    I once bought a Mr. Gold for $50. The description said it was genuine and the photos were definitely of a real Mr. Gold. When I got it, it turned out to be a definite fake. The printing on the torso and head came off very quickly and the paint got under my fingernails. In hindsight, I never should have thought a real Mr. Gold would go for that low.

      I once bought a bunch of lego gold coin pieces online for a too good to be true price, and when I got them, I immediately knew they were fake the first I saw them. ( the words lego that were supposed to be printed on one side of the coin were missing)

      When I searched for Mr Gold on the Internet several years ago, many offers about 600€ and more popped out. But one of them caught my eyes: 5€.
      By this point of time, I was about 9 or 10 years old probably (don't remember) but I still came to the conclusion, that this figure must be fake.

    If you look on the side of a Lego box, it says some of the parts of the product are made in China. Lego shops are also in China. Doubtful Lego themselves would ship from China to another country, as they keep it regional in China's case, but my main point is it's not a given that Lego sets from China are fake.

    Nice, comprehensive list!
    So, fake LEGO (i.e., Lepin) and non-LEGO (i.e., Megabloks) are two different things, the former coming from a rip-off company and the latter coming from a genuine, legitimate manufacturer!
    P.S. Why do you think the video showing bricks melting has disappeared from the web?

  • @n.d.4317
    @n.d.4317 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    A lot of exagerated statements. Are you trying to inform or scare people??
    1.Illegal, you have to understand the different laws in different countries and the most important part is to tell in which specific case it is or would be illegal. By using fake lego its not clear what you're refering to. Any company that isnt Lego could go under that line.
    2.Their plastic, depending on which company we're talking about should be the same, this goes for a lot of legit brands too. Almost no copy of minifig will break in your hands (never heard of any). The minifigs are one of the biggest problem because for many its hard to tell if its fake or not especially if you don't have a copy of the real.
    4 looks accurate.
    5 Lego uses big boxes for their sets. It is common for sellers to include one only when asked to because of the extra shipping cost (also the used set that no longer have the box).
    6 If you get some residue on your hands after touching bricks (no mater which brand) I'd seriously ask questions too but I never heard or seen something like that. The colours and finish CAN be different(not will) from the real. The quality nowhere near... what you will notice is that its missing the lego on the studs and its what people should look at first. The quality is close enough that a lot of people would never notice it.
    Number 7, nothing to say about that.
    Point 8 is also great.
    9. Always learn about import laws in your country no matter what you're trying to import. There are also safe ways to import these.
    10. Lego does have great quality control and will replace every missing part. Keep in mind that missing parts in other brands especially the fakes will most of the time be caused by the seller and not the brand itself. Even if you buy Lego pieces, any third party seller can make mistakes and it happens very often.
    You don't have to be scared to buy online. My recommendations would be to double check every minifigure and simply look at the lego logo on the other pieces and if you have doubts make sure that the website offers refounds.
    Please take this comment as constructive criticism. I felt like it was misleading and I tried not to name any brand by respect to the channel.

    I personally have never bought a lepin set so I don’t really know the difference, but seems ur explanation is good. Just a suggestion, this is the type of video u need to make, better than those hater comments video. Not saying hater videos are bad, but if u really wanna convince others, show good arguments like this in lepin comments video instead of making fun and fighting haters, that just gonna generate even more hate. And I find these type videos more informative, the last lepin comments video I find lack of information that at least convince people not to buy lepin

  • @aaronpenrose

    Although I do love Lego and it is FAR better then any other brick building company, you must admit the price of Lego is out of many people’s budget. I’m just a kid who wants to reenact Star Wars battles, and it’s hard to do so when Lego is so expensive and I only get 100 dollars a year for birthday. In my opinion, I buy fake legos for their price. But I think Legos are awesome.

    • @darthbane2669
      @darthbane2669 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Damn boy I never got that much for my birthday.
      You are wasting your money on those fake sets, I know I have bought several and they do not come close to the build experience, quality and sense of satisfaction when buying the real thing.
      Just save your money and buy the real thing.

    • @amyanmarcitizen7030
      @amyanmarcitizen7030 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know right. +Darth Bane I totally agree with you too but it is just out of my budget. Mark my words, if I get a good job that pays well, I'm going to buy only the real thing. I don't care that the set says for ages 8-12. I'm going to play with Lego even as a full grown adult.

    • @leozero_
      @leozero_ 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      What's the point of buying real lego when it's more expensive & you don't care about the brand or value? If you just want it for some fun there is no harm in that.

  • @Ohne_Silikone
    @Ohne_Silikone 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I am not a fake lego fan, but Lego lost its way as well. Sets get more expensive while quality gets less. I have quite a lot of parts getting hairline fractures after one time use (2014), colours are off in some parts (2020). I even got a mangled part as well. I don’t endorse blatant copyright infringement, but Lego does not own the building system. They didn’t invent the studded brick themselves. I am perfectly fine with some brick building systems coming up with original parts and models and ‘lending’ standard parts from the Lego design. I don’t like how Lego screws small specialised Lego stores by power playing on them, while favouring the big concerns.

    I have to agree. I decided to buy some fakes. Bad idea. On the "minifigures" one of the arms was screwed on backwards (actually they don't even screw it on for you, but they gave me two identical right arms, and no left arms) The quality also seemed terrible, especially the print. I will only be buying from lego from now on.

    I've bought thousands of sets over my life and have had quite a few of them with missing parts and defective parts. I contact Lego customer service and get the replacement parts.I've had sets with 2 of the same door, I've had a set with defective windows, I've had a Star Wars set with a melted R2D2 head and the Spiderman Bridge Battle with 2 sets of leg for green goblin and no torso. I've had other sets missing parts. Lego is far from perfect but I agree that the knock offs are inferior to Lego. I've never bought fake Lego myself but have tried to build it for my nephews and some of the bricks are so poorly made they won't even stick together.

It's weird because the packaging didn't have the set or part numbers on the front, was white cardboard instead of brown and the plastic bags were resealed. used lego toys are the way to go. very reasonable prices especially if they are not limited edition or licensed products. no need to go to fakes. remember you can just buy stars wars or harry potter stickers online and paste them yourself on the bricks. that's the genius way to "license" a product at a bargain basement price. i did that with a $10 lego red racer car after putting some porsche stickers on it. the racer car is this (lego actually modeled it off the porsche if you notice the lights, hood, and overall shape/curves including spoiler): images.brickset.com/sets/images/31055-1.jpg?201611300919

    I got a fake lego ship from online by accident and didn't realize that it was fake lego until I looked at where the lego symbol should be on the pegs. Of course that was a week after I had gotten the legos and I had already mixed them with real legos.
    It's come to a point that I have so much fake lego that I don't really care if I get more. Although, the fake lego really hurts to put together and take apart. Took my hands weeks to heal.
    Also I was confused when he started talking about fake lego having instructions. I didn't even get instructions when I ordered my "lego" ship. I just built it my own way. Surprisingly it actually looks really cool. Still don't like that it has fake lego in it though.

    So, lets say you have a $100 LEGO set new that you can typically find secondhand for $80. If you find it for $20, he's saying that it is probably a fake. OK great, but what happens when these companies start sellign the fakes for ~$80?

    • @juliusbreuer5329

      It means that the factory where these bricks are produced is located in china. I suppose the development process like designing LEGO models and minifigures and the marketing still takes place in Denmark.
      Companies like LEPIN are of course also located in china, but they are completely different companies and have absolutely nothing to do with LEGO.
      That's the difference.

    I dont support the fake Lego companys that just copy an already existing set. But i think companys like Oxford with the Titanic and such, have thier right to exist.
    Lego is clearly overpriced. Some sets are rediculous expensive for not a lot of parts. They clearly use thier monopol to get as much money as possible.
    While i think its not ok to buy current fake Lego sets, i think it is fine to buy set copys that are no longer available. There are so many cool old sets that are just so expensive for no good reason. 1000 € for a Star Destroyer. Just why. If Lego dont want people to copy thier shit, give me options to buy it for a reasonable price. Who cares about collectors. Man Lego is for playing and if a kid wants a Star Destroyer because its the only cool Empire Ship then give it to them.

      Well lego is rather pricy but you are getting quality product. It's not for people making poverty level of income.
      I get what your saying but it's really not worth the cheap price, because the build experience sucks and you are getting crappy quality bricks, I know from experience it's just not worth it.
      For example the ucs star destroyer I was building almost a week ago...the magnets were too strong and when I had to use a tool to pry them apart from each other the clips ont he ends of hte magnets all broke very easily. I threw everything away.
      The only lepin set I actually like is my ssd it turned out pretty good and it looks amazing but If I could get the lego one for at least the original price that they sold it for I would.
      I havent bought anything on ebay in years because at one time products were sold for cheaper than brand new but now it's the other way around.

    • @amyanmarcitizen7030
      @amyanmarcitizen7030 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The reason Lego sets are expensive is because Lego designed the sets and use quality material. Other fake Lego brands are cheap because they did not have to design the sets and their material is rather shitty.

    • @hazoish7670
      @hazoish7670 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      FullPerfektionist I don’t consider “LEGO” with another brand name is fake, I consider them as copy cats as they copied LEGO once the LEGO brick Patton expired so company’s started flooding in with cheaper and the same bricks.
