE all your card and box designs and find you very easy to follow. In Canada we can not get Collall glue. I use a book binding glue for my cards and boxes. You always talk about Collall glue and how strong it makes your boxes. What is in it that makes it so strong? I really don’t like the price we have to pay for Art Glitter. Do you think that book binding glue is strong? It is a PVA glue. Your advise would surely be appreciated. Thank you Cheryl 🇨🇦

Hello Cheryl. Book binding glue is good , but it is heavily water based and will warp your cards . I use Collall all purpose which is a construction glue and is solvent based and does not contain any water. and it dries very hard , making it great for Papercraft. You could also try Beacon 3 in 1 which is similar to Collall glue. Hope this helps you .😊
