M15 brought in a fish and was followed into the nest by an intruder. He protected his E's and he mantled his fish keeping the intruder at bay. She ultimately went to the veranda and waited while M15 started to feed both E's. The intruder came back down to the nest and pushed M15 off and started to eat the fish - also warning away both E's. She flew off after she was finished with no harm to either of the E's. M15 was seen on the U branch waiting and watching her. M15 avoided a confrontation with the intruder when he got pushed off the nest and did not return to avoid risk of injury to himself or the eaglets. He realized the intruder was simply after the fish so he let her eat it. Eagles will pick their fights to avoid confrontation to avoid injury whenever possible. It was a smart thing for M15 to do at this time & he was able to return with a fish and more prey later in the day & feed both E's. We don't have all the answers right now and we may not know them all even when the season is over - it is a learning experience for all of us! Stay safe & strong M15 you have a lot on your plate right now protecting & feeding the E's and chasing off this intruder.
This was a very interesting interaction. I wasn’t quite sure what the intruder would think when M 15 vacated the nest to say this is a learning experience is an understatement. All we can do is watch and learn from nature thank you lady Hawk for all you do.

Do you think that she is unable to hunt because of the injury to her foot? She realizes M is a good provider. She hasn’t tried, thankfully to hurt the E’s . Perhaps she was one of Harriet’s babies with Ozzie and she knows the nest.
M15 providing for himself ( and another adult) and 2 eaglets...all the while dealing with perilous situations..he sure is a testament to why the eagle is a symbol of determination and courage.
As much as I would love to see one of the intruders eat E22, it doesn't change the fact that you are bang on. M15 is a legend. One of the most loyal, intelligent, capable male eagles I have ever seen. What he's been accomplishing of late just massively emphasizes how much of a power couple he and Harriet were. She was an absolute legend and M15 is right there with her (peace be upon her)!!!
Poor M15! It's not easy to feed two eaglets alone. He can't hunt for the female eagle, too!!! But how intelligent he is, not to risk an injury and how dedicated, coming with another fish! Such a great father!!!
I don’t see how he can get rid of her by himself. He seems to be trying everything he can just to feed and protect the E’s. I worry about her aggression. We are so privileged to be able to watch our eagles in real time and videos and I have watched many years. This is most difficult though,as we miss Harriet so much! M is Father of the Year. I’m terrified she will kill the babies she is already biting them while eating their food! I bet she killed Harriet. She’s flying in heaven with her mates and babies who are there waiting on these and M15 to join them.

@@tdowell8615 Male bald eagles don't usually fight w/females due the size difference; females are larger. He is being an intelligent bird here. IF he fought w/that female, he may end up severely injured, or worse, right? And then WHO would take care of their babies? ~Thankfully, so far, she has shown no sign of wanting to kill the eaglets and he knows this. Hence, why he has also left w/her right on their tree. Yes, she has kicked at them and pecked at them, but it's no different than what E21 has done to E22 over food. Hopefully, this continues re her not purposely harming the babes... ~~The danger here though, as Lady Hawk has pointed out = IF scuffles happen on the nest, there is always the chance of the babes getting injured or worse or getting shoved off nest, all quite by accident, but due the adults fighting on the nest. So you see now, why M didn't fly back to nest and fight?

I think she is getting more hungry. When she finished eating, you could even see her crop was full. Unusual for an adult. The armored catfish must be hard to eat because of all the leftovers all over the nest. She left very little behind.
I worry less about them now knowing M15 has brilliant instincts (i wish I could say thought processes/analytical skills but we know it is instinct) AND E21 was doing wingersizes!!! they will survive _keep good thoughts😍🙏🙏
Should be, this is not good, m15 has a much larger eagle that is preying on the nest, and he is too tired to do much about it. Now not only does he have to feed 2 growing eaglets but some B eagle that just kicked his ass.
I am really worried too!! If she continues to get easy meals here, she’s not ever going to leave!! M15 is amazing, no doubt about that! But he is already up against incredible odds, and this free loading intruder is making things so much worse. (And my apologies to those who may feel that I am being negative, but I am very concerned by this new dynamic.)
She is so bold... it's scary. M really looked worn out when he came back to the nest. I do believe she can hunt, as she had breakfast on the nest branch earlier. She's just way too interested in this nest. Hang in there M and E's!
It is just an opportunist, sees an easy meal, and is strong enough to take it. Had too laugh at all the luvy duvy comments before this and still continuing. Denile is not a river in Egypt.

The intruder is getting MUCH bolder. She is getting nasty!! Poor M - he is SO exhausted. This is now getting VERY VERY serious!! Lots of prayers - that nothing happens to our beloved Harriet's last babies!!♥♥
😢 This is progressively getting more brazen and worse and I thought after yesterday seeing the intruder getting a rabbit that she would now stop this behavior with the E's and the nest..... And the information about how this eagle even though she has a bum Talon it is healing… And she can… Hunt and fish for herself...... I wish conservation could jump in and do some thing about this because I am concerned..... at some point she's might kill the E's😢
I also wonder if that's why m15 didn't put up that big of a ruckus over the fish, perhaps he knows if she's fed she won't have any reason to hurt the eaglets.
The state and federal wildlife agencies have to approve intervention, and I don't think that will happen unless they are actually seriously injured. Sad, but it is the reality of how the system works.
If somehow the E's survive this, how will they manage when M-15 gets to the point where he brings food and drops it off? I mean that is the next step, but I'm afraid she will go after the food & fight the E's for it. Very scary watching this unfold.

This was such a scary situation. I saw it earlier. Not even sure what to say. So many people are still romanticizing the female’s presence, it just blows me away. I’m glad M didn’t get in a fight with the female but the more she takes advantage of this situation and gets away with it, the more likely this kind of aggression will become the norm while the eaglets are there. I’m fearful for M and his little ones.

'Saw this live and agree, YES it sure was scary and intense. My heart hurt when she shoved him off the nest. He had hauled in such a beautiful fish for his babies... Then the bravado of both eaglets - my goodness! I was yelling at them - no! stay back! no, no, no! 'As if they can hear me 🤣But yes, nothing funny about it all bec as you have shared before - VERY dangerous for this whole family when she insists on fighting all of them for food. Looks like E22 is getting an education from the fighting because I’ve noticed he is a lot braver and is standing up to e21, even snatching food out of e22 mouth lol.
I cried and am so sad for them. M strategically did what he had to do to prevent injuries to himself and the E''s. He can't get hurt and he knows it. The E's must be so confused. I pray the rails are able to keep the little ones in the nest if she tries to push them off or during a scuffle with M. Bless M's heart he's doing everything he possibly can do to avoid a major confrontation. I pray he can endure for himself and his babies. This is very sad! If she manages to push the eaglets off and they die, the gravy train she's enjoying right now will end-M will disappear and so will the food. The question is whether she's thought about that at all. It's not the kind of future-think we typically give animals credit for, but cameras have revealed some amazing things.

She gets bolder and bolder and has M giving up his hard earned food for the E's and retreating from the nest. I don't see anything good coming from any of this for the E's. Saddest thing is that even if she finally does kill one or both, she is claiming that nest. Once the eaglets are gone, one way or the other, I believe she will become M's next mate. This is life in the wild and it isn't always fair and beautiful. Once the E's are gone, she isn't leaving and M will forget what she did. Let's just pray that she is a great mother to her own.
Isn't it the female that will fight off intruding females and the males will fight off the intruding males? Perhaps that is why this intruding female seems to be prevailing. She is much larger than M15 to begin with. There would not be an issue if Harriet were around. She would never leave her nest and babies alone this long so we know she has either cross the rainbow bridge or is in the care of someone somewhere as Ozzie was before M15 arrived on the scene. I'm hoping and praying for a good outcome and that Harriet's good fortune in having a mate as fine as M15 befalls on M15 to have a good mate as well. Stay strong little ones...
This has been so upsetting to watching M dealing with intruders to protect his little family. I have never all the season I followed never been glued to my iPad or phone constantly checking this nest. Oh boy that is scary. Looks like she holds her wing out a bit is that the injury? Poor M he is pulling triple overtime. Praying so hard for them to be ok and this intruder doesn't attack them. She caught a rabbit on her own this morning and ate it in the nest tree. She's okay enough to hunt, kick and bite both adult eagles and their young. Truly injured eagles don't do all of that. Her scrapes on her talons are likely from this nonesense she's doing right now.
Poor little E22, that was a hard bite. 😢 at this point I am glad all 3 are okay. I don’t think the intruder will ever leave. Easy meals, a nest, and possibly a great potential mate (M15).
Thanks Lady Hawk for posting the clips. I put a brief description on your last video when it happened... "Well it appears that she has reverted back to psychopath. She just chased M back to the nest to go after the fish he was carrying. He then spread-eagled over the kids while hanging on to the fish. Then she pushed M out of the nest. He flew back in and stood on an upper branch. Daaaang it! Wish he'd of just tossed her the fish. He can always get another one. But, he didn't so it is what it is." And, she's back up in the tree even now as we speak. They had a good day yesterday, a peaceful night's rest and a perfectly calm morning & then this. It's up to him and his instincts to do whatever he's gonna do next. Trust the eagles.🦅💓🙏
Yikes! that was intense but M15 handled it well as always I think, now that we know she is not going to eat the Es, she just wants to be fed and get invited to dinner She is looking more and more like Eagle Dearest like the movie from the 1980s "Mommy Dearest" I just wish the nest positive vibes and hopefully she behaves better and nicer with each passing day.🥰 Hopefully M15 gets a good nights rest🥰
M knows what he is doing he knows what the rite thing to do is , the babies are learning well , M is a good provider excellent father all round he deserves a medal for all his hard work ❤love them all so much ❤
At the end, M15 was looking away from the nest as if he were trying to summon Harriet to return and help him take care of their eaglets. It is a huge job for a male eagle to succeed with an overly dominant female showing up frequently. Even with an injury, she can cause a lot of hurt to an adult eagle and the eaglets.
He's being smart, picking & choosing his battles! I'm curious to know if there's been a lot of other intruders in the area since she's been pretty glued to the nest tree lately. It wouldn't surprise me, if he sees her as a benefit to help to deter others... although probably annoyed, gives up a meal here & there, but has extra protection in his territory. Just a thought.
I'm pretty sure I saw 3 eagles in the tree she hangs at sometimes.. while M15 was in the nest they showed around and there were 3 big eagles! I was like 😬 it seems he does use her to keep others away... also to get a good night's sleep... I was appalled when I was watching live and she stole the fish.. what's a little weird to me is that she doesn't snatch and go, she eats there as if for safety from the others she can't fight.. I think she's waiting for them Es to fly away so she can slide right in with M15.. she wants him to feed her too but wants no parts of his babies.. I was thinking M was warming up to her but now I'm thinking his just playing it smart...
Also, that danged wayward stick jammed M15 in his right wing when he jumped and mantled. I knew it would cause harm eventually, either in a rushed landing or a dust up like today. I just cannot believe how things have progressed in just 2.5 weeks.
On the other hand, E22 is getting braver even dared to try grabbing the fish from the intruder!! Even he got his peck right away from the intruder and went submissive a bit, he walked a bit further and turned around to look at the intruder’s eating still… he must be real hungry still.
Just wish the lady eagle would find a new place to eat..and let m15 raise and provide for his babies...im still at an aww on how much he has done for the babies..so proud of him...we all love u m15 keep up the amazing work...

It’s practically impossible to catch an eagle unless they are grounded and can’t fly. She can hunt and her behavior is typical eagle behavior, they are opportunistic and driven to survive.
Thank you LH for the video. I only watched live the first half but didn't see the second half. This week, M shows us how intelligence he is. He did a smart move by not directly facing this female. He knows he can't get hurt! It's a very sad and hard situation but M handled it like a pro. He knows there's more fish in the pond and not worth getting injuries. Very smart move. He knows the Es are dependingon him. E22 also showed not wanting to back down but just too small. Continue to pray for their safety.
Very true, the more I watched it, the more I realise how wise is the Bible telling us to rise higher and soar like the eagles indeed! To know which fight is ours is so important indeed. It must be quite hot there indeed under the sun, everyone was panting there and being hungry. Well done M15! You teach me so much and reminds me of God’s words to rise higher indeed.
She certainly is making M15 and the eaglets adapt to her presence. I hope this period of nurture doesn't cause problems when these eagles mature and reproduce.
🫣 my heart was beating so fast I know my blood pressure went over the normal rate. I know these are wild animals and this stuff happens all day everyday all over the Amazon/forest/jungles however watching it especially when we are all invested and connected to these nest is really really difficult. Sometimes it’s better to not know then to know and watch. 💔 My heart breaks for M15. He is giving his ALL and sacrificing everything he has for his babies and territory. Lord please protect him 🙏🏼
In that case, it's best to not watch the cam and wait for Lady Hawk to put out a video. You would already know that they are still alive, for if they weren't, a ton of bad news would travel very fast, as the saying goes.
M15 is doing everything in his power to provide for and protect his eaglets. He’s not going to force a violent confrontation in the nest unless it’s absolutely necessary. She came for the food and he yielded it to her. She has no bond with the eaglets and warned them away and they also yielded. We have to trust M15 to do what’s best as he has done so magnificently thus far. It’s difficult emotionally to watch sometimes because we are invested in this precious family, but we are not eagles so we must accept that M15 has a mighty job to do and pray for his and the eaglets success.
Ladyhawk thank you for your comforting news that M15 and the babies are OK after this! I feel so worried about M he looks so rough especially around the head area… is this because he’s not getting enough time to take care of himself? I was worried he got wounded on the head. XxJennifer
She is interested in the food not on harming the eaglets. For the past week she stayed overnight at the nest with M15. Last night she arrived 10:15 and left in the morning, as well as the day before,after M15. She didn't displayed any signs of aggressiveness towards the eaglets. M15 is doing a superb job providing food and protection for the eaglets, the nest and himself👏👏👏👏 so far so good. TY Lady Hawk. I watched another video, half of this size, and it gave the impression that M15 was losing out to the intruder. This is why it’s important to watch where we get our information from and not to make insinuations. And more importantly, remember the best advice ever given… “TRUST THE EAGLES.” They know what they are doing, as our Amazing M15 is showing us time and time again. I noticed the female intruder was literally drooling... something I have not seen an eagle do before. Any idea why she was drooling, @Lady Hawk? Her continued brazenness is very concerning.
I have seen Harriet and M do this too when feeding the Es when they were younger. I think it is a way to provide extra fluid to the Es and would certainly help lubricate so the Es can swallow it easier. Ladyhawk your thoughts? I don't know what it would mean for the intruder to do it.
I actually have an answer for this! It means she is aware of the presence of food and is salivating. Eagles don't have lips to contain the drool so it just comes out. I learned this when a golden eagle was doing the same thing during a classroom demonstration at a raptor rehab center! The handler explained it to us (he had bits of food on him and the eagle knew it).
@Lady Hawk, I was wondering if this injured eagle can be captured and treated? It looks like there's infection moving into her leg? Then again, I probably don't know that much about eagle injuries😞...Thank you for keeping everyone informed! 🌹
The situation is progressing, increasing in seriousness. It now seems to me that she claims both, the food and the nest, with M15 or without him (and the eaglets) if necessary. She behaves like any female eagle who naturally expects a male to bring her food gifts in order to bond with her. What can M do? Nothing - except to go fishing and hunting even more, to also serve the female - only to not endanger his eaglets and to provide enough food for everyone. Unfortunately, he has no chance of winning a fight against her. So he must try to do everything he can to keep her happy, only to protect his eaglets until they are grown up to leave on their own way. Unfortunately it is still a long time until then. It will cost M15 a lot of strength and endurance. If he didn't have eaglets to take care of, imo he would most likely give up the nest and leave it to her rather than fight or bond with her.
GREAT COMMENT!! Seriously these dang eagles are much smarter than I personally give them credit for because he went with the lesser of two evils in this case.
Another option.. If this female does not appeal to M15, after the E's leave, he can find another female that would fight with him to regain the nest, should she be successful in taking it over. This has a long way to go! Plus, another competitor for M15 could show up, who is more to his liking, and not as hungry and aggressive towards the E's, and, she could flush this one out. I like that option as it would get rid of this one, make everyone happy and M15 keeps the nest/territory. 😻
It was awful. I t was a long standoff. It was just awful. The two Es wisely went into submissive mode for the most part. I realize that we must not attribute human emotions to what is happening at the nest, however it was a wise decision of M15 not to engage in a violent battle with the eaglets in danger of being knocked out of the nest.

I watched this live I was scared for them. But M did the Right thing. It stopped the babes being hurt or worse being thrown from the nest. It let her have her fill so She would go away after. Then the wonderful dad brought in another fish and fed his babes.
M knows she’s after food and not the babies. He protects them by not challenging her. Smart man. Whether she wants the nest or not after fledging then I believe M15 will take her as a mate. She’s fierce and determined would make excellent mother to her own eaglets.
Look at E22 claiming fish from Dad, mantling it and demanding feeding! He even mantled fish from the intruder twice and kept voicing his disapproval while the intruder was devouring her trophy. Well done, E22, you are such a brave boy!
@Lady Hawk omg, I watched this live and found my self yelling at my laptop without realizing it! I think M15 ,being wise, decided to let her have that fish, rather than fight and possibly injure the E's. It also was good to see close ups of that talon which is necrotic imho!! The intruder is going to have medical issues--- I hope the eaglets dont come in contact with her talons! thank you for posting this ASAP. you are the best!
I noticed that necrosis as well.. they say wildlife people will only step in if an eagle is grounded due to being hurt.. it does seem her talon is healing from when she first came but necrotic stuff needs to be removed.. if it is dead could it actually heal or spread to other spots on her talon? I'd think it would spread and if it does she'll definitely be in trouble.. I've seen her eat too but never saw her flying with something in her talon so she's probably stealing all her meals
This is truly dire. It also makes me feel sick how so many are still trying to make this a romantic story. They clearly have not understood the facts that LH works so hard to explain. Then, they will make excuses and place blame in inappropriate ways. I have been so concerned since this female showed up. My concern grows stronger with every interaction. It becomes apparent to me that most probably, the whole situation will not end well.
I’m keeping tabs on what is happening but I really cannot watch anymore. After this is over I’m not going to watch anymore nests as it’s too upsetting for me. God Bless M15 & E21 & E22 !!! Can’t believe this is happening . I now firmly believe Harriett was killed in a fight to the death with another eagle - maybe one these hanging around. RIP Harriette. You are loved forever. 😰🫣😞😩🦅🦅
M15 brought in a fish and was followed into the nest by an intruder. He protected his E's and he mantled his fish keeping the intruder at bay. She ultimately went to the veranda and waited while M15 started to feed both E's. The intruder came back down to the nest and pushed M15 off and started to eat the fish - also warning away both E's. She flew off after she was finished with no harm to either of the E's. M15 was seen on the U branch waiting and watching her. M15 avoided a confrontation with the intruder when he got pushed off the nest and did not return to avoid risk of injury to himself or the eaglets. He realized the intruder was simply after the fish so he let her eat it. Eagles will pick their fights to avoid confrontation to avoid injury whenever possible. It was a smart thing for M15 to do at this time & he was able to return with a fish and more prey later in the day & feed both E's. We don't have all the answers right now and we may not know them all even when the season is over - it is a learning experience for all of us! Stay safe & strong M15 you have a lot on your plate right now protecting & feeding the E's and chasing off this intruder.

This was a very interesting interaction. I wasn’t quite sure what the intruder would think when M 15 vacated the nest to say this is a learning experience is an understatement. All we can do is watch and learn from nature thank you lady Hawk for all you do.

Do you think that she is unable to hunt because of the injury to her foot? She realizes M is a good provider. She hasn’t tried, thankfully to hurt the E’s . Perhaps she was one of Harriet’s babies with Ozzie and she knows the nest.
M15 providing for himself ( and another adult) and 2 eaglets...all the while dealing with perilous situations..he sure is a testament to why the eagle is a symbol of determination and courage.

As much as I would love to see one of the intruders eat E22, it doesn't change the fact that you are bang on. M15 is a legend. One of the most loyal, intelligent, capable male eagles I have ever seen. What he's been accomplishing of late just massively emphasizes how much of a power couple he and Harriet were. She was an absolute legend and M15 is right there with her (peace be upon her)!!!

I don’t see how he can get rid of her by himself. He seems to be trying everything he can just to feed and protect the E’s. I worry about her aggression. We are so privileged to be able to watch our eagles in real time and videos and I have watched many years. This is most difficult though,as we miss Harriet so much! M is Father of the Year. ~Thankfully, so far, she has shown no sign of wanting to kill the eaglets and he knows this. Hence, why he has also left w/her right on their tree. Yes, she has kicked at them and pecked at them, but it's no different than what E21 has done to E22 over food. Hopefully, this continues re her not purposely harming the babes...
~~The danger here though, as Lady Hawk has pointed out = IF scuffles happen on the nest, there is always the chance of the babes getting injured or worse or getting shoved off nest, all quite by accident, but due the adults fighting on the nest. So you see now, why M didn't fly back to nest and fight?

I think she is getting more hungry. When she finished eating, you could even see her crop was full. Unusual for an adult. The armored catfish must be hard to eat because of all the leftovers all over the nest. She left very little behind.

Should be, this is not good, m15 has a much larger eagle that is preying on the nest, and he is too tired to do much about it. Now not only does he have to feed 2 growing eaglets but some B eagle that just kicked his ass.
I am really worried too!! If she continues to get easy meals here, she’s not ever going to leave!! M15 is amazing, no doubt about that! But he is already up against incredible odds, and this free loading intruder is making things so much worse. (And my apologies to those who may feel that I am being negative, but I am very concerned by this new dynamic.)

😢 This is progressively getting more brazen and worse and I thought after yesterday seeing the intruder getting a rabbit that she would now stop this behavior with the E's and the nest..... And the information about how this eagle even though she has a bum Talon it is healing… And she can… Hunt and fish for herself...... I wish conservation could jump in and do some thing about this because I am concerned..... at some point she's might kill the E's😢
I also wonder if that's why m15 didn't put up that big of a ruckus over the fish, perhaps he knows if she's fed she won't have any reason to hurt the eaglets.

CROW does not "jump in" because you are concerned.
The state and federal wildlife agencies have to approve intervention, and I don't think that will happen unless they are actually seriously injured. Sad, but it is the reality of how the system works.
What other negative outcomes have you thought up?
If somehow the E's survive this, how will they manage when M-15 gets to the point where he brings food and drops it off? I mean that is the next step, but I'm afraid she will go after the food & fight the E's for it. Very scary watching this unfold.

This was such a scary situation. I saw it earlier. Not even sure what to say. So many people are still romanticizing the female’s presence, it just blows me away. I’m glad M didn’t get in a fight with the female but the more she takes advantage of this situation and gets away with it, the more likely this kind of aggression will become the norm while the eaglets are there. I’m fearful for M and his little ones.

'Saw this live and agree, YES it sure was scary and intense. My heart hurt when she shoved him off the nest. He had hauled in such a beautiful fish for his babies... Then the bravado of both eaglets - my goodness! I was yelling at them - no! stay back! no, no, no! 'As if they can hear me 🤣But yes, nothing funny about it all bec as you have shared before - VERY dangerous for this whole family when she insists on fighting all of them for food. Looks like E22 is getting an education from the fighting because I’ve noticed he is a lot braver and is standing up to e21, even snatching food out of e22 mouth lol.
I cried and am so sad for them. M strategically did what he had to do to prevent injuries to himself and the E''s. He can't get hurt and he knows it. The E's must be so confused. I pray the rails are able to keep the little ones in the nest if she tries to push them off or during a scuffle with M. Bless M's heart he's doing everything he possibly can do to avoid a major confrontation. I pray he can endure for himself and his babies. This is very sad! If she manages to push the eaglets off and they die, the gravy train she's enjoying right now will end-M will disappear and so will the food. The question is whether she's thought about that at all. It's not the kind of future-think we typically give animals credit for, but cameras have revealed some amazing things.

She gets bolder and bolder and has M giving up his hard earned food for the E's and retreating from the nest. I don't see anything good coming from any of this for the E's. Saddest thing is that even if she finally does kill one or both, she is claiming that nest. Once the eaglets are gone, one way or the other, I believe she will become M's next mate. This is life in the wild and it isn't always fair and beautiful. Once the E's are gone, she isn't leaving and M will forget what she did. Let's just pray that she is a great mother to her own.

Isn't it the female that will fight off intruding females and the males will fight off the intruding males? Perhaps that is why this intruding female seems to be prevailing. She is much larger than M15 to begin with. There would not be an issue if Harriet were around. She would never leave her nest and babies alone this long so we know she has either cross the rainbow bridge or is in the care of someone somewhere as Ozzie was before M15 arrived on the scene. I'm hoping and praying for a good outcome and that Harriet's good fortune in having a mate as fine as M15 befalls on M15 to have a good mate as well. Stay strong little ones...

Oh boy that is scary. Looks like she holds her wing out a bit is that the injury? Poor M he is pulling triple overtime. Praying so hard for them to be ok and this intruder doesn't attack them. She caught a rabbit on her own this morning and ate it in the nest tree. She's okay enough to hunt, kick and bite both adult eagles and their young. Truly injured eagles don't do all of that. Her scrapes on her talons are likely from this nonesense she's doing right now.

Poor little E22, that was a hard bite. 😢 at this point I am glad all 3 are okay. I don’t think the intruder will ever leave. Easy meals, a nest, and possibly a great potential mate (M15).
Maybe this is how they do it. He slowly has been letting her into his world so she knows the rules of the nest.
Thanks Lady Hawk for posting the clips. I put a brief description on your last video when it happened... "Well it appears that she has reverted back to psychopath. She just chased M back to the nest to go after the fish he was carrying. He then spread-eagled over the kids while hanging on to the fish. Then she pushed M out of the nest. He flew back in and stood on an upper branch. Daaaang it! Wish he'd of just tossed her the fish. He can always get another one. But, he didn't so it is what it is."
And, she's back up in the tree even now as we speak. They had a good day yesterday, a peaceful night's rest and a perfectly calm morning & then this. It's up to him and his instincts to do whatever he's gonna do next. Trust the eagles.🦅💓🙏

Yikes! that was intense but M15 handled it well as always I think, now that we know she is not going to eat the Es, she just wants to be fed and get invited to dinner She is looking more and more like Eagle Dearest like the movie from the 1980s "Mommy Dearest" I just wish the nest positive vibes and hopefully she behaves better and nicer with each passing day.🥰 Hopefully M15 gets a good nights rest🥰

At the end, M15 was looking away from the nest as if he were trying to summon Harriet to return and help him take care of their eaglets. It is a huge job for a male eagle to succeed with an overly dominant female showing up frequently.
Even with an injury, she can cause a lot of hurt to an adult eagle and the eaglets.
I’m so proud of him. E22 was not good when momma left. Now he is doing great. M is awesome. He needs to take that lady out!!!

I'm curious to know if there's been a lot of other intruders in the area since she's been pretty glued to the nest tree lately. It wouldn't surprise me, if he sees her as a benefit to help to deter others... although probably annoyed, gives up a meal here & there, but has extra protection in his territory. Just a thought.
I'm pretty sure I saw 3 eagles in the tree she hangs at sometimes.. while M15 was in the nest they showed around and there were 3 big eagles! I was like 😬 it seems he does use her to keep others away... also to get a good night's sleep... I was appalled when I was watching live and she stole the fish.. what's a little weird to me is that she doesn't snatch and go, she eats there as if for safety from the others she can't fight.. I think she's waiting for them Es to fly away so she can slide right in with M15.. she wants him to feed her too but wants no parts of his babies.. I was thinking M was warming up to her but now I'm thinking his just playing it smart...

Also, that danged wayward stick jammed M15 in his right wing when he jumped and mantled. I knew it would cause harm eventually, either in a rushed landing or a dust up like today. I just cannot believe how things have progressed in just 2.5 weeks.

This is way better than any movie that’s out there because this is live and it’s instinct from animals. That is so so incredible.
On the other hand, E22 is getting braver even dared to try grabbing the fish from the intruder!! Even he got his peck right away from the intruder and went submissive a bit, he walked a bit further and turned around to look at the intruder’s eating still… he must be real hungry still.
Just wish the lady eagle would find a new place to eat..and let m15 raise and provide for his babies...im still at an aww on how much he has done for the babies..so proud of him...we all love u m15 keep up the amazing work...

She can survive on her own. Her goal is resident female.
It’s practically impossible to catch an eagle unless they are grounded and can’t fly. She can hunt and her behavior is typical eagle behavior, they are opportunistic and driven to survive.

Thank you LH for the video. I only watched live the first half but didn't see the second half. This week, M shows us how intelligence he is. He did a smart move by not directly facing this female. He knows he can't get hurt! It's a very sad and hard situation but M handled it like a pro. He knows there's more fish in the pond and not worth getting injuries. Very smart move. He knows the Es are dependingon him. E22 also showed not wanting to back down but just too small. Continue to pray for their safety.

🫣 my heart was beating so fast I know my blood pressure went over the normal rate. I know these are wild animals and this stuff happens all day everyday all over the Amazon/forest/jungles however watching it especially when we are all invested and connected to these nest is really really difficult. Sometimes it’s better to not know then to know and watch. 💔 My heart breaks for M15. He is giving his ALL and sacrificing everything he has for his babies and territory. Lord please protect him 🙏🏼

You would already know that they are still alive, for if they weren't, a ton of bad news would travel very fast, as the saying goes.
This was hard to watch, I seen it live and was scary.
That intruder lady needs to go. She get bolder and bolder. I’m afraid for the E’s and our superdad getting hurt. 😢😢😢
M15 is doing everything in his power to provide for and protect his eaglets. He’s not going to force a violent confrontation in the nest unless it’s absolutely necessary. She came for the food and he yielded it to her. She has no bond with the eaglets and warned them away and they also yielded. We have to trust M15 to do what’s best as he has done so magnificently thus far. It’s difficult emotionally to watch sometimes because we are invested in this precious family, but we are not eagles so we must accept that M15 has a mighty job to do and pray for his and the eaglets success.

Ladyhawk thank you for your comforting news that M15 and the babies are OK after this! I feel so worried about M he looks so rough especially around the head area… is this because he’s not getting enough time to take care of himself? I was worried he got wounded on the head.

She is interested in the food not on harming the eaglets. For the past week she stayed overnight at the nest with M15. Last night she arrived 10:15 and left in the morning, as well as the day before,after M15. She didn't displayed any signs of aggressiveness towards the eaglets. M15 is doing a superb job providing food and protection for the eaglets, the nest and himself👏👏👏👏 so far so good. TY Lady Hawk. Thank you Lady Hawk for your explanations, as they are always insightful, factual, and levelheaded. You truly know your eagle families so well! I watched another video, half of this size, and it gave the impression that M15 was losing out to the intruder. This is why it’s important to watch where we get our information from and not to make insinuations. And more importantly, remember the best advice ever given… “TRUST THE EAGLES.” They know what they are doing, as our Amazing M15 is showing us time and time again. Let’s pray for our beloved eagle family and hope for the best!

I noticed the female intruder was literally drooling... something I have not seen an eagle do before. Any idea why she was drooling, @Lady Hawk? Her continued brazenness is very concerning.
I saw that too and wondered about that.
Wonder if intruder eagle is sick, lead poisoning or ? It is very skittish and super aggressive.
I have seen Harriet and M do this too when feeding the Es when they were younger. I think it is a way to provide extra fluid to the Es and would certainly help lubricate so the Es can swallow it easier. Ladyhawk your thoughts? I don't know what it would mean for the intruder to do it.
I actually have an answer for this! It means she is aware of the presence of food and is salivating. Eagles don't have lips to contain the drool so it just comes out. I learned this when a golden eagle was doing the same thing during a classroom demonstration at a raptor rehab center! The handler explained it to us (he had bits of food on him and the eagle knew it).
@Lady Hawk, I was wondering if this injured eagle can be captured and treated? It looks like there's infection moving into her leg? Then again, I probably don't know that much about eagle injuries😞...Thank you for keeping everyone informed! 🌹

The situation is progressing, increasing in seriousness.
It now seems to me that she claims both, the food and the nest, with M15 or without him (and the eaglets) if necessary. She behaves like any female eagle who naturally expects a male to bring her food gifts in order to bond with her.
What can M do?
Nothing - except to go fishing and hunting even more, to also serve the female - only to not endanger his eaglets and to provide enough food for everyone. Unfortunately, he has no chance of winning a fight against her. So he must try to do everything he can to keep her happy, only to protect his eaglets until they are grown up to leave on their own way. Unfortunately it is still a long time until then. It will cost M15 a lot of strength and endurance.
If he didn't have eaglets to take care of, imo he would most likely give up the nest and leave it to her rather than fight or bond with her.
GREAT COMMENT!! Seriously these dang eagles are much smarter than I personally give them credit for because he went with the lesser of two evils in this case.
Another option..
If this female does not appeal to M15, after the E's leave, he can find another female that would fight with him to regain the nest, should she be successful in taking it over.
This has a long way to go!
Plus, another competitor for M15 could show up, who is more to his liking, and not as hungry and aggressive towards the E's, and, she could flush this one out.
I like that option as it would get rid of this one, make everyone happy and M15 keeps the nest/territory. 😻

It was awful. I t was a long standoff. It was just awful. The two Es wisely went into submissive mode for the most part. I realize that we must not attribute human emotions to what is happening at the nest, however it was a wise decision of M15 not to engage in a violent battle with the eaglets in danger of being knocked out of the nest.
She really needs to go away, I watched live. Stole the babies meal.

Might explain the hurt talon, fighting eagles often lock talons and spiral down in flight, playing chicken before they hit the ground.
I watched this live I was scared for them. But M did the Right thing. It stopped the babes being hurt or worse being thrown from the nest. It let her have her fill so She would go away after. Then the wonderful dad brought in another fish and fed his babes.
M knows she’s after food and not the babies. He protects them by not challenging her. Smart man. Whether she wants the nest or not after fledging then I believe M15 will take her as a mate. She’s fierce and determined would make excellent mother to her own eaglets.
Look at E22 claiming fish from Dad, mantling it and demanding feeding! He even mantled fish from the intruder twice and kept voicing his disapproval while the intruder was devouring her trophy. Well done, E22, you are such a brave boy!

@Lady Hawk omg, I watched this live and found my self yelling at my laptop without realizing it! I think M15 ,being wise, decided to let her have that fish, rather than fight and possibly injure the E's. It also was good to see close ups of that talon which is necrotic imho!! The intruder is going to have medical issues--- I hope the eaglets dont come in contact with her talons! thank you for posting this ASAP. you are the best!
I noticed that necrosis as well.. they say wildlife people will only step in if an eagle is grounded due to being hurt.. it does seem her talon is healing from when she first came but necrotic stuff needs to be removed.. if it is dead could it actually heal or spread to other spots on her talon? I'd think it would spread and if it does she'll definitely be in trouble.. I've seen her eat too but never saw her flying with something in her talon so she's probably stealing all her meals

This is truly dire. It also makes me feel sick how so many are still trying to make this a romantic story. They clearly have not understood the facts that LH works so hard to explain. Then, they will make excuses and place blame in inappropriate ways. I have been so concerned since this female showed up. My concern grows stronger with every interaction. It becomes apparent to me that most probably, the whole situation will not end well.
She is the one who keeps messing up the rails on the nest also! Praying it doesn't cause one of the Eaglet's to fall or get pushed out.

I’m keeping tabs on what is happening but I really cannot watch anymore. After this is over I’m not going to watch anymore nests as it’s too upsetting for me. God Bless M15 & E21 & E22 !!!
