    Center console: The top closing clip needs to be replaced (est $15 dealer) The screws come lose causing the top to lean backward. There are TH-cam videos of how to take apart and tighten the screws.

    I just bought a 2004 also with 270,000 miles and it runs like a dream no problems at all. Im due for a timing belt in the next 10,000 miles and im going to do valve cover gaskets myself but other than that its in great shape. The 2nd owner had it since it had 28,000 and they kept up with maintenance really good.

    you can fix the loose door lock by removing the door panel and realigning the ball connectors, pretty easy repair maybe 30 min job

    • @agucciverse
      @agucciverse 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@snowpants2212 Not really to be honest, I kinda figured it out unintentionally when I was installing new door speakers. I would just get the door panel off (plenty of videos about that, all you need is a 10mm socket) and look around the lock area. there is a ball connector (probably not the right name for it but it's a little ball thats connected to a line) it just needs to be properly placed into the lock slot if it slipped out. When its not in the slot it won't hold or lock as nothing can physically move the lock. I'd recommend taking off a door panel of both a working door, and the non working one. then just take a look at how the working one is lined up, and align the ball connector on the broken one based on that.
      just a heads up that if you yank the door panel off with force it could disconnect the locks (happened to me twice) so be gentle with the panel as you take it off

    I have my 430 05 with 150k. Replaced front control arm rear bushing with poly from figs. Amazing results. Replaced all my door actuators for 7 dollars a door. I also lubricated my rubber on sunroof and doors. Did all the fluids and transmission. Replaced shocks all around. Amazing car. I want to have another one. Fix the center console. Took like 30 mins. Go online for the center cap. Have a paintless dent repair come pull the dents. Order online for the window trim, front hood struts, all sensors cost $25-$75 each easy diy. The sensors are VVT position sensor with little filter about 2 inches long (aka oil control valve), crankshaft position sensor, Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, clean it first and put back in with MAF cleaner, output speed sensor (goes on top of transmission), camshaft position sensors, pcv, airfilter, cabin filter, oil change, valve cover gaskets. These changes and repairs may take years before they need replaced or fixed. All are DIY. All sensors are 1 10 meter metric socket or MAF has 2 small screws use a quality Phillips screw driver (careful not to strip them). They all have an electric plug wire that you have to squeeze to disconnect. These cars go from 200- several 100's of thousands miles, just fix them yourself. When your cars ones really ruff like overnight then is one of the things mentioned earlier. TRY NOT TAKE IT TO A DEALER OR MECHANIC SHOP. THEY WILL BRAKE YOUR CAR, KEEP IT TO LONG AND BILL YOU THOUSANDS. If you need help hire a mobile mechanic by the job not by the hour. Today 03/11/22 I paid $60 for 1 valve cover gasket leaking oil changed. Hope this helps. I own 2 LS430's 2001 Sport & 2005 ultra luxury. Many years on 1 245000 miles runs like new and a 2005 1 yr 140000 miles. I'm the 2nd owner on both cars. Paid $9000 for and 10 years later $8000 for 2005. Both are still in mint condition.

    All of the issues on your car are very minimal and minor, especially for a car of that age. Overall, it seems very well taken care of and in nice shape! The guy should have put a piece of brownish/grey colored vinyl, instead of the carbon fiber look one. If the color matched close enough, it would look like it could be stock. Someone cut the vinyl shape out very nicely! The original Mark & Evinson stereo in your car was top notch back in the day. Speakers placed in the right spots I'm sure gave it a real great sound experience! My big question is......Does that tape deck work?? If not, you gotta get that feature working again for sure! 😁

    Some aftermarket are controlled by OE steering wheel. In that space I would put in a DVD or replace the head unit which sorta looks like it's a real pain to match and would keep OE amp and speakers. Someone is going to have to pull that door panel to see if anything is broke or just popped out of place. I have a Chrysler Concorde restoring has 9 speaker Infinity system repainting whole nine yards. This not a comparison not even in my mind to this Lexus. Door handle broke replaced whole door panel will refurbish panel taken out. As long as it is running good take care of that sweet sweet ride.

    It would be neat if you could have your current sound system set up to work with all the controls & regain all the positives of the original.
    At 8:50 it appears like body filler which possibly has surface rust underneath. It may make sense to have it repaired before any (potential) rust either sneaks further under your paint or starts to penetrate. I think the ceramic finish may be a hindrance when painting- though I am not up with current technologies/ materials. Your car looks pretty good on the whole.👍❤🖖

    Random question for the car does the interior sound like it's cracking since it's a older car? And also
    For the LS430 compared to the LS430 Ultra Luxury
    Will I be missing out on a lot with the normal LS430?
    And will it be worth it to go with the Ultra Luxury for the cruise control, air suspension, Navigation screen
    and sound isolated windows?
    Note the Ultra Luxury I want to buy costs less but has a few problems. Nothing major

    • @JermsDNA
      @JermsDNA  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Victor. The sound in the interior is as if the car was brand new. So smooth, sometimes feels like I'm in a hybrid it's so silent overall
      As for the Ultra Luxury part of it. Most people would agree that its better to just buy a non UL and start with the base model. I went with the UL because it was slim pickings in my area as far as color I wanted and price range. I found my from a private dealer and got the price I wanted. You won't be missing too much from not buying the UL.

      @@JermsDNA I did it on mine a few months ago. It's pretty straight forward but can definitely be a pain in the ass as some of the initial screws are hard to get at due to the weird angle from having to be in the backseat during disassembly. It's definitely worth it though, it was a big sigh of relief to not have the thing pop out constantly. I've got a few other minor little issues with mine like the cd door under the radio is loose as well as the slide-out cubby which is stuck in the dash. I'll get around to those one of these days. Great car, just subscribed 👍.
