How can you see all of this and still pay attention to where the car is going? This is by far the hardest skill to pick up as a learner 🤯

Experience, experience, experience. And it’s the exact reason why newly qualified drivers pay a premium for the first few years after passing due to the lack of planning ability. I promise you’ll get to that point but it takes time. Also, when I train police or private security officers, commentary driving (talking while driving like you saw me do in this video) is the most common reason for them failing.

This was quite useful thank you! It’s crazy how the mind has to be so active and think the whole time while driving!! … great commentary video

Thank you. It was an interesting video to put together, but I wish my editing software was better. Glad to hear it’s helped and feel free to ask any questions you may have. 😀👍

This is the best. Keep talking tp yourself while driving very hard for beginners but it is doable. Thank you🙏🙏

Love your videos, do you still do mock tests at Borehamwood test centre?

Great video very well done however I do have couple of points I wanted to mentioned. when you were driving on the one lane road and you approached the first round about at 5min into the video why didn’t you stay on the left Lane ? Because by the time you approached the second round about around 5:15 into the video you turned left and while I agree that the roundabout markings (if it had any) were faded wouldn’t be the safest course was to be on the left Lane as you’re turning into the second round about rather than continuing to the right ? I’m thinking about it in the sense if there were to be an accident or someone drove fast on your left technically doesn’t he get priority ? Given he’s in the left Lane or left side that can only turn left and especially given the second round about exists into 1 Lane from two lanes ?

It’s a great question and you do have good points. To help you see the roundabouts, the postcode N11 3DT.
Rule 186 in the Highway Code mentions “choose the appropriate lane”. And due to me needing to take the second exit on the second roundabouty thing (technical term lol), the right lane is more appropriate. And as you saw, mirrors are incredibly important to know what’s on your nearside. If there was someone approaching, I might have moved to the left to block their position if I had time (Take space to Make space), or complete another lap. Regarding insurance, it would likely go down as knock for knock as there isn’t any Chapter 5 (road markings) to dictate priority. I hope that makes sense and I’d be happy to help more if you need.

@@Crimsontears95 phewww. Even I was having to read it 3 times before posting 😂. Thank you for the question and for watching. I’m trying to put a video up specifically on roundabouts at the moment but struggling to find the time to complete it.

@@learntodrivetheeasyway that would be very helpful given the amount of round abouts we have here snd they come in sorts of variations especially the ploughman’s round about or David’s star. Myself and my sister are big fans of yours I’m going out with my sister as she’s recently passed her exam and gotten a car so I’m helping her practice driving we live local too so I know the area were you’ve been and recognised the roundabout and the BP petrol station XD

@@learntodrivetheeasyway I found it helpful to see and hear the thought process of an experience driver as someone who is a novice and still learning. As someone to struggles with locking onto one thing, its clear that in order to be a good driver I have to look at many different things. Seeing how you handle and tackle complex junctions e.g roundabouts and things like meeting situations is helpful (ur video on meeting situations was extremely helpful). I like the formate of the video, the only thing I would add is a rear view dashcam, but its not necessary, I think the video is great.

@@1024sofia thank you so much and it’s great to have that feedback. Do you feel that the rear dash cam would help for mock tests too, or just for commentary driving? Thanks again. 😀👍

@@learntodrivetheeasyway definitely will help with mock tests as I know many drivers like to push and intimidate learners from behind, and it would be interesting to see how other learners deal with it. I do find in many videos and with driving a lot happens in the mirror behind and on rear view dash cams ☺️

@@1024sofia sounds like a great shout. I’ll arrange for that in future videos and your point is certainly valid. Depending on what going on behind, shapes the way you must drive and adapt to scenarios to stay safe.
