  • Another great installment to the PSR-E series from Yamaha. The PSR-E433 gives us 700+ sounds, made infinite with the filter knobs which are massively entertaining in their own right. It doesn't have all the effects or the sampling capabilities of the very highest model, but this is a home keyboard that still opens a world of creative possibilities.

    I love the sounds on this thing, lots of vintage type samples which 10 years ago would have been cheesy but now is really sought after by lots of alt musicians. I've had mine since prolly 2013 or so and it has never failed me.

    If you use the “ASSIGN” button (to the left of the live control knobs) set to “4” (STYLE FILTER), you can apply cutoff and resonance to the styles and patterns.

    3 days ago, after 8 years of great service my Yamaha PSR E433 stopped working. I owe this keyboard a lot, this is what i started with. I remember i was in 8th grade when my parents gave me this keyboard and it was like a whole world to discover: i had a lot of riffs in my head that i wish i could play so i started watching tutorials on youtube trying to improve day by day. Never had a teacher so i learned all by my own. Now i'm 20 and all I can say is... man... that has been a long journey. Looking for the upgrade now.

    I bought this keyboard around Christmas 2013. And 7 years later, this keyboard is still amazing and working like a champion. For it's entry level model and price, I am really surprised Yamaha could produced such a high quality keyboard. And if I am bored with the 700+ Sounds, i could just make it as a MIDI keyboard, connect it to my PC via Scarlett Focusrite 2i2 and play VST sounds on Ableton or FL Studio (the VST sounds wont come out from the keyboard speaker, but rather PC monitor speaker).

      Great to hear. Yes this whole PSR-E series is a real credit to Yamaha, it'll be interesting to see where they go from here.

    I just got one from goodwill for 100 bucks. It’s great. I had both of the djx models and this one beats them both. The two filter knobs help shape tones. I wish it had traditional midi ports. I have yet to try the usb connections. I used it with the boss rc-202 looper and it was perfect. Can’t wait to see your video on this keyboard!

      THat's the only video I have for the 433 at this time. I'm glad you liked it, and for $100?? Bargain right there!

    Just bought E433 yesterday for only 5,000php. That's around almost $100. I sold my psr330 because of this one, and after playing it, damn! I feel like a pro.

      Yeah it's a great board. Try adding a delay pedal, it's adds a whole new dimension :)

    I have this model too! But I am just a beginner and am looking for more tutorials on how to use the functiions. eg. Assign, the attack button, spilt and dual sound, and how to change the style pattern in the middle of the song immediately, how to record different tracks as layering etc.

      If you watch this video (even though it's for the 463), the procedure is basically the same: th-cam.com/video/dBLApEoRTU8/w-d-xo.html

    Hi Glynn, this is a lovely video on a lovely keyboard. I especially like the part about the arpeggios. At the point you’ve reached, I think you could easily teach people on how they can use their keyboards because you’ve got a way to twist their functionalities to get really creative with them.
    The PSR E433 is the one I liked most and, stupidly, I resold it twice, I was probably out of my mind 🤪. I think I will buy one a third time. It has less features but a better keybed and build quality than its siblings the E453 and 463.
    I am curious about the forthcoming E373 with its SA Lite voices... wondering what this is all about. Usually, the new features in the E2xx and E3xx make their way up to the E4xx series, so hopefully we’ll have new sounds and new features there in the foreseeable future.
    Cheers, looking forward to your next keyboard video 👍😎

      As always, I agree with every line there. I reviewed the PSR-E273 and frankly I felt underwhelmed, like I was reviewing any other generic keyboard from Casio or Yamaha (However to be fair, the keybed was re-designed and felt very good, I forgot to mention that in the review). But as you say, it'll build up to higher models and I'm hoping there'll eventually be a Yamaha PSR-E473.

    I bought The PSR E433 about 100$ last week.. i think this keyboard much better on build quality and keybed than 453 or 463

      Yep, and you are not alone in that opinion my friend.

      Cant agree more on the subject of build quality and keybed. It’s a shame the E463 doesn’t have this high-quality keybed it would have been a killer keyboard. I strongly hope that the forthcoming E473 will have a nice keybed again.

    Hi,
    Is it possible to download new voices into this Keyboard via USB and musicsoft downloader? I am looking to add more voices under the "World" category that includes harmonica etc.

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, you can't add new sounds on this model.

    Hi,do you know what’s the difference from the psr e433 to the psr e443?
    I love the sound quality of the e443,but can’t find that keyboard on sale right now anywhere online,so I wanted to get the e433 model instead because of that,I read online,that they are exactly the same,just that the input jack was different.

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes they are indeed 99% the same. I actually like the button layout of the 433 a bit better.

    I have a question.
    I posted a video playing the Yamaha PSR E443 but I got a notice of copyright violation.
    Now I see hundreds of videos with piano players playing other musicians music.
    How can I fix it.
    I never claim I song as my own I'm clearly playing alone with the song.
    I'm i missing something?
    Can you give me advice.

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm afraid it's more-or-less a scam that some people/organizations do. People claiming they 'wrote' music that is actually preset styles on keyboards. All I can suggest is submit an argument against the claim (might as well have a shot at it!) but they usually get what they want - a tiny slice of your TH-cam earnings. Here's what I did: th-cam.com/video/jzZoveBoX_A/w-d-xo.html

    Can you tell me what's the difference between this and E463?

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The main difference is sampling. The 463 can keep 6 samples in memory at any time, 9 seconds each.
