Patrick, greetings from Brazil, I just want to let you know that your content has helped me A LOT to understand more about DaVinci Resolve, thank you so much!
Amazing Video!! I Have just been recently learning davinci to start my own channel and your content has really been helping me to understand what I'm doing! I also have NO PROBLEM without the face cam, but if you felt the need for a face cam an intro/outro could be fine. I don't think it's needed though! Thank you for all the help!!!
I typically do a 7 or 8 frames (if using 60 fps) lead cut before the impact on the video. That way, the viewer has just enough time to process the change in scenery and also have the anticipation of the hammer hitting Or, if the music has like a faster tempo, cut on one beat, then the impact action on the next beat, then cut again to the next beat
Would love to see this technique with shooter games. I have tried the best I could but would love to see a professional way of doing it with an fps. Love the vid.
I do enjoy the face came it makes it gets you more connected with your audience and is typically more interesting to watch but I think it wouldn’t be a bad idea to throw in short helpful videos like this every once and awhile that are in This quick format without a webcam, also wanted to say you’re super underrated for some reason and deserve more views and subs then you have
The short form video without the facecam is better because we can focus more on the content you are showing us and can pay more attention to what you're doing in the video. Makes it easier to retain the info later for some folks.
Thanks Patrick! I was actually thinking of making a (kills) montage for Warzone to a beat, and was wondering how to easily sync the beats and clips up... And there we go :D Great content, especially for novice editors (like myself).
Premiere from way back even before the PAY to Play Pro series Premiere had a similar thing where you set all your markers to the beat with the 'M' Key or may be some other key, Don't remember. Any way then you would mark all your stills, Clips in a folder or bin then click on 'Animate to Timeline' and it would automatically place the stills or clips at the markers trim them to length and if you set up a transition it would place that transition at each marker. That's one of the features That Premiere had that I really miss. Made lots of slide shows with it. Thanks for the grate Tutorial I had forgotten all about Editing to the BEAT.
It seems like there should be a way to automatically either set the markers based on the sound wave or to drop and stretch/squish the clips to the markers. Those are the kinds of tedious tasks that computers are made for.
Thanks for the tip! I was hoping to find something similar that my friend Gael did with Adobe Premiere, but if it's gonna be done manually on DaVinci, then that's what we gotta do 😅
Got an unrelated question: I recently updated to DR 17.1.1 Build 9 & know I have a lot of old unfinished Projects in a DR 16.2 Database and need to transfer some of them into the new DR 17 Database. When I try to switch databases my DR16 timeline of the loaded project goes empty. How can I transfer projects to the new database?
This is really inspiring. Thank you so much! 💖 Got a question: A while ago i mage a fan video for a game i like. I was learning some transition styles, and creating a visual effect controlled by the music beats (Pulsating logo based on the beats) It was made with a davinci resolve fairlight plugin (sadly i cant remember what the name of it was) My question is. Would it be possible to automatically get generated marker positions of the song beats in DaVinci Resolve? In the second comment im linking the video im talking about. Hopefully you can watch it for a minute. The link is probably shadow banned by TH-cam.
Best resolve TH-cam, I swear!

Great video. I was hoping for a way to have Resolve automatically set markers to the beat or something, but this will work.
Would love to see this technique with shooter games. I have tried the best I could but would love to see a professional way of doing it with an fps. Love the vid.

Super useful, thank you!
Inspiration. I'll definitely try this in one of my next videos! Let me know how it went with no cam.

Quick tip you dont only have to mark the timeline you can mark the audio and the video and do it like that just click on the media then hit M
cool
Very helpful! Thanks

Hi Patrick! Your video looks sharp. Can you pls share your export settings for TH-cam? Thanks!
just check his earlier videos, he just shared them couple of weeks ago.
For youtube I've started just using the 4k h.265 youtube preset

literally that's like playing osu but inside davinci,ur always making the boring stuffs fun xD
This was suppppeeerr niceee

Love it
Thank you
Wouldn't it be good with auto analyze of a music tracks to get markers?

I'm perfectly fine with no face cam. Unless it's relevant to something you're teaching, save yourself the energy.
